  1. I agree ! What are our Monthly fees for if not to cover things that arise like this? This isn't the players faults... so don't charge us for something that should be inherent in this type of game to begin with. Agree here again! The only problem with re-rolling is that these particular servers (Fatman for example) will eventually have too many people on them and the Queue times will be outrageous. So, do we really have to spend all our gaming time re-rolling on new servers to find one that Might have enough players on it for us to complete the content as intended? And... why should we have to re-roll a character we already ran up on another server and do BW's job for them? This would then be the players condensing the servers for BW. I think these threads have shown the dis-satisfaction of the community way more than is needed to justify mergers/transfers.
  2. /support I have a level 50 BH on the Lord Ieldis server. This server has dropped in population drastically. There have been times I have noticed the pop on a planet is myself and one or two other people. Even fleet is only at 10 people, sometimes it may get up to 30 or so... But, this still is not enough to provide the community needed to enjoy the game content of (an MMORPG). Bioware, this means (taken from Wikipedia) Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of role-playing video games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual game world. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the number of players, and by the game's persistent world (usually hosted by the game's publisher), which continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game. A total of 10 players on a planet (at any time) does not constitute MASSIVE or MULTIPLAYER as used in the Context of these types of games.. Because of this server pop drop, I have stopped trying to do any Heroics, FP's, or warzones just due to the fact that the wait times are insane! I would really like to transfer this character to another server where I have another higher level character I have been working on. I'm not so worried about transferring the guild with him but that would be nice as well since I did have to pay 5000 credits to establish the guild and credits don't come easy. I think Server transfers/mergers are a Huge deal that desperately need to be addressed by Bioware and not just tucked away with a suggestion to re-roll on another server. Starting over with a re-roll is not an option for me as I would lose all my affection with my companions, all my Crafting and Gathering, not to mention all my other progress on my Character. Why should we the players have to pay for the games shortcomings? I also have a guild I started about 2 months ago and can't even get people to join because the pop is so low. Another issue with transfers are the other Characters I have on this same server. They are lower levels and I am reluctant to play any of them as I don't want to run into the same issues I have on my main. These I would be willing to re-roll on the other server but am just looking for some definitive response to transfers. Bioware... you have a great thing going here! I haven't enjoyed an MMO like this in a long time. Please don't let something like transfers and Server Populations ruin such a great game!
  3. OK, this is a point that frustrates me to no end! Well, I for one do care about FREE transfers! Transfers should be free! Why pay for Character transfers and spend more of your hard earned money in order to get game play where it should be in the first place? I'll quote my previous post: Come on people, I know we all want this fixed, but to just say "I'll pay you more money if you fix it so it works the way it should." is like asking a mugger "Can you shoot me again so I'll give you the rest of the money I have?". Transfers should be free!
  4. I understand not wanting to lose 30 Legacy Levels. That is an incredible feet in itself! This is what I got on the Legacy Transfers from watching "The Republic 81: Guild Summit" Podcast. If you go to this link: http://blip.tv/the-republic-the-swtor-podcast-video-edition/the-republic-81-guild-summit-6004784 Go to 28:13 on the timeline, they start discussing the Legacy transfers as spoken about at the Guild Summit. What they say is that if you have a Legacy on the server you're transferring another Legacy too, then the Higher Legacy will take over on that server. So if you are transferring a Legacy lvl 6 to a server where you have a legacy lvl 12 then you will lose all the Legacy Lvl 6 advancement and the Legacy Lvl 12 will be your Legacy on that server. So the answer to this is: "Do not transfer a character with Legacy to a server where you already have another character with Legacy!" BUT... I still don't see how the Legacy system takes Precedence over Server Transfers and/or Mergers to fix the current Population issue. Legacy isn't the problem! SEVER POPULATION is the problem! Fix This First! Again as I said in a previous post and many others have as well, Legacy at this point is a Non-issue! It's not even implemented other than gaining legacy levels. So to this point it doesn't affect the game or game play at all! Whereas, Server Population DOES affect the game and game play VERY drastically, directly and Negatively! Whether it be with Server Mergers or Character Transfers... Just get the Server pops up so we can again start playing the content as intended!
  5. I feel Transfers should be free! Why charge players for something that is beyond our (the players) control. Let's ask this question: "Why are Server Populations down?" Server populations are down due to the way the game has been handled. This whole debacle comes from the way BW or EA (whichever one is responsible) has been handling it's CS and updates. 1) Customer Service... leaves a lot to be desired and is practically non-existent. 2) The updates, have not been addressing the issues that are top priority to the players. So, in response players stop playing! Now, they're going to CHARGE us for transfers, in an attempt to bring the game up to where it should be? Think about this... Is your server pop low because of you? No, I don't think so. So why pay for something that should be inherent in this type of game from the get go? You're willing to fork over more money (on top of your monthly $15 Sub) just to get more people to run with, when that is the entire purpose of an MMO in the first place? MMO's are meant to be "Social" games. BW is well aware of this, as they stated in one of their first interviews, that the social aspects of this game were going to make it one of the best games out there. Um... guys..... Where did this aspect go? IMHO I feel Server mergers should be first and foremost on the list of priorities, in an attempt to fix this population issue. Then, FREE TRANSFERS, for those that still want them. People just don't want to continue paying good, hard-earned money for a product that doesn't live up to it's claims or expectations! Another company did it right. Free transfers; but you have to stay on your new server for 7 days before you can transfer again. This gives the players time to find out how the server works for them and relieves the Dev team from the same character transfering every hour. It works well for them and their players. As for Legacy... this is not even an issue at this point, as 1.2 has not even come out yet. This whole Population issue should be addressed and fixed before the release of Patch 1.2, because as of 1.2 release, there will be an entirely new set of issues that will arise and take precedence over any already existing issues.
  6. /support I posted this same reply in another thread as well. Sorry for the repeat but just want to emphasize the need for transfers as much as possible.
