  1. So much QQ from the top damage that match
  2. What? That's ridiculous. Hell, 4-person groups in lowbies are completely ridiculous (assuming that the 4 people are good at PVP), because grouping is less common and they're unlikely to see a similar concentration of skill on the other team. If you're losing, get better at PVP. If you're winning, why does it matter that some contributed more to the victory than others? Compensating for weaker teammates is as much a PVP skill as knowing your DPS rotation. You should always be aware of what's happening at each node, and the relative skill and suitability of the guards. You don't need ops chat to do that. If half your DPS hits like feathers, you need to be able to identify that as an issue and concentrate your hard-hitters at one node and your feathers as filler at the other as a distraction. A 4-man premade is enough to do that. Anyway, pre-50s are important for people to learn how to PVP. No one is born knowing to avoid charges at top-mid in Huttball, or not to fill the resolve of the carrier and make him unpullable. (Well, I wasn't at least. Hell, I didn't learn how to not be terrible until I started grouping with people who actually were good at PVP who were able to socialize me into it.)
  3. See, I don't think this is justifiable. Why are relying on a solo or double-guard to call incs in time? It's your responsibility to (1) be aware of where the enemy is, and (2) to watch the health of your node guards. Sometimes you mess up and tunnel, sure. But the person who failed to call incs is only slightly more responsible than the person who didn't notice that they were fighting 6-v-3/4 at an objective -- and they were the 6--, or that the solo guard has lost 30% of his health. The only map where you aren't necessarily at fault is Hypergates, because (1) the guard is in a much better position to see non-stealthers coming, and advanced notice is necessary to reinforce in time, and (2) long respawn doors make it more difficult to keep track of how many enemies should be attacking, but aren't.
  4. Depends on how you look at it, I guess. "Roll forward," to me, would mean "roll in the direction your character is facing. In any event, I have no trouble rolling any direction I please in PVP, which is very time-sensitive. So I dunno what to tell you. The roll's a very powerful escape.
  5. The roll is in the direction of the camera. You turn the camera and it becomes a backwards roll. Slightly more difficult to execute, I guess, but not that much more difficult.
  6. Wait...it's not...April Fool's...but creature mounts? FOR REALS? But I remember the story of Ushanev's first run of Kaon Under Siege, note the fact that you're the guy on the manka cat your jpeg, and disbelieve you.
  7. As a DPS - I think that match might have made me slit my wrists. 1.08 million damage and 5 kills? 7 healers? Ugh. Grats on the record!
  8. Unfortunately, Outlaw's Den is mostly only a thing that happens when people make an extra effort to announce it in Fleet Talk and so on.
  9. Wait, I have hooligan status? Awesome! The best I've ever done before is ne'er-do-well.
  10. They're the officers of GD, the largest PVP guild impside. Presumably he's concerned about GD recruiting from the Aussie PVPers transferring in
  11. This is the old version of 2.0 Engineering. There were significant revamps. (For example, the talent you're skipping now reduces the cooldown 15 seconds.)
  12. So I hear that friends share.
  13. C'mon Aroca. Leaving the game after achieving "Dark Prince of the Night" ? Like that would ever happen.
  14. To add to the discussion above: Make sure you've keybound your key defensive abilities and can comfortably hit them instantly when you need them: Entrench, Diversion, Shield Probe, Evasion, Cover Pulse, and Flashbang. Practice using Diversion on cooldown; if there's not a fellow sniper to take out of cover, there's probably a marauder somewhere who could use a nice accuracy debuff. Entrench maybe isn't to be used on-cooldown -- if no one has noticed you, there's no need for it -- but don't hesitate to use it, early and often, if it looks like that might change. It is a key ability, it comes back up fast, and failure to use it early and often is the the easiest way to be a bad PVP sniper (or to identify one). Use Evasion when someone starts a Master Strike/Ravage (the LONNNG knight/warrior channeled melee attack) against you, or when a Carnage marauder is in your face spamming Massacre at you (you'll notice them because they'll be attacking you faster than 1.5 GCD normally allows it), and you don't have your knockback available. Use shield probe the instant someone attacks you. Cover Pulse: Try NOT to use it when someone has positioned themselves so that they'll be knocked right into a wall (and stay next to you). Do not use your Big Bubble Shield as a last-ditch defensive measure. It will not save you. It's best to use the Big Bubble when you have full heath, and have all your defensive cooldowns up, because people will target you to get it down. Use it to protect your teammates in those big melee fights. (Initial fight over Mid in Civil War/Novare, at the heavy door in Voidstar, etc.). As a MM, you are very squishy, and very reliant on roots, knockbacks, and CC to survive. Get practiced at NOT breaking your roots before time. Roots from legshot/cover pulse last 5 seconds, but damage after the first 2 seconds breaks the root -- so you get ONE instant attack after you legshot someone, and you have to make it fast. -- because there's a 1.5 seconds GCD, you have 0.5 seconds to make the one attack that won't prematurely break the root. Then you need to avoid damaging them so they eat the full root, either by using non-damaging set-up abilities, or switching targets. Fighting a marauder, for example, you might legshot - [instant snipe/frag grenade] - [Explosive Probe] - [Orbital Strike, or Ambush if you don't have the 1.5 s proc]. Also, consider trying out Engineering and Lethality. I used to PVP as a MM. I tried out Engineering and never went back. It's just so much fun and it's so annoying to play against. MM is the best at target-switching, Engineering has the best up-front burst (but only every 30 seconds), utility, and survivability, and Lethality pressures the healers best. (I tried Lethality too, but I just don't want to play a Mezz Killer spec.)
  15. You're going to just abandon the guild and the ranked team like that? EDIT: . Guild drama redacted for discussion on the GD member forums. But Approxy, you're totally overreacting to being removed as officer.
  16. I think BW prefers that you submit such info (including screenshots) in support tickets.
  17. What buff do you mean, exactly? Every class gets buffs in 2.0. Powertechs, for example, are immune to snares/roots 33% of the time in 2.0 -- and probably 100% of time they're coming after snipers . Carnage/combat marauders can give you trouble as a sniper, but you really shouldn't have any difficulty vs. any other spec of knight/warrior. Are you using your roots/entrench effectively? After Ops, assassins are probably the hardest class for a sniper. *********** Resilience / Force Shroud.
  18. It's a mezz. Snipers' stun is 4m. The accuracy reduction on the mezz is talented and sucks; I don't know anyone who takes it. The fact that you used the terms interchangeably tells me you don't know enough about the game to contribute useful feedback.
  19. You realize you're not the only person in the game, right? Lats night my lag was bouncing between 90ms and 300ms, with spikes in the thousands. I don't know if it looks like I'm bouncing around when I get lag-freezes or not -- I'm not supermobile anyway -- but I would not be surprised. Lag would primarily effect certain players, with inferior connections. TLDR: PITY ME, FOR I SUFFER.
  20. Falling to your death -- and maybe pulling people with you as you fall if you're a sorc -- is half the fun!
  21. Talented (high in MM tree), it's on a 45 cooldown.
  22. Bah, you're saying you have to be in the same guild to group with someone?
  23. Well, snipers' stun is already the shortest range in the game, so there was nothing they could do to reduce it, mate.
  24. Awww. Hang out more Impside. That said, sufficient numbers of Civil Wars will crush anyone's spirits. I feel like that's all I got last night.
  25. And you're scary all by yourself, Consular Some of us (me!) need to be carried by our buds, haha.
