  1. Yeah, but recently (ish) they removed the ability for scoundrels and operatives to enter cover (crouch, roll, etc) and made it unique to snipers and gunslingers. It used to be that 2/8 classes could use cover, but now it's only 1.
  2. Hm? I'm not sure about that. Only snipers and gunslingers can enter cover and have the green shield icon that lets you know you got cover against the target.

  4. Mm, now I'm not sure what to think. I used to run with alacrity. Now I'm using 0 alacrity and going for power / crit and my heat / ammo doesn't get too carried away. I thought maybe I was just being inefficient with my rotation, but now I'm wondering if they put the 6 sec. window to tell me not to use alacrity with this discipline. But then again, someone once told me alacrity also speeds up internal cooldowns so... thanks all the same,
  5. Quick question: does having alacrity reduce the " This effect cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds. " window? If I have 20% alacrity, for example, does this effect occur every 4.8 seconds or is it still every 6 seconds, and i'll be running out of resource faster because I'll have 4 GCDs between each Rail Shot / High Impact Bolt instead of 3?
  6. I'm thinking they release a Vicious Throw ability replacement on the CM called, let's say... Vicious Lightning, which replaces the Warrior's saber-throw-execute with a force-lightning-execute ability animation. Now every Sith Warrior wants to gain a force lightning ability to be unique, gets put on CM for 5000 CCs and is sold for 500 mil on GTN. So only like, 20 people on the server have it and unique and exclusive ability animations become the new hotness.
  7. yo... don't sell me better animations just improve existing animations for all I don't look forward to extremely rare, extremely elite and expensive animations used by only rich players.

  9. Maybe they should un queue you when you get formed into a group at first, and re-queue you if the person rejects. Sometimes you accept a FP queue for example, a person waits out the full 2 min, and when the timer runs out you immediately get another q pop but your decision to accept the last group is retained and it locks you in for another 2 min. Just trying to do some group content.
  10. We'll have to agree to disagree. It feels like I'm dealing with a 1v4; the enemy is free to break CC while my team does nothing to capitalize, and use all their mobility actions while my team does nothing to hinder. Well coordinated teams on comms are strong, no way about it.
  11. I didn't say that. I said Mad Dash > Charge > Intercede so you can't be pulled back. And I can't see the battle field, you could Mad Dash > LoS, for all I know. I thought the issue was dying during a hardstun, I mentioned all those things because they could keep you alive longer than the stun. If you've got allies using AoE taunt, even better. And I don't think we should elevate all classes to merc dcds, it would make everyone too hard to kill. I feel like if you're a jugg and you get surprise attacked like that, the best thing would be to CC break > Intimidating Roar and punish any enemies that cc break with a force push for the first and a force choke for the second. Then you can leap out or intercede out. This is all ruined of course if your allies AoE during your intimidating roar, but like I said I don't know what it is your allies are doing during this time. I play all classes, I have no vested interest one way or the other.
  12. you're hostile af btw As I said before, what is the rest of your team doing? Force Wave is 1 possible gdc from 1 possible ally. You say the response from 'the onslaught' is to then use root breakers... but now we're talking about roots vs root breakers, stuns vs stun breakers... for ever cc there is an equal and opposite breaker, if you're enemies use them, why can't your team? There are hundreds of possible team compositions that can verse each other. You're using a Jugg? Why not mad dash away? Distance and damage immunity. Are you vengeance? You could mad dash, into a leap (to get cc immunity) and/or then intercede to an ally. Like I said, there are hundreds of group compositions, so I don't know who your allies are. You've got a force push, a force choke and an AoE mez as a jugg... you can leap to enemies, leap to allies or just leap in a random direction... If the enemy team is doing this stealth focus-fire blitz, seems like your allies could bait a cc break from the other team since they wanna keep up the 4-man burst. Of course you're gonna die if your team ignores you to deal with 4 players on your own, with only your own abilities and skill. And I mean you also have enraged defense, so I'm not sure how a Jugg gets killed in 4-6 seconds. When I'm playing Vigilance I use a (talented) Guardian Leap > Guard > Challenging call (1gdc) towards any ally being focussed. That's 65% dmg reduction for 6 sec. while I'm sharing half the damage.
  13. you're describing specific scenarios where 4 players are competent and the other team isn't even in your cherry picked scenario, it isn't impossible to save an ally being focussed this thread is about stuns...why can't the opposing team use CC to diffuse the enemy team's strategy? Force Wave from a shadow with the root talent can easily interrupt this focus fire why not? because you say so? being killed in 5 seconds was a number you picked
  14. You're describing a 4v1... what do you want to happen? You want it so that 4 coordinated players can't effectively take down 1 opponent? Where are the other 7 members of your team? If your enemies are coordinating to take you down, the solution is that your team needs to coordinate to save you, pull you, shield you, peel you, heal you... I don't want this to be a game where 4 dps have a difficult time taking out 1 player.
  15. Also, why does pve get so much time to accept the GF queue? I've gotten a FP to pop and I click accept, but then I'm waiting for 2 minutes while these people are afk or wtv, then I get a pvp match pop, but the timer for the pvp match ends before the pve, so I lose the pvp queue, and then someone from my pve queue rejects...and now I'm waiting again.

    That's a nice combo and all, but I don't think it's worth it to make a build around a gimmick. The one thing I learned using AB a lot recently; it's radius is small af. I can barely keep 3 enemies in it for the full duration. People pop their root breakers & sprints or dashes and suddenly everyone scatters. Pre-5.3 DO/AB was on a 30 sec. cooldown for the spec Post-5.3 DO/AB is on (at most) a 20 sec. cooldown for the spec + 61% dmg increase sounds like a buff to me

    It's the worst of all the classes, but it exists. I play my vanguard like a scout ship.

Vanguards and Powertechs share a similar mirrored ability: shoulder cannon Shoulder cannon looks pretty good on a powertech but for troopers, having a shoulder mounted missile cannon isn't something you normally see in star wars canon ... Would it be possible to redesign the trooper's version of this ability to, instead of a shoulder cannon firing missiles on it's own GDC, the trooper fires his blaster rifle (using the standard animation and sound effects of the player's currently equipped blaster rifle) on it's own GDC. So when a vanguard goes into his burst rotation, firing shoulder cannon missiles and the disciplines attack abilities... he instead fires blaster bolts mixed in with his other trooper attacks. (WHY?) I feel it improves the aesthetic of the Trooper Vanguard's ability animations. Combat needs more blaster fire and blaster rifle sound effects. I understand shoulder cannon is yellow tech damage, and so the blaster fire would need to also be tech (as apposed to white weapon damage). Please pass this onto Charles Boyd, I'm sure he'll have my back.

    They need to fix bugged utilities and bugged leap & pull first, and then maybe we can actually see how to balance PT/VG properly. and btw, the VG/PT "oh **** button" is taking the 10 sec. 'Charge The Line' utilities and at the first sight of danger, or being focused you immediately charge the **** out of the line in the opposite direction and out of combat. Tactical retreat.
  21. It doesn't need to make you immune to leaps if you're a mercenary (for example). It could be that cover simply gives everyone a small defensive buff and classes like Snipers and Gunslingers gain the extra benefits of being a class that specializes in cover (leap immunity, pushback immunity). Like for example, say every class is allowed to make flank-attacks, but classes like Operatives and Shadows gain the extra benefits of being a class that specializes in flank-attacks (does that make sense?) Basically only snipers n slingers retain full benefits of cover, but cover is also there for other classes with fewer benefits.
  22. what if flanking-damage-bonus was a universal combat mechanic for all classes? (like I've also wished that they would make cover universal too)
  23. I hope the Maul / Shadow Strike positional change has some kind of visual effect that shows you got a flank attack.
