  1. This thread is like sticking your hand into a hornets' nest! Even though I don't really get the feeling of a full fledged MMO right now, I do think it's a fair price as it's just Bioware's take on a MMO. I don't think all their decisions have been successful, but it is just as much as a MMO as Age of Conan was. [Even though there are way more instances and personal story instances in SWTOR].
  2. The problem is that WoW was still a better game 7 years ago than it's competition. Several MMOs released after WoW was better than WoW at it's initial release, but the problem is they weren't better than what WoW currently was! This whole argument is moot because we're not comparing to games as they were 7 years ago. PS! It doesn't help to insult people just because they have a different opinion than you.
  3. Money isn't really a problem to come by as you level, so it's not really a problem. Other trainer skills will also cost a lot of money as you level, but again, it's not really a problem.
  4. The problem with this is though, WoW was by far superior to any other MMO when it was released. The same can not be said of SWTOR. Times have changed, far more people play MMORPGs now and when there are other alternatives which provides better gameplay than a new release, a lot of people won't do a permanent move to the new game, especially if they are already "set" in their other game. While people have different reasons for liking or disliking a game, it's too easy to simply disregard all their concerns by saying they're a hater. This game has a lot going for it, but it's also lacking in several areas. It should be in everybody's interest in improving the game, but this is not accomplished if all concerns on the forums are being shut down by people who are too emotionally invested to have an objective view on the game. I'm hoping we'll see a lot of changes within this first month, otherwise a lot of people will move on when their free month is over.
  5. I can't believe all the people saying it's a non issue and that you just got to learn how to deal with it. WHAT!? What is wrong with people on this forum? Are you so blinded by your fanboyism that you don't even want to admit that this game has faults that needs to be fixed? SWTOR does many things right, but it's also lacking in several areas and anyone who's able to look at the game objectively will see that. And here's the shocker folks - they are calling those faults out so that they might get improved! I thought we're all interested in playing the best game possible, or am I wrong? tl;dr These forums are garbage.
  6. Same issue and BioWare has said we need to wait for patch fixes for it. Currently I got 3 quests in my mission log that I can't abandon.
  7. I can comfirn this as well. Legions of Lettow had like 1000+ queue 3 days ago. Then the last 2 days we've had ~200 queue. And today we're back to 1000 again. And it's 12pm gmt. Yet while playing it doesn't FEEL like it's a lot of people in the game. So barren.
  8. As I'm sure other people have said, you get a warning about starting to save credits at level 20. + The last few levels gives you tons of cash, so it shouldn't be a problem at all getting enough money for the speeder + skill.
  9. Instant abilities actually being instant. Combat animation clunkyness gone. Looks and feels horrible, especially as a melee class.
  10. This post pretty much sums it up. WOWFARM as it is in SWTOR is fine for PvE, but for PvP it's very lacking. This needs to be a huge priority.
  11. I gave feedback about this as well in the beta. Hopefully they have plans to add it..
  12. We're already seeing some long queues on a lot of servers, and if this was a normal release, this wouldn't be as much of a problem, however, because this is a staggered release, it will only get worse come release. The reason for this is that people have friends and guildmates who have already started on a server, meaning it's not really conceivable that they will start on a different server when all their mates are already established and have leveled for several days. A staggered release means more and more people get access to the game and a lot of people will already be "bound" to start on a select server, regardless of queues, if they wish to play with their friends. If, however, this was a normal release, we'd still have these queues, but it would be much more manageable because people could've chosen a different server before they started to invest a lot of time into their characters. So BioWare will have to do something about the queues, cause they won't fix themselves in any near future. It's not feasible to lock the servers due to reasons already discussed. Hopefully they will be able to increase population cap or maybe even clone the server so people (ie guilds) don't have to reroll completely. Cause like I said, these queues are just a taste of what's to come unless something is done. tl;dr Staggered release only means server queues are going to become even bigger.
  13. Since you're all my friends now, I shall be getting a Christmas present from each and every one of you, right?
  14. I also crashed to desktop after waiting in the queue for 1h 5mins, but I was able to log right back in again, bypassing the queue. On another note, the server queues will only get worse up until some time after release (unless they can increase the server capacities, which I've heard they will do) simply because of the staggered release. When friends and guilds start on one server, obviously their friends and guildmates will also pick that server regardless if it has a queue or not. There will be a large influx of people wanting to roll on already full servers simply because everyone couldn't start to play at the same time.

  20. Today I'll buy a new suit just so I can suit up tomorrow when I get in! Who's with me!? Gonna have my own little launch party with my Jäger friend!
  21. Soon the tale of the Decemberists shall be just as famous as the tale of the legendary Orange Pixel! .
  22. Hang in there folks. Just 3h 11mins for first wave of the day! Which won't include us...
  23. This is the single thread that will break the internet! We're growing in power people! I CAN FEEL IT! THE FORCE IS STRONG IN US!
  24. Other forums where those guilds are using (like a scandinavian fansite which several guilds are using) and forums posts from members of those guilds who are cooperating when it comes from server choice. So far the list is this from what I've gathered: Disclaimer: This is info from forums and might not be 100% correct! Also as more and more servers open, things will get more balanced naturally. Do note that every server is English, but from other games we do know some regions are more likely to use their own language instead of english in general. Info for EU PvP: Bloodworthy - Scandinavians Atho - Scandinavians (and some Hungarians) Chuundar - Russians and Poles Ravager - Russians and Poles Tomb of Freedon Nadd - Italians and Spaniards Legions of Lettow - main UK choice (and some Czechs afaik) These were the opening servers from Bioware, so these guilds just made the best with the hand their were dealt.
  25. It's "full" because most Scandinavian guilds chose to roll on that server. And the amount of Scandinavians playing MMOs and games in general is huge. That's what happens when you have x amount of servers and several different languages / regions at an EU launch. Other regions have taken other servers and so on.
