  1. sorcs are not out of line compared to other healers sorry. if you have ever raided with a godo smug healer or a good commando healer you would know this. commando healers are currently the best single target healers in game contrary to popular belief

Sounds like you need to roll up a commando then!

And yes they are out of line, they always have been be it for PVE or PVP. Saying otherwise means you are out of touch with the rest of the game.

  2. trolling? we have to manage energy, and they are nerfing it so we can't. unlike smugglers with near infinite energy.

Looks like it's time for you to roll a smuggler then! Enjoy our 'infinite energy' hahaha. Also you might notice that the survivability is ALOT lower, oh and the damage is too, oh and don't forget the healing too! Enjoy!

  3. What is your IQ again son?

People are insanely crazy in this thread. Lol.

I'm waiting for the 80% mrauders and 80% operatives and 80% scoundrels and 80% sentinels per warzone. Enjoy your nerf @ 1.3

That's ok, anything is better than the 80% sorcs/sages that we have now!

  4. Seriously. I can't force throw or force push or force run. I hate this wz. I attempt to leave whenever I see that I'm stuck with it. It's totally based around two or three classes, and not all the classes. It's like someone built an entire warzone around the skilset of three classes, putting all other classes at a huge disadvantage.

suggestions: I hate huttball. That is all.

    agree

  5. I admit it, I want fancy gear.. I want to show of that I'm actually BETTER then the common scrub..

PVP ranks and gear are all about time played. The only correlation that exists is that better PVP gear MAKES you better because they made expertise the end all be all stat in pvp.

  6. If you are looking for serious end game PVE make sure you choose a tank that holds a lightsaber. They benefit from the free deflection bonus just by holding one not to mention BW built jedi much tougher than anyone else. Vangaurds/PTs are great fun but any of the lightsaber tanks just have to huge of an advantage not to role one.
  7. Your pvp system is fluid and most of all, PERFECTLY balanced.

Posting in the wrong forum maybe?

Or, they have only played as force user and nothing else.

  8. Heavy, heavy gear dependent class. Vangaurd's have no active tanking abilities like gaurds/juggs do save fore one 2 min CD shield that only reduces damage by 25%. One thing you really have to watch for in boss fights is the special attacks. Since Vangaurd's don't have active shielding abilities they rely completely on defense/shield chance/absorb. Given that some types of attacks completely ignore these stats, if these attacks aren't interrupted a Vangaurd tank will most likely bit the dust. Long and short of it, high defense, high shield and absorb, and dps that know how to interrupt.
  9. We have three, and two of them Defense Screen/Scrambling Field are garbage. Now lets look at another pure dps class Sentinel. Saber Ward, Rebuke, and Guard by the Force. I could even throw in Force Camouflage and Transcendence.

    Survivability is horrible.

This is the root of the issue right here. It's not that they don't have anything, they do, but what they have is light years behind what others have. It's like battling super heroes from behind a cardboard box with a bb gun. Sure you can shoot someone's eye out if they aren't paying attention. But if they are...

  10. There is plenty kiting opportunities, knockbacks are a fantastic kiting tool, when used right and SWTOR is plagued with those, you can say the reason there is so much gap closers around is pretty much the fact that there is a lot of gap openers to begin with.

Besides that, there are ways to block charge, take Snipers, you can basically root a guy for up to 10 seconds straight with Cover Pulse and subsequent Leg Shot and it still won't fill resolve, so you got one more CC spare. In Huttball - Cover Pulse + entering cover often leaves a melee helplessly running away since he won't be able to charge back.

Kiting here is a bit different, with knockbacks you don't necessarily have to drag a guy half a Warzone to do your worst.

This is all fine and dandy but don't forget you can't damage that melee not 1 point or all of your CCs are worthless. Now lets take forcechoke, it's a CC that stuns and does damage at the same time, ok how about oh forget it there's to long of a list of them that work better and either damage you while you are stunned, doesn't break on damage or lasts twice as long if not longer.

  11. Not sure how this effects the class restricted gear but I sold BH armor through the neutral terminals on Nar Shaadaa to an Alt of mine but when I purchased the appearance was that of the Republic trooper armor. So even if cross faction mail is implemented it will likely still have the look and feel of the faction of the wearer.

It's really to bad they did this, it feels like a waste of time rather than just making 2 different items. I think most players on the Republic side would actually be happy if they just allow them to use Imperial side armor. Heck put the mirror class armor on the PVP vendors and raid vendors and please a lot of people. Would it look out of place, sure it would, but I would guess that a Commando shooting lightning might look out of place too, and that's what we are getting. I would suggest to put the Republic side armor on the Imperial side too, but I don't want to cause any undo pain to anyone's mid-section from laughing to hard.

  12. Flash Grenade is the best long CC in PvP... if your team is smart.

It would be the best if gunslingers had force run. Flash grenade is only useful to stop people so you can que up long shots on them. As a way to stay alive its worthless. You can't run far enough in 8 secs that a Jedi can instantly jump on you or a force user can slow you.

  13. This is probably one of the MMOs with least focus on kiting and positioning for RDPS. That said there is still room for kiting, it's just not something you do constantly. Generally this is what decides whether I kill a RDPS or not. If they stand still like tards or if they actually move when they have the ability to do so.

I also had a lot of fun kite-tanking some elites yesterday on my lowbie BH when doing group quests without a healer.

Try this with one of the pure ranged dps classes, ie Sniper or Gunslinger.

  14. Oneshotting people with lightsabers and not being able to respawn infitely would make for more Star Wars like battles, too. What's your point?

But I agree with the nonexistence of kiting in the current state of the game.

Also, when creating threads on PvP, the PvP forum would be more appropriate.

Point is, there is no disadvantage in this game to playing a jedi or force user. Players are figuring that out fast. If you haven't noticed warzones are generally comprised of only those classes and a small smattering of the 'other' classes. The elements that made the movies exciting were the blaster battles and escape scenes, that what SW was about. Every movie of the original trilogy was about escaping and fighting gorilla style. That style doesn't even remotely exist here.

  15. Just as a preface this is a mainly PvP focused question:

With all of the CC out there and abilities to close distances is it even possible to build a kiting character? I ask this becasue I have noticed even the melee characters have a good amount of CC and even range abilities. I have looked at several builds and tried to come up with a good solution but ultimately it seems that the amount of abilities designed to close the gap between a range player and a melee character far out way the number designed to keep them apart.

Thoughts and success stories are much appreciated!

No. Ranged classes in the game lack the proper tools to actually kite like in other games. Match this with melee classes having extremely short cool downs on gap closers, chained together with stuns, slows etc. and you end up with mostly two people spamming an ability at each other face to face. It would have been nice to actually get the ranged blasters fights that the movies had but instead its shooting people in melee. They would have been better off putting force users and jedi in one warzone to fight others, and ranged users in their own to fight each other. It would have made for more Star Wars like battles that's for sure.
