  1. That's all well and good, but there is one smuggler theme to rule them all.
  2. Now it's not be hating or anything, but if a tank is immune to CC, can't lose threat and can pretty much survive even without a healer.. Then I fail to see what the point of playing it would be I mean the point of playing any class, I think, is to become better at it. So if you're a really good tank, then you'll be able to hold all dat aggro, because you're an experienced player like that and it feels really satisfying. The other side of that coin is of course that if you're not a good tank then you won't be able to hold all aggro. It's not necessarily a disaster either if you hold most of it and the other players are fairly competent, but it leaves you some room for improvement. If you're just by default an ultra-tank that can't lose aggro and can't die, then there isn't really anything to play for, no? other than enjoying the scenery I guess
  3. I never actually heard the old sound as I'm new to the class, but clearly it must have been better than the one now because that is terribly underwhelming D:
  4. He's basically agreeing with you, and yes you're right. I'm Deception, and maul is really one of my prime damage dealers, because of that first trait in the tree as you say.. Occasionally without, as another ability in the tree allows me for some massive force regen for a little while, so I can afford it. Without being specced in that tree I doubt I'd be using it much really, as it's very costly to use. Personally though, I'd drop a few points into deception for the cheap maul proc, even as a tank. It's great for regaining aggro when a mob turns his back on you really.
  5. ^.^ not much more I can add then!
  6. That was quite a discussion, but I'd just like to point out that you are actually not entirely following your own advice, which you probably should do if you want sober debates, since it's mostly good points. You said: [*]Try and be polite and helpful when having discussions, instead of insulting and boastful. But yet the first personal remark is this, said by you, which I would find pretty offending if it was about me. "I'm very torn about even responding to you. I can't decide if you are just remarkably wrong on a consistent basis, or a very effective and subtle troll." I'm not sure I see the constructive or helpful point in saying that. I mean would it have hurt your points if you kept that part to yourself? Potentially he might not even have found it necessary to retaliate with personal insults either, but that's pure speculation of course. Furthermore your later points in the very same list breaks the first piece of advice as well. By saying: [*]Listen, Think, Understand, Think Again, then Speak. It's somewhat implied that you don't think he listens or thinks before speaking (seeing as you apparently found it relevant to include in the list). Again a little bit judgmental perhaps. And lastly: [*]Instead of telling people you have honor, show them by acting honorably. What does that have to do with anything? That's just a good old insult based on you presumably finding his name unoptimal.
  7. Word, you have to think of how you'll like it watching it for the 7502'th time months ahead when you're a pro level 50 trooper. If it's too flashy like the smuggler coin thing, you're likely going to end up ripping your eyes out eventually, which would not heighten your combat efficiency.
  8. Meditating and glowing kinda seems like the opposite of what troopers do though
  9. I think the idea of the gun fiddling is nice, and I love the mag dropping out at the end.. but I agree that the actual standing there prodding at your gun could be made a bit more exciting :/ For instance it could be actually doing a mag change animation (or battery - whatever these blaster things use), rather than just having it drop out by itself and magically have a new one spawn on the gun.
  10. Well it's obvious that no fertile female would be able to resist his manly feline charms.. so really it's quite realistic from a roleplay kind of view - whether you appreciate him or not him as a male player is a different and completely irrelevant story ^-^
  11. So basically you're saying that if it was based on chinese morality or so, being evil would be rewarded more? Sounds a bit strange I think, but I do like the idea of us western peeps being the eternally good guys of course
  12. As some might have said, it's a pretty general thing yeah Really the problem is that it's an MMO in an epic star wars setting, so essentially we have thousands of people who all have been chosen to single-handedly change the face of the galaxy and lead the empire/republic to victory.. Makes for a great story, but clearly it would quickly become somewhat inflated if everyone actually got overwhelming ancient powers to destroy worlds, mountains of credits and becoming the right hand of the Hutt Cartel or what not. However sometimes you really could wish for just a bit more than a few hundred creds for selling schematics for new cybernetics that will completely revolutionize warfare. Maybe a few thousands.. or something.. I'm not greedy
  13. Yeah I agree with the above posts.. Cover does undoubtedly have its advantages, and I like to use it as well, if anything just to look so much more awesome than all the other noobs just standing around randomly. However you could say it's a flawed diamond - sometimes it works and it's a really amusing mechanic, one of the main reasons I even play a sniper, but it really could use a bit tweaking and correcting.
  14. I find a few people here taking epic healing a bit for granted. These healers you're talking about are actually people too and they might make a mistake or come in a situation where they need some breathing room.. Or they're not in ultra-gear yet, or they're slightly noobish. Although of course the healers in your guilds are pro, but everyone can't be in elite guilds, you have to take that into consideration. Point of the matter is you can't always just expect to get spam healed, and in a case like that natural cover > death. Even though it's not entirely optimal.
