  1. The class should be named jedi guardian not jedi knight. Jedi knight is a rank. I just screws the jedi consular out of the title. Stuff like this could keep the game from being canon. I am not sure what the original devs were thinking. I know jedi knight is iconic but.....
  2. The skill I think was suppose to be debris I guess. What they should do is base the skill on the environment. For instance, if you are on Hoth you are throwing ice shards. I played the game while it was in beta and off and on post launch, I truly believe the consular was the hardest class to design because there was no example of a jedi dpsing with the force other than force push. It was like the last class to get a showcase before launch. Hell I remember when Bioware called the sage Jedi Wizard. lol
  3. The sub classes are play styles not story arcs. Regardless if you are shadow or the sage you are just playing the consular's story. What you say would be true if sage and shadow had different story arcs or at least had different options when responding to npc's.
  4. One of the first things I would change about consular class I would remove the shadow class from it. The shadow class just does not fit the consular. Lore wise the shadow is a sub class of the sentinel. I am not sure why the original devs put the shadow with the consular. Maybe there was not enough time or money to create three force user stories. That said, the consular should have been a healer and range damage. Jedi sage and Jedi healer (Jedi seer) to be more exact. Or if they wanted three skill trees then they could have gone with a Jedi sage, Jedi mystic ( range damage and healing), and Jedi healer or Seer. In one sense, this class should have be similar to the WOW priest.
  5. Yeah lore wise they were sent out to destroy the dark side of the force. It was poor game design on the original devs to put the shadow with the consular. People would have been up for three jedi stories.
  6. Yes i remember being on my Sith sorcerer and getting jumped by a sentinel. He force pushed the crap out of me and cut me done with his sabers.
  7. I just came back to game and I have noticed the changes to the classes most noticeably the shadow class. The shadow is my main class that I have played. I liked it the most because to me it was the class that felt most like a Jedi. It is strong in the force as well in saber combat. That said I have always felt that it should have never been part of the consular sub classes. The consular should have been the sage and the seer, you know range damage and healing. The shadow should have been part of the Sentinel sub class, which should have been its own base case. Sentinel would have had the shadow and watchmen as sub classes. So the knight or better called the Jedi Guardian would have Blademaster as sub class and something like Jedi protector or Jedi defender subclass. To me the game would have been better if there were three force classes on each side. Basically how KOTOR was setup up. The Shadow is balanced between combat and the force. That was never what the consular was supposed to be. Balanced between the force and combat is what the sentinel is. Not sure why the sentinel was split between the guardian and the consular. I guess the devs thought it was too costly for three force classes or thought it was too many.
  8. Hey I have been gone for a while and just can back to the game and I see Sentinel / Marauder have lost force push. Did bioware give a reason for taking the skill away the classes? I have never been a fan of taking skills away from classes. I kinda hate what Blizzard did with the current expansion with skills setup. I hope Bioware did not do the same thing here. Force push should be a core ability that every force class should have. Perhaps the ability could be stronger with certain classes or even a longer cool down with certain classes to differentiate the skill.
  9. Shadow!! I like the battle mage feel.
  10. One of the problems is that it does not fell like the ultimate Star wars game. It a good star wars game but not the mind blowing game everyone wanted it to be. I mean you can not even pick your own light saber for crying out loud. There is no since of exploring in the game. Worlds are big but not to the point where your are exploring some vast new open world. they played it say in this part. They looked too much at what wow did instead at what people did not like about wow. They said there was going to a soft trinity but really there is only a hard one. They still have not adding in alignment force powers or abilities. The was a major thing from the kotor games. And of coarse the end game lacking. When you are releasing a game in this mmo market you have to have a stellar end game content. If you going the traditional route than you have to have 3-5 raids or end game dungeons that are hard and challenging right out of the gate. That will take time to complete and challenge people for a while. When you are developing an mmo you really have to sit down think about what is going to keep people playing the game when you going to charge to play. You can not simply do what was done in warcraft and think that is ok. Wow already has a lock on that method. You have do more than pvp, raids, and dailies. The have had swoop bike league or pazzak tournaments to earn rewards. Just something to give a change of pace. Bioware thought that since they had all this story in the game, when people hit 50 they would just go play another class story. Not really. Alot of people don't like to play too many alts or don't alts at all.
  11. The thing is that Qyzen used to be a shooter type character. He was a ranged tank character for a while. I guess some where done the line bioware changed him to melee tank.
  12. Make sure you do all the quest. I found out the hard way in beta. And make sure you do the flashpoints a few times as well.
