  1. Aren't you paying for this backdated game too by any chance?

Read again, but this time slowly and carefully, i will even point out what you failed to read properly :

Nothing needs to be changed, the new dlc along with movie hype will keep this game running for another year. At which point they will release their next SW rpg with far superior story telling, character customization, class customization, graphics, multiplayer adventures and so on and then discontinue SWTOR(unless of course if at that point there are more than enough suckers left to continuously pay for a backdated game).

  3. I think that building a proper end game system 1st and then adding new end game content would be best. It seems EAWare Austin thinks the same or they are just trying to maximize profit by selling story content which 95% of the player base wants. After doing ziost once i am not really hopeful they will provide something good but let's see what happens.
  4. no, what got us togruta was the only official poll to exist back in beta that listed cathar as #1 and togruta as #2. since then there have been a few dozen threads created on various "next species" etc. what people want and what is possible are not likely to clash.

given most peoples wishes we'd be standing around in wookie, jawa and rodian groups where nobody could talk or see each other in cut scenes, nor have any armor that actually works.

of your 3, likely only the last would be seen as viable.

What he said. And if they do want to add new race/species i don't want some walking carpet like wookie or walking lizard face like trendoshan or fishstick or some other ugly **** suggested all over the post. I will take something nice looking, at least in a game i want to be a handsome man!!

  5. Game doesn't have 64 bit support. It doesn't even have dx11 forget about dx12 or mantle. It also have problem working with more than 2 cores and it excels at single core performance, so intel processors having exclusive single core boost system, works well with the game. Adding more and more to the client with upgrading the abysmal engine is hurting the game.
  6. As the title says, it would be cool if we could have 2 legacy wide perk to unlock Macrobinocular and Seeker droid for our toons. At the moment most of the players only take those 2 missions to have those 2 mission items. Those missions just stay in log for eternity afterwards. These perks will allow us not to waste those 2 spot on mission log and make life more convenient regarding these 2 objects and missions related to them.
  7. It's actually the correct sound.

Way way way back there was a patch where the sound got changed to the "speed running" jedi sound. It got reported, they said they'd fix it... now they fixed it.

So we will wait for them to break it again and not fix it for another year or 2..cool...

  8. Just as the title says. A subscriber only perk to store credits in legacy cargo hold and spend from there. if i want to buy something from GTN but my current toon don't have proper amount of credits then the purchase will be done through credits stored in legacy. If i want to buy something through trading with a player then i can trade with the credits from legacy cargo hold. It will be a great boon to subscribers and this convenient perk will surely be a great motivation for people to subscribe.
  9. Hey tait, I noticed the following patch notes for shadows but didn't see the equivalent for assassins:

I assume the fix for assassins is also in this patch?

As far as i know assassin did not have that problem. in 3.0 lots of change done to both sin and shadow, for sin most of the changes worked properly, where as for shadow many of the changes did not work as intended.

  10. Hey folks,

I have seen some questions about why we delayed the patch so I thought I would let you know what caused the delay. There is an issue that would cause character's with certain facial features, during conversations, to have their faces become blacked out or to appear bright pink.

We are working through getting this addressed. Tait will be updating this thread, but our plan is to have the maintenance at the previously scheduled time, tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

    -eric

It could have been an incredible sight, seriously!!! :D Can't believe you pushed patch back a day for that, you should have put it in game. I could have sang "pink is the color of life...." :D

  11. In short: No, not really.

Explanation: While many people view computers as magical devices that can do anything you want so long as you have a sufficient number of interns to code it up, the reality is that even modern computer systems have some hard limitations on their abilities. The SWTOR "servers" aren't single hosts, but host clusters, and while that gives them some flexibility on sharing the load, there still needs to be centralized control, and the load on that central control host is what determines the final size of a server. Of course, there may be other constraints too: bandwidth inside the cluster, sync times to the player database, instance overhead and disk I/O limits. I have yet to see anyone show up with the "wouldn't it be easier to X" provide any sort of thought about those things.

In the end, developers can do almost anything an armchair developer can think up, but there will be trade offs, and gamers and armchair developers don't think about those, and don't like it when they are reminded of them. Yeah, you could have a server with 200,000 simultaneous users. However, you might have to give up instantaneous chat or the ability to search for users, or quicker area load times. And in all cases, there is the cost of actually developing it. The bigger the change, the more software pieces that are involved, the bigger the cost.

yes i am sure there are no developers in the western world that are using mega server without drawbacks. /sarcasm

  12. I've been here since before launch. I don't actually remember a time when players were ever really nice to the devs lol. Are we visiting the same forum?

To be perfectly honest, I've found the forums a bit toxic at the best of times, with only a few people who were actually consistently nice to anyone. I know there were problems with various things in 3.0, I lived with them too, but I can't say I was so angry or worked about about it, that I feel the need to trounce a dev, when they make a lighthearted comment. No one says you don't have the right to complain...look around the forums are full of complaints.

As for Kai getting a role in the smug story...sure that would work, he fits in with that lot. Still wouldn't want him as a permanent fixture though.

If your posts on other threads are any indication then like my guild leader you like to play "barbie game" and you are happy as long as that need is satisfied but for many of us(if not majority) core content is main focus, we have no interest in "barbie game". And that core gameplay is messed up, i wrote it in another thread a lot of my guild mates stopped playing after a month into 3.0, they already posted in our guild website that they are not coming back since ESO has gone buy2play and GW2 is releasing new expansion soon, only 3 out of 10 of us are still playing and regularly logging in. It is a shame to have an IP as strong as Star Wars but to have released a new DLC which manages to drive away players. At the moment i am debating with myself if i should continue to play or just join my guildmates in ESO and GW2.

  13. Hmm, well I didn't take Eric's comment that way. I think he just really likes Kai Zykken, enough to say so. I'm just saying that he tried to crack a joke and share something with us, and it wasn't welcome to a lot of people. I'm thinking if we were a bit more easy going with some of these staff people, maybe they'd talk to us even more, even if it's just in fun. It has to start somewhere.

Why act like a school of pirrahas with them? *shrug*

PS. That was a good line, I did chuckle when Kai Zykken started speaking Huttese.

Players were plenty nice with them before 3.0. 3.0 is like the straw that broke the camel's back. At this point many of us are not in mood anymore to crack jokes with EAWare Austin employees. Why? just look at the mess they have made since 3.0. But still they have the right to have fun(while our day to day gameplay fun is reducing) and we don't have the right to criticize them for it.

As for kai zykken, i hope he gets reappearance in future smuggler story. he seems like the type who would get along with our smuggler.

  14. No need to be upset over someone having fun.

Tell it to the guy who is upset. And also i don't think the guy is upset because eric is having fun, he is upset because thread talking about critical issues never get a reply.

  15. You seem quite upset by another human being over a video game.

wow...way to insult someone you don't even know.

It's posts just like yours that demean, or insult that make me wonder why they would say anything to us at all.

Take your whining to a relevant thread.

I just gave a proper definition to the incident him popping in and then bashed around for the issues that needs to be answered but being ignored. nothing more or less.

  16. Wow, I have to say I feel kinda sorry for Eric. He tried to fit in with us, and thwap! It's like the new kid who tried to make friends at a new school and got beat up for showing his face in their clique.

Probably won't speak to us anymore, just like the rest of them.

No he is just like the crappy salesman who tries to sell a product with sweet words but fails terribly because product itself is faulty and it shows.

On topic of kai zykken : "No speak basic!! umm..ni wana wonga??" :D

  17. He is outrageously hilarious on pub side story line. On imp side he tries to act tough and all but on pub side his squirming is just beautiful!! :D

But no i don't want him to be a companion, i am more interested in Lana, i just wanna put that hot stuff in a nice skimpy costume :p.

  18. Wow, you live in a very tough environment then. Dire consequences for a delay in a patch? And calling it a "failure" per se is questionable. You must have a lot of stress in your life. Now I understand the negativity in most of your posts. I would hate my life if it would be as tough as yours. But let me tell you one thing: If your life is seriously so rough, I assure you that there are other ways to live your life more happily and peacefully. There are other employers, other jobs, other places. Maybe a change would do you good. Less hate, more relaxed manner.

Ontopic: No big deal at all in my opinion. The game is up and running. You can still play as always. The patch not being applied today does not damage anyone's gameplay.

@Jerba: Why are you so upset? You are one of the most reasonable people on this board. It's quite strange to see you outrage that much.

Questionable? Ever since 3.0 exactly what did they do right? You can actually count how many right thing they did with 2 fingers. It doesn't take a smart person to see all the mess they created since 3.0. let's not go back to december let's go back 2 weeks ago when they were going to release 3.1, did they not delay just like this time saying otherwise there would be some quick hotfixes had to be employed? then what did they do? they failed to fix what they said would fix in patch note and not only that they broke even more stuff. And now again they are delaying patch. One only needs to play swtor with open eyes to be sceptical about EAWare Austin's work but of course someone who pretends not to see or think "everything is rainbows and sunshine".

  19. Okay then - sorry - I did not know that as I have never had any problems completing the weekly with any of my chars by doing Rishi/Blood Hunt. :)

That is the biggest problem here, for some people mission is working perfectly but for some people it is not. i had no problem completing weekly with blood hunt or battle of rishii when 3.0 1st came out but then i took a month break and when i came back i started having the problem.
