  1. Totally agree. there are maybe 3 attractive hairstyles for each gender.
  2. Or maybe I am just not into MMO's? I don't know what it is about this game that dissatisfies me. I like the story lines and the characters alright, and the game play is enjoyable if a bit mediocre, but it still leaves a lot to be desired for some reason. I have played RPG's since I was a small child. Dozens and dozens of them, mostly console RPGs, but also stuff like Oblivion and Baldur's Gate. I also roleplayed in chat rooms as a teenager. However, I am not very experienced with MMO's. I played WoW for 3 months and canceled my subscription due to the immense boredom I experienced. Same thing for Ragnarok online. I simply didn't see the point of endless leveling with no incentive to do so. I never played PvP, raided or anything like that. I really , really want to like this game but there are things that are killing my enjoyment. I am not sure if its me or the game though. Several things that bother me about SWTOR: 1. the game makes it hard to socialize with people. There is a chat box in the top corner of course, but the general chat is the entire planet that you are on. This makes it hard to make friends. It's also rather intimidating to someone who is rather shy like me. Not to mention that this limits roleplaying experiences. 2. No one's character is truly unique. While I enjoy the stories, its very jarring to see every other agent around me also hanging out with a bald chick named Kaliyo. (and yes... I know that I can turn off the text over the companion's heads, but still...).Everyone goes through the same story in the same way and ends up as pretty much the same person. This kind of kills my ideas for creating characters. Not to mention the fact that if I want another character of the same class I must go through the same exact story all over again to create what is basically the same character with maybe a change in gender or race. 3. A lot of the reason for buying this game is my interest in exploring the Star Wars universe. The game limits your ability to explore. All there is to planets seems to be endless war zones that you travel through in a linear fashion. You can't really interact with the environment exept to kill things and talk to quest givers and NPC's involved in the storyline. 4. Most of the community in this game seem to have come from WoW. Many people already have met each other on WoW and exclusively play with one another. A lot of MMO lingo is used which is pretty meaningless to me. Maybe I don't fit in here??? A lot of players also really don't care anything about Star Wars cannon or the setting. To them its just a way they can spend more time grinding. This game almost feels like I am playing an inferior version of Mass Effect or KoToR that forces me to pay a monthly fee because there is a chat box in the corner. So does anyone else feel the same way as me? Is my problem my lack of familiarity with MMO's? I really don't like complaining about games like a lot of people who rage on the Bioware forums or something. I'm just wondering if the problem is me or if it is the game. I do like a lot of aspects like the characters and the fact that i get to be a duel-wielding sith.
  3. It does kinda bum me out too. I'd love to live in an intergalactic society and see all the planets and such. Of course this won't happen in my lifetime but like a poster above said, I'm hoping that we will at least find evidence of life beyond our planet.
  4. Yeah true. In her earlier appearances she was a Rattataki, but the Clone Wars TV show changed that to her being a Dathomiri Nightsister who happened to have been raised on Rattatak... I guess she shaves her head? I kinda like the whole Nightsisters version of her though. The developers worked on this game before Ventress was revealed to be a Nightsister. It's kinda obvious though that they used her as inspiration for the Rattataki race.
  5. Wookiepedia has an article on them : http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rattataki Not a whole lot of info there though... There haven't actually been a whole lot of Rattataki characters in the Star Wars universe... Only Kaliyo and Asajj Ventress... and then the Clone wars show came out and said that Ventress wasn't even Rattataki, she was some other type of alien. Kinda sad because I'd say that the Rattataki species in the game was inspired by her.
  6. It could be the fact that they are not really speaking English and therefore the equivalent to our "sir" or "ma'am" is something that is gender neutral. This isn't our universe. As for female Sith being called "Lord", I think its just a translation of the Darth title into galactic basic. It's probably gender neutral as well.
  7. Why would it be unlikely? Again, we are not dealing with Earth culture... As as for the incredible value of male leadership... well I'm sure I don't have to point out the last few presidents to you do I? Not saying that a woman would do better..... I'm just really confused as to why so many men are so threatened by fictional women leaders in a fictional universe with space wizards.
  8. I'm a girl but I decided to play a male agent just so I could romance Kaliyo and find out more about her. She kinda reminds me of Jack from Mass Effect, who I liked so much that I had to make a male Shepard just to do that romance. It makes sense to me that Kaliyo would be bisexual. I just got the game though so I'm not very far and I don't know how it will turn out yet.
  9. What you are saying may apply to THIS world, but you do realize that we are talking about a fictional universe featuring a civilization that is at least 20,000 years old? That is what I can't understand about this argument. maybe in the history of the entire Republic there has only been one time that the three most powerful people in the Republic happened to be women. Maybe its rare, maybe its common. There is nothing keeping women in this universe from being powerful.
  10. Hmm... I guess I don't know why it matters that there are female leaders? Kinda refreshing for me as a girl actually.Scifi fandom can be very sexist at times and thankfully Bioware tends to make female characters more than just sex objects. I guess I don't see it as unusual really since this is civilization is vastly more advanced than ours. Maybe culturally , men and women are seen as pretty equal? If you have force-sensitivity, it doesn't really matter that you are male or female, you are still more powerful than any force-blind person. Gender seems to be pretty irrelevant in terms of how powerful a Jedi or Sith can be. There are lots of powerful female force users in the EU , like Darth Zannah, Darth Cognus, Asajj Ventress, Bastila Shan, etc who are equal or more powerful than some a lot of the male characters. I fail to see how this is an issue. As for physical strength, well, I'd assume that genetic modification and biotechnology could make men and women equal in physical strength as well. Maybe they'll introduce some male Republic leaders. I'd like to see more female Darth's
