  1. Her heals are fine. It's her stupid little comments that bug me! "You okay?" "You should be more careful." Ugh, just shut up and stop being so darn perky!
  2. I am still low level (21 atm) but I have played healers in several other MMOs and I LOVE the BG spec! The heals that I've seen so far aren't very big, but the thing is I'm an Energizer bunny! I keep healing, and healing, and healing. As long as I group with competent people who know how to do their part so I can focus on the tank, I have absolutely no problem keeping my team alive. The key is to use Rapid Shots ALL THE TIME. It's a small heal, but it's instant AND free. Even when I've played in a group as a secondary healer with a sorcerer, eventually in a tough fight the sorc will run out of force. Ideally he would manage it perfectly but stuff happens and they can run out. I have not had a problem with heat that I couldn't quickly fix or learn how to manage better. I really look forward to end-game healing because this class is quite different from other healing classes I've played, and it's just plain FUN. If you're smart about your heat and you take the time to LEARN THE SKILLS I see no reason this class wouldn't be great at level 50. Maybe not number-crunching great, but it's a practical and capable healing class in the right hands.
  3. I am also level 16 and just got a load of new skills, but I've played a healer in other MMOs. I know it seems odd to get a skill that LOOKS inferior at first glance, but it's normal. Usually that means that as you level, you'll have the option to spec your talent tree to make that skill more useful, or maybe it's something that can be handy in an emergency (a lot of instant-cast heals are too costly to use all the time but will help get you out of a bind if you really NEED something fast). Just because you have a particular heal skill doesn't mean you need to put it on your hotbar and use it. There are some that sit unused except in specific situations or until you are far enough in your skill tree to make it worthwhile. Healing is very different from DPS. There aren't a whole lot of aspects to healing. You stop the health bar from going down, and you refill it. Shields and heals. I am not saying healing is easy. It can be a tough job. It takes quick reflexes and you have to really pay attention to your skills and their recharge and cost. If you get overzealous and just throw every skill you've got at a target you'll end up overheating (or out of mana as they say in other games lol) and not doing much good. A good healer has to be picky about their hotbar, have a solid routine for resource management (heat/mana), and know their skills (even the ones that aren't used often) well enough to know what to do when the unexpected happens.
  4. Side-note. I remember BEGGING for an RP server in Lineage 2 back in the day. "We don't need any special GMs or rules, just '-RP' on the end of a server name so we know where to FIND other roleplayers!" we said. RPers were so spread out and no one knew what server had any roleplay at all. I think it's great Bioware got that part right out of the gate.
  5. I agree with that guy. After years of RPing, I've learned to just turn off player names and enjoy the game. Live and let live. I am not currently RPing in SWTOR (maybe in the future), but I would prefer to just ignore any trolls and let them get bored and go away. Now, if you're playing on a PvP server... just kick their butts and send them crying back to their non-RP servers. I don't think Bioware needs to set aside GMs to answer complaints about non-RP names... especially when you can turn them off AND when character creation is pretty darn customizable. It's not like some games where everyone looks pretty much the same and you NEED to show player names.
  6. I also noticed very few bugs in beta. For instance: I had no problem setting my character to "follow" another player in beta. Now, I try to "follow" and my character randomly stops as if she's stuck.... even on flat ground. It's annoying.
