  1. 1.4 is 1 whole and 4 tenths in the UK. 1,4 is 1 whole and 4 tenths in Greece (for example). 1,400 is one thousand and four hundred wholes in the UK. 1.400 is one thousand and four hundred wholes in Greece. Fractions don't have either decimal points or commas. 1 4/10 is one whole and 4 tenths (or 1 2/5 is too!) don't think this changes no matter what region you are in.
  2. Not all of Europe. The UK still use decimal points in the same way as North America. I have to admit using commas instead is horrifically confusing, espeacially when looking through some of the new EuroCodes. One part actually reads "4,7 , 4,6" which just looks daft!
  3. I still haven't seen an explaination for why it was needed urgently. Did I miss it?
  4. Actually it is important to my finical wellbeing. I can only afford one games sub. I can only play 8 hours a week the majority on a Saturday morning. Ergo is the only game I have ever known to have non-essential maintenance on a weekend really the one I should be paying for? That is the problem here.
  5. I gave my money to another gaming company. I can easily change my sub back to them...
  6. I never understand these posts. You honestly think everyone plays the games constantly? Or is this only based on personal experience? Or do you simply not know what else to say but still really want to post? Honestly, do enlighten me. I play for about 8 hours most weeks. That is a few hours on a Friday late afternoon and then the rest on a Saturday morning. As a result over half of my available playtime this week was removed. I have never experienced a game when I have not been able to play on a weekend and I cannot see any reason to start pay for one that decides that is a good time for unessential maintenance.
  7. It was 5 hours, as they kindly extended it, of the 8 hours I will be able to play this week. The hid the annoucement of it in a post listing a different date in the title so I was expecting to be able to play. It was working fine for the 2 hours I played last night so I am not really sure where this 'broken' idea comes from. Yes I can do something else, but when I get a chance to have a lazy saturday morning in after hard weeks work why shouldn't I?
  8. I finally managed to pursuade a friend from work who is a massive fan of another game to give this one a try. I really hope he didn't buy it yet otherwise I am going to look like an idiot on Monday when I have to explain: "Yes, they did remove a good chunk of the weekend for pointless maintainence. No, it's not uncommon for them to scre over the european players. Yes, I did recommened you actually paid money for that sort of service. No, I won't make any game suggestions to you again. Sorry."
  9. I think you have to be careful what you move over. Obviously server specific information and chat should head straight there. However, if you are simply asking for general advice, posting a guide, discusssing possible future features or talking about roleplay as a whole it should remain here. Otherwise it will just be lost behind a server forum tag and only a small proportion of the community will see it.
  10. Sorry but there is a lot of posts in this threads about add-ons. Has Bioware confirmed these are going to be catereed for in the future or is this all based on wishful thinking? Returning the orginal converation I do like rolls, we used them a lot even out side of RP in previous games. Deciding who was given an item of loot in a raid for instance. I can see this being useful for more then just those who roleplay.
  11. I am simply suggesting it may be time to just take a step back for a bit. Read your posts and think how those who are new to the community and not part of the 'super servers' scheme before launch might see your 'assertive' attitude. I can tell you now it is not welcoming. I am not attacking the super servers, as I said I am on one. Nor am I attacking you, I think being so positive about a community is an attribute we need people to have. However, those who have worked on getting guilds and events organised to make these communities are really showing the servers off in a great light. Is it worth considering if your posts are doing the same?
  12. These sorts of posts make me feel really uncomfortable. Why insult and belittle others simply because of their server choice? I do wonder if you are actually advertising the smaller servers by trying to drive people away from the ones you keep mentioning. I personally play on Progenitor and have had some really fun random roleplay there. It is a good server. I have also rolled an alt on another EU server and had some interesting encounters there too. My personal preference was to make Progenitor my home but I am not sure I would have been so keen to join after seeing such an aggressive person trying to act as a representation of the community. Perhaps consider the advertising benefit of being pro the server you like without belittling the others?
  13. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the teachings and beliefs of the two factions. I can find a lot about the history (and future) of both the Republic and the Empire, but nothing about what they stand for. If these were two political parties what would be in their manifesto? What are they trying to achieve?
  14. It is these two features I play an MMORPG for, and unfortunately I do not agree with your orders. I would love for SWTOR to be top in both but I would order them: WOW > SWTOR > Rift in terms of levelling There are just so many more options for WoW even in lower levels on where to go and what to see that I can make characters in the same faction that go to utterly different places. It really does help make multiple plays through the game more interesting and something I would love future expansions to give us here on SWTOR, not just end game content but more in the rest of the world as well. WoW > SWTOR > Rift in terms of RPG Yes you get a lot more buttons to press on SWTOR but I do not think they add much at all to roleplay. The majority seem to end up in the same result so I just pick the one I think my companion will like as affection points help with crafting so might as well grind them up. Light side and dark side with the points attached make me feel forced to follow one and that just makes it another stat not a story option. I can’t sit down off my ship, stupid thing to be bugged by perhaps but it just seems such a simple addition. It is also much more difficult to roleplay here is SWTOR due to the lack of chat bubbles, again a silly thing and hardly game breaking for most. However, saying all of that: SWTOR > WOW > Rift my overall enjoyment The fact it is new means it is still more fun than a game I have just outplayed. (Rift doesn’t count as it was a tedious experience that I would never go back to). I hope that things will improve over time, and I more than happy to wait and carry on playing as they work on those upgrades.
  15. Fixed that for you. I use just /e which is the quickest and easiest way. Never understood why so many people insist on adding an unnecessary 'm'.
