I consider myself a pretty tech savvy guy. I built the rig about 14 months ago and have yet to have any real problems. Short answer: Yes. Long answer: That is sooooooo expensive and pre-built configs are for noobs. Seriously though, if you got the money and you just want to buy a computer and run this game on high settings, that will do it.

Appreciate all the responses. I will have to check out the CCC while I'm running the game to see what the temp is and adjust fan speed accordingly. I just never had to do this for other games and was curious if others are having the same experience.

Yeah, this is certainly an issue with your ISP. At work, with DSL and about 40 computers on the network surfing the web; I'm getting 5.5mbps.

Teldara and Liarablade, thank you very much for understanding my question. I will check that out when I get home tonight. Crap, I'm concerned it is hitting 90+ because this thing is LOUD. Again, game performs great. 50-60fps at max settings. Just this damn card gets so loud. Even when I drop to low settings, the fan just goes and goes and goes and goes.

Just that fan goes nuts every time I get to the character login screen. I have never heard that level of noise before and I still only hear it when I login to SWTOR.

Just curious how your rig sounds while running SWTOR. I have played a good bit of other games with this card over the last year or so (Witcher 2, LOTRO, Fallout New Vegas, Skyrim) and I run everything at higher end settings but not always the highest (cough Witcher 2 ubersampling cough). I won't bother posting rig specs, as my issue is just with the card fan. Basically, my problem is that when I play SWTOR, the fan on my card goes INSANE. It is ridiculous loud. This only happens in SWTOR, none of the other above mentioned games. This includes LOTRO with all of the new-ish DX11 options enabled. So, anyone else share this issue?

Test to see if ctrl+u (hides UI), then ctrl+u again (shows UI) fixes this issue. It resets the UI and usually works for me.

Never played the others but those highlighted are incorrect. Played both, you're mistaken. Try to register for a Netflix or Hulu + free trial without a CC or debit. It is pretty basic practice these days.
