  1. If you can make this jacket might I suggest doing so? There will likely be good demand for it though you may need to list a few times to get a buyer due to the crappy GTN interface. I happily paid 32k for a level 11 version of this jacket and I am 50
  2. I did manage to get a copy of the Esseles Scoundrel's jacket from running the level 10 Esseles flashpoint again solo. It drops off ISS-7 Guardian Battle Droid. I also got the same orange pistol to drop twice for those looking for identical dual wield-pistols but I forget the name of it. Not very impressive looking, though. I tried getting the A-300 Sonic Needler off the Mandalorian Terror 4 man on Balmorra, but the first time I ran that quest normally with a group it gave an orange helmet as a reward. I remember because the guy I was with was a scoundrel who hated it. Going back later to solo that quest in search of the gun I got the same orange helmet. I am guessing someone got it as a drop from the box reward so listed it on Torhead.
  3. Thanks for your response. This isn't quite the problem I am experiencing, though I have occasionally experienced the mouse twitch issue as well. My problem is almost continual, and involves the camera slowly panning backwards after a slight move. I will add this to the comments there, though.
  4. I am having a problem where every time I move even the slightest amount the camera jumps forward quickly then slooooowly pans out backwards. I can stand in one spot, turn to the left, and then turn to the right, and the effect is as if the camera is always moving backwards, as you barely notice the forward jump. It does this continuously with movement and it it is rare for it not to happen. This is especially common indoors or wherever there is some item or cover overhead. It is extremely annoying. I didn't notice the problem until I got to Corellia within the last week where it seems worse than in other areas, so I am not sure if it started with last week's patch. Any advice would be appreciated.
  5. How is that a conspiracy theory? It was an openly stated design philosophy by one of WoWs developers and the hunter class reflected that philosophy. The gunslinger class mirrors the hunter class in WoW in too many ways to count. Is it possible that it also mirrors that design philosophy? What do you gain by denying the problems with the gunslinger class? Don't you want to see those problems get fixed?
  6. Please see my thread here for discussion of a blue version of this jacket: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=230562
  7. IMNSHO the gunslinger serves the same role as the hunter in WoW--a free PVP kill. It has many of the same "defects" built in as the hunter class, and like the hunter class seems designed to fail. Cover is largely a useless gimmick designed to force us to sit in one spot so it is easier for the enemy to destroy us. Ghostcrawler once explained the philosophy behind this by stating that in order for melee to have fun, ranged has to lose. In order for people who are unskilled in PVP to have fun there has to be someone out there who is easy to kill, and that role appears to be served by the gunslinger. I understand they are already talking about a nerf because there is one class our damage is good against, and that is one class too many for the designated target dummy class. It's just like WoW where anytime it became clear hunters had an ability that gave them even the slightest edge or viability, that ability got removed or nerfed into the ground, while the flaws were seldom addressed despite massive complaints. If they nerf us despite all the problems we have in PVP I will see that as a sign that they have no intention of making this class viable in PVP. Bioware needs to wake up and realize many of us quit WoW because of this crap, and will happily quit this turkey as well.
  8. I ran the Esseles low level flashpoint tonight in hopes of finding this jacket. Unfortunately it didn't drop. However I later went on the GTN and found a variation of this with a slightly more orangish hue to the details, the "RD-02A Battle Jacket." Despite being a level 11 item it was selling for 32k. I ended up buying it as I had never seen anything like it on the GTN before, and apparently the high price reflects its popularity. I just need to get one more and matching pants now I have an Armstech so may go for the Two fingers pistol as a best compromise. Ty everyone for all the advice.
  9. Hi everyone, Does anyone know where I can get a matching copy of the A-300 Sonic Needler, or if there is a schematic for it? I am a gunslinger and would like to have have matching pistols but currently have only one of these. I like how it looks kinda sorta like an old long-barreled Colt '44. It definitely has the "gunslinger" feel to it in a way all those techy blasters don't. Here is a picture I got from a recent thread showing blaster pics. http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m227/cliveklg/clive_album1/Screenshot_2012-01-16_16_33_56_398650.jpg this thread is at: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=186307 (Hat tip to Deyjarl. Thanks for the images!) While we're on the subject anyone know where I can get a copy of the jacket in that photo? It is the "Gunslinger's Prototype Jacket" and I am currently wearing it, but would like to get a matching copy for Risha or Guss and also matching pants. Any idea where to pick this up? Thanks
  10. Interestingly, I am also wearing this piece of armor exclusively on my female smuggler since I found it and am wondering where to get a copy to outfit Risha and Guss with. I hate the overcoats and particularly the collared pimp coats you get later in the game, which are absolutely hideous. Anyone know which mission drops this piece of armor or matching pants? I have found a pair of blue pinstriped pants that match it well, and the boots from the Light Side vendor go well with these (the collared WoW-type boots also look hideous, as do the rubbery-looking "Wellington" boots.)
  11. The other night it took me 23 green earpieces to get a blue. Then I tried 16 green armor mods before I gave up due to the cost and frustration. Now I just did 16 barrels on my Armstech and still no blue. It appears they have really cut down the odds of getting a schematic from reverse engineering. I sincerely hope they are not this tone-deaf after all the complaints about what a frustrating, unfun chore the RNG crafting system already is. If anything this entire system needs to be scrapped for something that doesn't function as a mild form of psychological torture.
  12. I have to agree that gunslinger is very tough. Like you i sometimes get beaten by melee elites 3 or 4 levels below me, or I am forced to pop medpacs to survive the last few moments of a fight. This wasn't too much of a problem at first but now that I am on Belsavis the melee elites are a huge pain there. Other times I end up running away while Risha picks them off, or Risha dies in the fight. One problem we have is the lack of a general purpose cc. Whenever I have to fight an elite with extra mobs as a trooper (as in a lot of fights that begin with cutscenes) I cc the elite, kill off his companions, then take a quick break while Elara Dorne heals me and herself before destroying the elite with ease. My trooper is generally poorly geared mods wise, vs the gunslinger who is a Cybertech and usually has blue mods above the level of her enemies. Not so the gunslinger. Perhaps as the one or two non-moronic responses here suggested, there are better builds. I would like to try a build less dependent on cover, that's for sure. There is no one size fits all comp for this problem. Bowdaar dies too easy to ranged mobs, and Risha can't hold aggro (neither can Bowdaar, really) and Guss sometimes chooses to ping away at enemies rather than heal you. Overall I have found a well-geared Risha to be the best bet to go for the quick kill. I can kill the melee elites but I have to do everything right and not make a single mistake, otherwise I need to pop a medpac which is expensive. It is essential that you allow your pet to start all fights, and give them a second or two to pull aggro. This is probably a bad idea with Guss though as the last thing you want him to do is fight.
  13. Having played a hunter in WoW, the gunslinger appears to be a mirror of that class with all the same flaws and drawbacks and which seems to serve the same purpose: free PVP kill. A lot of our abilities are identical and even have the same names, like aimed shot and rapid fire. We have severe energy management issues just like hunters in WoW. We are extremely squishy compared to other classes, have no heal, no 1-minute cc, have poor escape abilities and have abilities that take forever to proc and are tied to being in cover which we are easily blown out of, which amounts to a free cc for other players. As any WoW hunter can tell you, having to stand in one spot for more than a second to get an ability off equals death. For an ability that takes an agonizing 2.5 seconds to proc you may as well AFK and wait for the "rogue" class to stunlock you to death, just like in WoW. We don't do as much damage as some other players and are easily shut down. Hunters in WoW have these identical issues which eventually got so bad the class became useless in PVP. I fully expect that if they continue to follow the WoW script, our few useful abilities will be nerfed into the ground. When you're the toughest class to play, have the weakest defenses and can have your offensive abilities easily shut down, all that translates into a poor, frustrating experience in PVP, which is the very reason I left WoW. Fortunately I also leveled a trooper which is way more fun and viable in PVP.
  14. I believe it is a mistake to nerf things to bring them into balance. the correct response would have been to make these items available to everyone for purchase, negating any PVP advantage to the items. You still have to work to earn the credits to buy one of these items. This way Biochem people would have a source of profit, there would be no necessity of taking Biochem as a profession for raiding/PVP (as there still is, even post-nerf) and everyone will eventually be on the same playing field. Ditto for Cybertech 'nades. These enormous, poorly thought out and gratuitous nerfs do build resentment. Apologies are meaningless to people who dropped a profession to get Biochem one only to find out they now need 400 to use the items. Our time is valuable to us. Stop wasting it.
  15. Many of the crafting professions are currently broken, let alone useless. I haven't seen an orange recipe for Armstech drop yet. Do they exist? Should they? Investigation is supposed to return schematics but the only schematics I seem to find are from regular drops, and these are few and far between. People are reporting they are unable to gain blues from RE'ing vibroswords and shotguns. I haven't tried myself. Reverse Engineering needs a buff. It took me 23 green earpieces to get a single blue last night on my Cybertech toon, at a time when the resources I needed to make these were in short supply, and I find that immensely frustrating and unfun. This is supposed to be a game, right? Games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating, right? Then why do you add so many frustrating elements into this game for no real gain? Shouldn't there be a reasonable cap on how many items it takes to get a schematic, say, 10 items for green to blue and 25 for blue to purple? This way people know what they have to work towards and can prepare accordingly, reducing the immense frustrating this system can sometimes induce. Then it will actually be fun to RE something in one or two drops, rather than little more than a relief that the ordeal is finally over as it is now. All these problems should have been fixed before launch. Whether or not the rest of us are in it for the long haul depends on your addressing these things in a timely manner. I am playing this game now, not 6 months from now.
  16. Ty for your response. Could you elaborate on this a bit or maybe provide a link? I have Armstech over 350 currently and haven't been able to find an Orange schematic yet. If they allow you to fully mod purple gear and if that gear then has higher value than Orange gear that would be great.
  17. First go to Outpost Salara. In between that outpost and the entrance to the Dune Sea to the west you should take the southernmost road that runs between these two points. You have to pass over the land bridge next to the outpost to get to this road, at which point you should turn right and a small distance on the left you will see some red Sand people banners which marks the entrance to The Outlaws Den, a PVP zone. Go through this zone which is not too long and you will be able to easily access the entrance for the mission. Going any other way takes you through an imperial camp and you will die.
  18. Agree, I think the capes look absolutely hideous. First time I saw a smuggler with the goofy round helmet and a cape all I could think of was The Great Kazoo from The Jetsons. Captain Video to the rescue!!! Oh, and don't get my started on the "Super Fly" Blaxploitation movie pimp coats with the puffy collars. But I guess it goes well with that atrocious cantina music. Someone has a love affair with the '70s. Seriously they need to redo the smuggler wardrobe big time. Give us something that looks a little more badazz and less like that dude from KickAss.
  19. The only thing I need or want from Underworld Trading are the metals, and I need metals from level 3 on up. As of this writing, I see nothing in my list but Companion gifts for level 4, and a mix of companion gifts and fabrics for level 3 and 5. It is bad enough missions take so long and cost so much money, but now half the time I can't even get a metal mission and when I do, it is usually for a "moderate" or at best abundant yield. I have yet to be able to send 4 companions at once on metal missions of any kind. Is there some kind of trick to getting the missions you want to pop up, like a specific rotation that will ensure you keep getting good metal missions? Or do I have to keep checking in every hour like a teenager on her first date? This is intensely frustrating and I am getting fed up with the ridiculous amount of tedious unfun built into the crafting system in this game.
  20. Exactly. This should be the question game designers ask themselves at every stage of the design process. It should be displayed on banners and posters throughout the studio, a mandatory sig on every internal e-mail or communication, and a mantra to be repeated at the beginning of every meeting until it is permanently imprinted into their brains like their Social Security numbers. Everything falling outside this question tends to be game-killing BS. Instead, the questions that Bioware seemed to ask are: 1. WWBD (What Would Blizzard Do?) 2. How do we create as many meaningless time sinks as possible to create the illusion that this game has more gameplay than it does?
  21. I prefer them to the "Please make the game monotonous, boring and excessively frustrating for no meaningful purpose whatsoever because I'm a masochist" threads.
  22. What purpose would that serve other than to waste 15 minutes?
  23. Maybe you should try walking for the sake of "immersion.' Making things more intelligent and user-friendly is a worthy goal. Why so many here fail to see this is beyond me. If you want to take the long way do so, but make a shorter way available for those who value their time. Simple.
  24. I fully agree. Along with this we should have mailbox and GTN access aboard our ships, and GTN access on all planets, so you don't have to go through 10 minutes of running and loading screens to send a piece of mail or check the GTN when you're on your ship ship, then do the same coming back. This is about as aggressively tedious and unfun as it gets. If the developers had to use software this user unfriendly to do their jobs they'd delete it. We should be able to shuttle directly to our ships, right into the map room as suggested and shuttle out to wherever we were questing. No reason shuttle needs to be on a timer, either. This is WoW crap. There is too much anal retentive WoW crap in this game and it sucks the fun right out of it. People don't enjoy being frustrated, aggravated or having their time wasted. When are MMO developers going to be able to wrap their heads around this simple, indisputable fact? If it doesn't contribute to fun or have a meaningful purpose it needs to be removed from the game. Simple.
  25. Better do away with credit games from farming mobs. That inflates the economy too.
