  1. 1) F2P and preferred get 4 hotbars - anything less will keep me from returning 2) Ability to purchase extra character unlocks for CC #1 gets me back. #2 keeps me longer. 3) massive multiplayer 3D space combat sim with flagships - ala XWing vs. Tie Fighter #3 is the only thing I would subscribe for. If I want a gear treadmill for a sub, I'll play WOW.
  2. Well said. The examples you gave are excellent at pointing out how charging for things that should be standard for preferred and F2P players only pushes us away. I'm pretty close to giving up on SWTOR so at least the fanboys will have one less unhappy former player on this forum.
  3. The UI limitation has already pushed me away. They had a chance to get cash from me if I stayed, as I enjoy the class stories, but with me gone they'll get zero. Hopefully they'll pull their heads out of their asses.
  4. More than two hotbars is NOT a convenience in SWTOR. Stop defending even the most ridiculous limitations that will drive players away by level 20 when they realize they have more useful skills, medpacs, ... than slots.
  5. I'm not an active subscriber, I am a former subscriber(July) and I can post. You are the liar my friend.
  6. I quit before the first month ended, right after the Ilum debacle. They didn't have a group finder tool. If as a F2Per I enjoyed the runs when using the group finder, I could see where I might actually subscribe for a while. I would 100% subscribe if they added fun, free roaming, multiplayer space missions. I could see myself buying character slots. But being limited to two per server is overly strict for me personally. I have a level 50 and my first alt is lvl 35. They both NEED the extra hotbars. I wouldn't bother trying an instance in the group finder if all of my buffs and medpacks aren't hotkeyed. I haven't looked greatly at the store because of the two limitations I mentioned. They are my personal barrier to entry. I'm going to play some other games for a while and pray that BW loosens up on their hotbar restrictions.
  7. I started using the side hotbars around level 30. There's no way in hell I'm paying $5 per hotbar or whatever it is. I would pay for extra character slots to try all eight classes, but starting with just 2 slots even when I bought the game on preorder? That's a bit too much.
  8. The two restrictions keeping me from returning for F2P are the hotbar restrictions and the two characters per server for preferred members. I logged in and just said to myself "no way" am I going through this hassle of two hotbars.
  9. I only have two complaint about SWTOR F2P model: 1) Locking out essential UI functionality -aka the side hotbars 2) Preferred members limited to 2 characters per server I just can't justify paying for the hotbars I got accustomed to when I played my first month.
  10. I don't know if you'll remember this scene, but it' starts with this text: "Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems is in dispute." and ends with Darth Vader yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
  11. I pre-ordered the game but didn't sub in January. I returned for the free access to the plague event. I didn't actually sub until the end of July. I've cancelled the recurring sub and will be leaving for GW2. 1) Lack of multiplayer space combat - If this game released with multiplayer XWing vs. Tie fighter style space missions I would have subbed. 2) PVP is boring 3) Gear grind endgame - if I wanted that I'd go back to WOW who does it much better
  12. If you bought the game, you should get coins proportional to the initial cost of that edition from EA. I don't see why any edition should be left out. I also think people that supported the game with subs should get some reward per month subbed.
  13. It says that my subscription will be ending soon, I'm guessing midnight CST. Maybe they gave people an extra day? Otherwise it's just another bug. It certainly doesn't list me as having a recurring subscription.
  14. I didn't subscribe and I can still play. They apparently extended the free month a bit. You can't go by todays numbers.
  15. That's my guess as well. I assume it will expire at midnight but found the message strangely cryptic considering they know exactly when it expires.
  16. anyone? I'm used to accounts telling you the day and time it expires. <fell off first page>
  17. It could be, but i don't think they optimized properly. They could have reduced a lot of the voiceovers for tedious quests and instead focused on at least responsive combat, an editable UI, and better PVP implementation.
  18. I can't seem to locate a post that details why my free time isn't expired and how much time was added. My account simply states that it will be ending soon.
  19. As long as he's alive they won't make any Star Wars movies or TV related without his blessing. He also has requested that LA never make sequels to the original trilogy. At this point, barely anyone wants to see Han, Luke or Leia in a new film, but I wouldn't mind people continuing the story after their death.
  20. This game is designed to last a long time. Giving up now will just be throwing away money.
  21. For me it is. Despite what some will say, it is a WOW clone with a much worse endgame. I have no interest in WOW endgame. I would have stuck with SWTOR if they had a working Flashpoint finder that would port me to instances. That is, if it also didn't have ridiculous wait times. Space combat is where they could have differentiated themselves but they chose the less risky approach of sticking to WOW like dungeons and bosses.
  22. If it wasn't Star Wars but a brand new IP I wouldn't have paid $60 for it just like I ignored Rift. If I just want a game like WOW I'd play WOW. The Star Wars IP put this game on my radar and made my leveling experience more immersive.
  23. They do tend to have a a very narrow and focused view of what this game should and shouldn't be. They certainly haven't presented a humble front to the people that bought the game and are unhappy or having issues. Publicly admitting design mistakes puts their heads on the chopping blocks and they are likely very defensive right now.
  24. I've heard nothing positive about FFIV. SWTOR has many positives.
