  1. Really - this spec confused me. You have missed two absolutely amazing pvp talents (free aoe snare, and 4 rage every time you get stunned), and you've put some really weird points in Blade Barricade and Guard Stance, they basically do not work in pvp. Intimidation and Unyielding are pretty much mandatory imo.
  2. No. Seriously, without being harsh, just read the ability descriptions, and you'll see that Tanks can be quite formidable in pvp, and in fact are very useful, especially a Shadow Tank in hutball. Just look at Mind Control's description, for example.
  3. Whaaa... I don't think you've played either Rogue, Enhance Shaman, or Infiltration Shadow enough to legitimately claim that. Infiltration Shadow, when specced properly, will have the following WoW Assassination Rogue mirror moves (utility-wise): Stealth Backstab Sprint Cloak of Shadows Vanish Gouge Kick Cheap Shot (Spinning Kick - stealth opener) Kidney Shot (sorta) - (Force Stun) Poisons (the Stances basically function like poisons - in fact, they pretty much are for the Sith Assassin) Whereas I guess Enhancement Shaman and Infiltration have.. what, project? In common? There are even talents that are direct copies of current or previously existing Rogue talents, such as Find Weakness and Shadow's Respite. The spec is basically a Rogue with even more utility and a few instant spells. It plays like a Frost DK rotation wise, but if you take a look at the utilities, it's a rogue all over. That's what drew me to the class - a DK playstyle with Rogue utility, it's some sort of super class, on paper anyway. Throw in Double Bladed Lightsabers and that sealed the deal. Don't see how Infiltration is in any way similar to Enhancement Shaman, but it is VERY Rogue like, with a Frost Death Knight flavour from what I see. Balance spec is maybe half similar, but even then I think it's more like a Frost Death Knight. Played Rogue since Vanilla and only recently quit. But opinions are opinions
  4. Hah, I feel the same. I'll probably be roped into doing some off tanking, but Infiltration is soooo much fun imo, especially for pvp. I think at end game you might be alright to off tank if your gear's up to scratch. But from what I gather, you need two "main tanks" for most fights in the game, so maybe there's not really much opportunity for off tanking anyway. Either way, Kinetic Combat still looks like great fun, so I don't mind respeccing. :]
  5. Well, the Infiltration tree has a few stacking buffs that allow you unleash a powered up version of your abilities. Exit Strategy can stack 5 times, buffing your next Force Breach by 30%, and Clairvoyant Strike can be stacked twice to buff Project by 30%. Personally I feel Exit Strategy should be buffed to something like 50%-75% so it's actually worth going out of your way to hold off on Force Breach until you've stacked it.
  6. DPS wise, SS is best. When you have 100 energy and the increased energy regen from the talent, you can afford to open with an SS, and I still believe it is the best opener because you waste energy doing anything else. After the opener, then of course on an elite, you'll only use it when you get a FW proc. The problem with this is that I have read a lot of threads on this, I love reading about all the theory and stuff, but my experience seems wildly different from everyone else's when I try it out in the field... It's so much better using SS than otherwise. I find project to be completely useless actually, which again, seems to be totally counter to everyone else's experience. I think perhaps it's just that my overall gear is poor, compared to my weapon (which is great for my level), which means my weapon based strikes (SS) are better than my purely willpower based attacks (project). For me, SS costs 5 more force, but does 50% more damage than project, at least, and that's without the Find Weakness proc, and I think that's better.
  7. Shadow Strike is not an efficient Damage per FORCE move, but it is our best Damage per SECOND move. It's still a good opener for Infiltration spec, because of the increased Force regen out of stealth, if you use Double Strike or Telekinetic Throw, you will cap out at 100 force, and you'll be wasting resources. Project is another option for the stun, but I prefer the damage of SS.
  8. You can make the delay of the project animation work in your favour for co-ordinating burst over a very short window (e.g. Project + Find Weakness Shadow Strike), whereas a Sith Assassin will have a global cooldown between the attacks. I LOVE project's animation, personally. Would be very sad if it changed. However, Throw is terrible. It needs bigger rocks to be thrown at the target in addition to the pebbles to coincide with the ticks of damage. Then it's sorted.
  9. It's definitely possible, and in fact a fairly regular occurrence for me. Seriously, the amount of keyboard turners makes it very possible. Against a good player, fair enough, it's a bit harder. You can definitely get two in on most people, even mouse turners, then stun + 3rd if FW has procced. That is not an unlikely scenario, given the proc chance. I'm not really understanding why people are saying a single SS isn't worth it? It does around 50-75% more damage than project for 5 more Force WITHOUT the FW proc (easily double with FW), and it's instant, no silly animation delay on the damage, and there's no cooldown. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, I'm certainly open to being shown the light!
  10. DPFocus might be higher with Project/TKThrow/Double Strike, but seriously, I can kill people in three Shadow Strikes in Warzones. Coming out of stealth you regen Force faster, and you are pretty much guaranteed the Find Weakness proc. You can easily get three in. In fact, if you open with anything OTHER than Shadow Strike, you will most likely force cap yourself. In a perfect world where every player is good at pvp, then yeah, of course it's impossible to get three SS on someone, but when I am using Mouseturning etc. against a keyboard turning Sith Sorc (which is often the case), then yes, they will die to SS spam. Failing that, you have stun > SS, or Knockback > empowered TK Throw. I'm not saying SS is the be all and end all of moves, but it is good, and can crit for ridiculous amounts (3900 is my highest so far) in WZ with Find Weakness, and even without it, if you have 100 focus, it is the best damage per second move we have - It's only when you're out of focus that it should not be used. As for PvE levelling, on Beta, I tried Infiltration, and it was great, but only got to about 14. I had a proper look at the skill trees for a few hours (I know lol), and decided that I'd try something else, so I tried Balance for leveling, as looked the better spec for it. However, after getting to 13/14 again, I realised that it was so much slower, and I respecced to Infiltration. Reasons for this are: Shadow's Respite is ridiculously good for a tier 1 talent, and you can normally drop "grey icon" mobs before the buff wears off, because you can spam SS with a force stun, or even just spamming TK/DS; and also, Misdirection is a movement speed increase, which is pretty much the best increase to levelling speed you can get. Shadow Technique is the best Technique by a country mile (for levelling) - mobs do not live long enough for the DoT of Force Technique to take effect, so you're basically getting a new nuke spell through Force Breach, but I suppose by this point you can get Circling Shadows too, which is when the tree becomes awesome anyway. But I think for early point investment, Shadow's Respite + Misdirection > Elusiveness > Force Synergy. Imo. Getting Force Synergy was the problem, as without using the 1.5 min CD to get higher crit chance for spells, getting that to proc is a total waste of time, you've already killed the mob by then albeit a lot slower than if you had just gibbed it with an Infiltration spec. Just my 2c, having tried a lot of levelling and pvping as both at low levels.
  11. Haha, so true. Just charging in with their dual wielding.. :]
