  1. This is about the strong and weak points in SWTOR. Pretty much on topic
  2. Some thoughts on what would make a MMO grand. Do you agree? http://danegame.wordpress.com/2012/06/09/10-things-that-could-make-neverwinter-succeed-39/
  3. So, the beans have been spilled, and it's now official that SWTOR have lost around 400.000 players since last update. Well, that's not necessarily bad news, at least not for me. Actually, I have a feeling that the players that have now left, is the players that simply expected this game to be something that it wasn't. A WoW clone. I still see a lot of whiners on the forums, but I have a feeling that most of them have now left, propably returning for WoW, and I am actually happy that it happened. BioWare should now focus on getting new players that can appreciate the game for what it is- a MMO, with a strong focus on story elements and character development. This is what makes SWTOR stand out from the rest of the MMOS, and this is where we need to evolve further. I am looking forward to new updates for legacy and more content in the future. It is my assumption that subs will increase again now that it's more clear what the game is like, and what it's strong points, and weak points, are. Let the rest of us turn this community into a friendly, helpful one, instead of the negative "gimme this gimme that" community that it has been so far.

  5. I think you make some excellent points there. Nice guide. Thumbs up
  6. BioWare keeps providing all these gifts for their players, we just got a free month of playing, and other goodies. And now people complain that they had to pay more for the game at launch, and that new players pay less.... Really, stop being spoiled kids, it's getting really tiresome.
  7. Thank you! Now I feel like a valued customer again This is a very fair way of handing out a little candy. Very well done.
  8. It's usually kids that complain because they have been hand-fed everything their entire childhood, and never had to fight for anything. They haven't followed the development of the gaming industry, and they don't have older, and worse, games to compare to. Their generation can pick and choose between so many options these days. They don't feel connected to a particular game, genre, job or circle of friends, because they can choose whatever they like, and there is always something better just around the corner. Their need for human contact is gone. They might not realise that real persons sit on the other side of their screens, and that their words might hurt someone unintentionally. Their social needs are satisfied by playing "social" games like MMOs, but they lack social etiquette because there is no penalty for acting like a jerk in a community where you never meet other people. When you realise this, you take their insults, bad habits and rotten behavior less seriously. My best advice to you would be to stop reading the forums, or at least stick to reading the official notes from BioWare. Other threads just ends up putting you in a bad mood.
  9. Damn, I have been looking forward to playing today all week. And try out the new patch. Well, here's a perfect opportunity to give all subscribers since beta the 30 days free play time that they deserve, not just the level 50's To make up for lost playtime.
  10. I see no reason to stop playing. I'm the kind of player that wants to experience everything in a game, and if you run out of things to do just try another game, and come back when more content is added. You don't have to keep paying your subscription, you know
  11. That's your opinion. Personally I feel the opposite- questing is much better, boring grinding quests are bonus quests that you don't have to complete, there is a strong story driven campaign for each class and I only skip voice acting if I already heard it before (I tend to start many characters of the same class in the beginning). WoW, while a fine game, have experienced it's prime. It died with the horrible community that now exists as a result of LFG and LFR. You can be an *** in that game now, since you are not likely to meet the players you insult again anyway. The content in WoW is also recycled, and is basicly just a re-texturing of old models. DS was facepalm. Buttom of line: Almost every signle aspect of SWTOR is, to me, better than WoW. Only thing that WoW has going for it now is the guild system and the AH:
