  1. Actually - not at all!!

Sentinel is BY FAR the most played AC right after the Jedi Sage.

Bounty Hunters are just a lot cooler than Trooper so more people play those on empire side.

but yeah, I almost never join a warzone where Republic does not have at least 2 Sentinels on the team, I even had - I am not kidding - as much as 5 sentinels on the same team.

Yeah but do they perform well? I usually see sentinels force leaping into my team and getting killed in seconds. Which is ok cause he's taking on a whole team alone, but what I mean is - they are popular, sure, but that does not mean they are strong imho.

  2. I play a marauder too. My feeling is that he's just not killy enough - and I was considering switching to carnage as it's more quick in dealing the damage. I wouldnt have a problem with the marauder being vulnerable to fire, if he was able to start shredding you to pieces very quickly as soon as he got in range.

In general, I feel that all the other classes are much easier to play than sith warrior/ jedi knight. Being able to attack from a distance is a huge boon, expecially if you can actually keep that distance. Even the fact of standing on a higher platform is very damaging for the meleer that wants to attack you.

  3. Hey, when I drive a car I put lives at stake. When I play TOR, not really. Nice straw man.

    Nope you're missing the point.

With no combat logs, noone knows why he died. Without combat logs, he can get flamed for it being his fault when in reality he died because of the healer not doing his job properly.

Without combat logs, the other player might get away with 2x less dps only because he was lucky with the random damage and didn't get killed because of the healer sucking out.

Also like it's been mentioned a million times before, in end-game raiding on hard content that has enrage timers, without a tool to properly analyze raid dps and everyone's dps in particular you won't be able to advance if someone drags your raid down.

It's not a crutch. Boss mods are a crutch. Combat logs aren't crutches in any stretch of the imagination.

Like someone said before, combat logs are as much of a crutch as health bars are. Why do you need to see your health?

I dunno how you play but I know why I live and die in the game XD

If I see my HB go down and then go up several times I might think "hey, someone's backing me up nicely". Same for crits. Doesn't really take a genius to notice.

Also, what if the dead guy just explained? "I got killed because... I didn't get any heals/I got critted badly". End of story.

I mean, do you flame people cause they get killed? In warzones where a BH can grapple you and pull you into a mob of enemies that will CC you ad nauseam and gank you? Or in huttball where some builds push you into the acid and keep you there as long as they want? Really? LOL.

And even then, the problem's not the dude that died, the problem's the flamer that needs to chill out and take the game for what it is, and not serious business. If the dead guy's good and you played with him more than once you'll know he's good.

I've not seen any super end raid with hard content and strict enrage timers yet, so your point is moot. Even then, people do them just fine without analysis, it just takes more tries.

Sure that meters and the log are a crutch. You can't exactly figure out numbers, you can't figure out skill trees' exact impact, you can't figure out personal contribution to the last unit, you can't do any of that without a parsed log, or you wouldn't be here to praise meters and logs. Yet, skilled guys who pay attention will have an accurate idea. Others won't. How is that not a crutch. It's an aid: you need it to do that.

  4. Ok, no point replying to you anymore.

He's a better player, did more damage than you, died because of the healer and not his mistakes "he's still dead lolo".

Yeah thanks for clarifying for me that you have tusks. You're not getting any more replies from me.

Thought we already clarified that WoW isn't easy a couple of pages ago. If WoW hardmodes are easy then every single MMO out there is very easy.

And it's funny that by challenge you understand "having to carry around people without being able to judge their performance so you never know who's dragging your raid down and keeps wiping you due to low performance".

    Really challenging yes.

He's a better player (not proven by logs alone, but hey, I'll toss you a bone), he still died. Thus I ask again, so what? What's your point? That he's a better player and we should just be glad that we didn't tackle him one on one in a fair fight? That we should bow to his superior skills?

So it's just about e-***** size; you need to be reassured that you did well, that's ok. Personally, I can tell if I'm playing badly and doing poor damage, or if I was able to kill a dude only cause he was half dead already. I can't tell immediately who's doing less damage in a flashpoint, but I will be able to do that after a few encounters. Will it matter? No, what you gonna do? Kick him in the teeth and be all antisocial?

You're just asking for a crutch to be able to compensate, and furthermore, you ask for a crutch to look down on people (and that's very apparent from your "he's a better player than you" post).

    Where's the thumbs up emoticon?

  5. Maybe you should go play singleplayer games then. At least you'll feel better about not having to account for your actions/performance there since they only affect you.

    How's that?

I don't need to feel shy for my performance, 156k damage, 42-6 K/D in warzones good enough for you? Good players don't need a meter to play their class right, or look at a guy and be able to tell that they are not as strong.

Metrics are just a way to "game the game" by removing uncertainity. Enter the world of statistics. It's akin to playing a complicated dice game while always knowing the chances. You just use some tools to influence the outcome to a level that you as a normal player could never reach.

  6. You should maybe ignore everyone preemptively then just to be sure noone will ever annoy you. How's that?

Maybe then you should code some python script to pick all the optimized skills and talents for your character, for each level. Then you could also code something else to analyze the gear and pick the best items, mods and implants. Lastly, you could get to the problem's root and code the definitive bot. That way it will be optimized at its best.

Or, you could pull your head out of your and be less obsessed about performance.
