  1. When are folks typically on-line in your guild? I've checked the last few evenings and found no one on-line. Just checking because I have some recruitment questions. Thanks!
  2. So in your mind, it is flawed game design to encourage players to experience all parts of their game, for optional content. Riiiiiiiiiight..... No one is forcing you to do it, no one is forcing you to get that companion...it is "encouragement". Plus, as others have said, none of you ever gave a peep when PvP players had to play an entire games worth of PvE to get companions
  3. I think every complaint thread here on these forums can be answered quickly: "Pay Attention"
  4. To sum up the OP : "I fail at reading comprehension, and want things done the way I want them". Anyone complaining about not getting into early access only need look in a mirror. Instructions are hard, even when they are spelled out in huge words/pictures on websites and email s for months.
  5. Yea I've only been playing since beta. Good try though. I have yet to come across any bugs worthy of mention....most complaints here are due to people not understanding what was happening to the game with this release.... Again, kudos devs for all the good work on this new content.
  6. I log in, in the middle of the new story, hoping to see how blown away other people are with the new chapters, and all I see is moaning and complaining. Entire first page, couldn't find one, "Awesome job on the content so far" post. I think the devs have done an amazing job with all the system changes they have made, in efforts to simplify and make the game enjoyable, and kudos on an amazing story so far....
  7. I'm coming back to this game after a long hiatus. I stopped playing soon after KP was the current end game raid instance. I belonged to a guild called Rage. We pushed for world first kills, and at least through KP had most in the top 1-4 for the guilds raiding at that time. I also was part of the PvP guild Sleens. Anyway, I'd like to get back into raiding. I have most classes (republic and imperial) at 50, and have started leveling up and gearing everyone to 60 now. So far my Shadow is 60 with mostly 190 dps gear...that should be higher over the next couple of days...so he could raid to some extent. I'll most likely be getting Operator leveled up next on Imp side...I guess that will matter what side whatever guild I'm on is. I'm comfortable raiding on all classes, but prefer dps and healing. So...if any guild is currently looking for a shadow dps, but more importantly a raider/guild member that understands how to play any character he is playing to it's fullest extent while maintaining high situational awareness, just let me know.

  9. Meh, I live east coast and almost always play west coast servers for a better personal schedule. With a decent internet connection you are looking at a 150-300 ms ping...that is what I get in every game I play, and I'm better then 95% of the server. Sub 50 pings are over-rated. But I agree, stick it to the man, bump for a good cause. p.s. Just abandon ship, the titanic won't make it, even if the ping is good.
  10. What does this even mean? It is a given that some people are good healers and some people are bad healers. This is irrelavent to the discussion, and any logical discussion assumes comparisons be made without involving player skill, or "artform and style" as you like to call it. That said, everything being equal, everything is a numbers game. It is ALL about numbers when comparing an Operative and a Sorc. If the classes we were dicussing had more drastic differences, such as an Operative was HoT based and a Sorc was Direct Heal based, then there would be more to this discussion, because the different class might serve different roles, and would warrent disparities in healing throughput. However I don't believe there is enough difference between the classes, currently, to justify addressing this in any comparison discussions. Both classes have two HoTs (one streaming and one instant), both classes have a longer casting, high healing spell, both classes have an AoE heal, both classes have a faster healing spell, both have some utility. So, currently, in terms of role, usage, and need...I find the two classes identical. The only thing to do at this point is to play the numbers game, and see what class is better. I currently heal endgame with both classes, and not only do I find Sorc healing to have better throughput, it is also a class that is much, much easier to play. I don't think there is an easy answer to fix how things currently are. You can't just say "buff Operatives across the board" and you can't say "nerf Sorc". I think energy/force regain mechanics needs to be looked at a little more, and some tweaking be made. There are some obvious places for improvement like Operative AoE of course, and Diagnotic Scan in PvP needs to be addressed somehow. In any case, this wasn't a post to get into the details on how to make the two classes more "equal", but mainly to address that in reality the two classes are very similiar, and notions of "people on my server want one more the the other" don't help discussions. If two classes fill the same role, and are nearly identical in terms of usage, and one performs better then the other (with all other things being equal) then that is a balancing problem and it needs to be addressed, either by buffs/nerfs, or by redefining the usage by changing how the class plays.
  11. If people want to carry on this thread as an opinion piece, I welcome it because it gives me something to read at work. However, argueing over what will and will not be is a waste of time, because it has been stated. The exact text was pasted earlier in this thread. 1. They are going to add a window into the combat log, in game, which will be filtered showing combat pertaining to 'your' character. What you hit and missed, and what hit and missed you, I would assume. A pretty basic combatlog filter. 2. This filtered combat log, the in-game window, has to be derived from a larger combat log. This full combat log is going to be stored on your local computer, and it can be viewed. This full combat log is going to capure ALL relevent data surrounding your character. This means your actions, as well as the actions of those around you, friendly and enemy, will be captured. That is it. Those are the facts. Continue discussing opinions if you want, but these facts cannot be argued against because they are the direct statements from the developers.
  12. This is one of the easiest grinds to max level of any MMO I've played. It is also the most enjoyable. Go play AION at release if you thought this was a grind....
  13. Why are you defining the word Launch as the day you can buy something at a store? Most people would define the word Launch, in regards to an MMO, as the day Live servers are opened up to users. I already did buy the client, I have the client installed, and I have the registration needed to start playing currently. That is all irrelavent though. I cannot due to BW's staggered release solution. I'm not saying it is a bad or a good solution, but to deny that the game is launched is not accurately defining the terminology and blindly reciting marketing terms.
  14. The game launched the moment they let the first person make a character and start playing in the release build. This arguing over semantics is a waste of time. Someone is in game, playing, and the character will not be wiped. The game has launched, the developers said it launched, and common sense says it has launched. Can we drop it now? ------------------------------ (I wonder how many people who are so adamant a staggered launch is fantastic, would be up in arms if BW didn't do a beta character wipe...if they hadn't participated in beta....)
  15. In response to this, and to some guy above you who said 'good raiders don't need combat logs, they are a crutch'..... I think you are both missing my point, which is probably my fault for not communicating it better. Combat logs aren't meant to help DURING a fight. Yes you don't need a combat log to help you get through a raid encounter. When you will need a combat log is when you are evaluating why you aren't getting enough dps in to beat a rage mechanic. Why your tank keeps on dying at a certain point in a fight...was it a healing throughput issue? A defensive cooldown issue? Why your healers ran out of mana too fast. Overall raid damage too high? Who was taking avaoidable damage? When theorycrafting optimal builds and ability rotation/priority. Is 3% more crit on ability ABC better dps then 5% alacrity, etc.etc.etc. It isn't a matter of 'raid experience' and thinking you don't need these tools. Your guild might not need or want them, and get by fine without them, and thats great, you don't want to use them. I can go over a ton of ways combat logs can be used to improve things. And yes I can also go into how they can be abused. Honestly though, no pug (because that is what you are talking about here, a pug...since a guild wouldn't do this) is going to ask for combat logs to be emailed to the leader before you get to join. Once you are in the pug raid...might they see you are performing sub-par? Yes they might. And what happens then is up to the individual player. Again, this is only a data collection tool. How it is used is up to the player, and I will always be for allowing something, instead of banning something, and letting the individual decide if they want to use it or not.
