  1. That was already speculated upon, and confirmed when somebody whipped up a reference to the guild summit, so it has been established. The discussion now is about how a merging would be more appropriate (in theory), but since few people can honestly say they know the amount of work they'd have to put into the system for that to work, we can't determine the likelihood of that happening. The downside of higher legacy > smaller one is that the effort put into gaining the legacy experience (which is rightfully earned) would be for nothing. We lose a lot of legacy experience, and become collateral damage in a change that was supposed to fix things. With this information I'm now also discouraged from leveling new chars in my lower level legacy because of the legacy experience, knowing it will all be wasted once I migrate. People are probably going to blame us for rolling new toons on a different server in the first place, I mean, why split the legacy? Well, for some of us it wasn't as easy. Like I said in my original post: My server died, there is literally nothing to do apart from dailies and grind mobs. My original plan was to create every new char on the same server to pump my legacy up, but if I'd kept making characters on my first server I'd have quit ages ago - cause it's completely dead. As a result, I'm stuck with 4 characters and a high level legacy on a server I can't do squat on.
  2. In a sense, this all boils down to what kind of technicality it is to perform/code such a merging. Simply replacing the lower legacy with the higher one is probably the easiest solution, but if merging them isn't risky business or far too much work, shouldn't it satisfy more people? Say for instance only 5-10% have two running legacies, and 90% would be fine with the simple solution, it would be an easy choice to make, but that would leave us 5-10% at a bitter setback (These aren't actual numbers, just an example).
  3. The moment these characters enter the new legacy they should meet the criteria for those unlocks, and as such you should have all of them. It makes sense that all the characters and their respective unlocks count the moment they're considered part of the legacy. The thing is, it wouldn't make sense if bulk transfers with the whole legacy would be the only thing possible, but individual transfers as well. You'd still be leaving some characters behind. As far as I can tell there is a merging of the two legacies, it just doesn't include the total amount of experience gained by both, but instead only the highest level legacy. The characters from the existing legacy should already bring the criteria for the unlocks the existing legacy was eligible for, and vice versa. Each character you'd migrate over following the one who brought the legacy would bring their own unlocks (in which that character qualifies for the unlock) bringing you in total all the unlocks from both legacies.
  4. It's not about other legacies than your own. It means that if you transfer your legacy from a server to another server where you (yourself) already have a legacy. The bigger (highest level) of the two legacies will become your active legacy, and the smaller one erased. Legacies are server exlusive, not account exclusive, you can have a legacy on each server you start a character on. If there already exists a legacy on the server you're transferring to that has the same name as the one you're migrating to that server, you will be prompted to rename your legacy.
  5. Ouch. That would mean a massive boot up the arse for me and the others in my situation. I mean, it's not like there's a lot I can do about it. All things considered; I can't help but blame them a little for creating too many servers, letting some of them diminish exponentially without any means of migration/merging. I mean, hell, I'd love fixed migration destinations. This whole thing would mean losing ~10-15 legacy levels, left with no consolation and now also discouraged from leveling the chars in my lower level legacy because I might lose the whole thing. My plan was originally to create my republic chars on the same server so that they'd all be united under the same Legacy, but in order to enjoy the game I was sort of forced to start somewhere else. There is probably no way for me to appeal for the merging-solution, either. I mean, we can't know for sure that these are consolidated details, and I have no idea how difficult it would be. Either way, it would suck to become collateral damage from the service that is supposed to work things out. I'll probably feel pissy for a little while then get over it, but I had hoped for a solution that would take these things into account. I guess it's a technicality that would demand too much work, and as such was overruled.
  6. Seen any official statements about this? Or hasn't any details been released at all yet?
  7. Also, any ideas as to what to do on a tumbleweed server (I'm serious)?
  8. TLDR: How will migration + Legacy work out? Will the total experience pools of each Legacy merge into one Legacy, or will the bigger one eat the smaller one? I've been poking around trying to find some answers, which is about how legacy is going to carry through the migration. However, I couldn't find anything but vague speculations as to how it's going to work out. I know migration services are under development, and that these things aren't consolidated yet, or at the very least not made public. And this isn't a rant of any kind. My situation is a little awkward in terms of Legacy. And now with the apparent death of my server (EU-Senator Contispex) things are kind of all over the place. I've basically been on a roll making new characters as I hit 50, and that left me with one of each parent class at max level (or post-40) and a pretty high Legacy level (Empire side). When started seeing tumbleweeds all over the place, and the server having less than 15 players at the fleet (I was even the sole player at the fleet at 16:00pm today) at any given time of the day, most planets being close to empty and no warzones for either bracket, except the half-full empire vs empire huttball match that would cancel after a couple of minutes every now and then, I got a little worried. Anyway, as a result I didn't want to make any more chars on that server, and decided to create a new char on Republic side (EU-Starstorm One), and so far I've got a level 50, 44 and 25 character on there. It was a setback to my legacy level (which is starting to look pretty decent over there too) but not too big a problem. This leads me to the question regarding migration and how that is going to play out. I'm planning to move my Empire characters off the dead server, or my other characters to that server if it stabilizes again. This in order to make my Empire characters enjoyable again, and to unite my characters under one Legacy. What I'm a little anxious (mostly curious) about, is how this is going to play out. I've tried wrapping my head around it, and it would make sense if we were provided an option (check/uncheck) to make the character on server A the host of the Legacy and move it along with it to server B, immediately prompting the first eligible character on server A to found a new Legacy. Then, what if server B already has a Legacy? I'm a little worried that the simplest way of working this out would be to have the Legacy at the highest level eat the lower one, and take its place. The problem with this solution would be that the lowest legacy would be lost, and the effort put behind it (for instance legacy experience gained by leveling characters) would be wasted. Thrown away. It sounds like a better idea to merge the two.Since I'm no engineer, I have no idea about the technical difficulties, or the challenge, this would prove to be - but it makes sense nonetheless. If you merge the two based solely on the total experience pool of the legacies it wouldn't be as simple as, for instance, Legacy level 30 merged with legacy level 10 would equate to 40, but rather combine into the level associated with the total amount of experience points. Considering, as far as I know, the experience you gain towards your Legacy isn't affected by the level-up of your Legacy, this wouldn't give anyone an unfair boost, but rather prevent people from losing a bunch of experience they have rightfully earned. Anyone had any similar thoughts on the matter? Or more importantly; any information?
  9. Man, I was going to **** this thread with "Blizz>ALL!", but then I noticed it it was starter comps only. Effectiveness: Mako>Kaliyo>Khem>Vette Like: Khem>Mako>Vette>Kaliyo I think they're all cool, but there's something about Khem. He's a *********** bad ***.
  10. I've always been an alt-person. I have all classes at 85 on my WoW account (3 85 rogues). So far I've levelled all 4 arch-classes to 50 on empire side (marauder, sniper, mercenary, assassin), and I'm currently working on a smuggler. I can't put my finger on which one I like the most - but currently leaning towards my sniper. I was always one for stealth, classes though. I think it's partially because I like the single-player aspects so much and it just makes me create new chars once I finish one, and that the end-game is a little lackluster atm.
  11. Draith Haryl'm lv. 50 sniper. ...the legacy is variation on my rl surname.
  12. I've levelled 4 empire characters to level 50 on senator contispex in this order: marauder, sniper, mercenary, assassin. Out of the 4, mercenary is probably the easiest class I've ever touched in an mmo. At level 20 you get your main nuke (replacement for power shot), a spammable tracer missile. Basically all other abilities are instant abilities you can tail to your latest tracer missile whilst continuously spamming it. You have stuff like death from above and fusion missile that you can easily switch to should you see several enemies huddling up. Powerful knockback, and a subpar knockback embedded in your rocket punch (talented), heals, long CC and so on. It's the ultimate 'have fun' class. It's not big challenge, but it's more than capable. I feel like I'm on equal ground with pretty much anything thrown at me. If I feel like topping damage lists, it's not exactly a challenge. Bottomline is, it's great fun, not too difficult to master, and there's diversity in that you can go healer if you ever get bored of mashing rockets all over the place (unlikely). - Regardless; the sniper is the character I've deemed my main. It's got great burst, great sustained damage and decent utility. That said, though. It's a reclusive glasscannon. You don't want fair fights. You want high ground and cover, preferably all covered in your teammates. It's fun to play if you can grasp it, but it can be frustrating too. Entrenchment is your biggest pal. Firsthand experience: A terrain covered sniper with entrenchment at the end of a voidstar bridge is the single most overpowered thing ever. They just keep trying to cross that bridge, but it's either the ditch or a bullet in the face.
  13. Rest well, sweet princess.
  14. It's grindy, then again I justify that by it being an MMO. I'm prone to hours and hours of braindead grinding without complaint, the thing is, whenever I'm through with a long grind I always have the cutscene/dialogue to reward myself with. Sure, you get to follow the storyline in the other games, but it ain't quite as full of life as it is when you get a voice character to respond to what you just did.
  15. I played some EQ1, EQ2 and have been playing WoW since the EU release (11th feb 2005), tried numerous other MMO's (Age of Conan, Aion etc) in pursuit of something that would rival the peak feeling I had with WoW. Ever since I started playing WoW I've felt the need of an MMO, cause frankly I just really enjoy having a good one to turn to when I get bored. I wasn't hyped about SWTOR, cause I thought it would be just another mmo thrown out on the market - needless to say my expectations were low. SWTOR is great, I've been hooked since I started, and I've levelled 3 characters to 50 since it came out. I'm not too harsh on the verdict cause I believe it's still in an establishment phase and I won't complain all that much about unpolished aspects, bugs and lack of convenient UI tweaks and whatnot (for instance the LFG-tool, seasonal events and so forth from WoW). I still suspect that the reason I like it so much, and haven't touched WoW since it launched, basically been playing it as my main MMO since then; is because I like the single-player aspects a lot. I've always been a major fan of bioware works, writing and the ability to choose sides, have impact on outcomes of missions and shaping my characters story. I love the companion system, the fact that dialogues are voiced and with options. It feels a lot less like braindead redundant leveling. I'm getting these awesome single-player experiences whilst still getting some of the MMO feeding I crave for. The social aspects, group activities and the PvP situations. The problem is that I feel these aren't as good as they could be. It needs a lot more work still. I'm willing to wait for it while I have my hands full making new characters each time I finish one of them, but I hope the end-game X factor is going to come around at some point.
