  1. I really, really, REALLY hope so. The shared talent trees are obvious proof that Bioware took a short cut when it came to class designs. Now that they had some time to improve the classes i would hope that my balance specced sage would get some melee capability. Not for hammering down mobs but to give some procs for my other spells or something.
  2. THIS! My thoughts exactly. I will now use my insane comparing skills and drag the dreaded Word of Warcraft into this thread (ONLY because o' so meny here have played it) Someone might say that the sage is like a warlock or priest or mage in Wow and think that "LOL LOCKS DONT USE DAGGERS ITS ONLY FOR STATZ". The thing is though that in the very same game there is a class that wields both melee skills and ranged spells at the same time in a combo. Its actually doable! Its been done! Some of us that likes SWTOR might feel that we got cheated somehow when they split the jedi in half. Its rather silly actually because one would think they did it just because they wouldnt like the classes to stand out from prevous mmo classes. Hence the pure caster class.
  3. I like your post OP and i like that people like you come with ideas and suggestions. Im kind tired of the naysayers who proudly stand in the way of evolvement, bashing every written thought about improvement. The dual attack ability sounds very interesting. When target is within 4 meters its a melee attack and when target is 4-30 from you its a sabre throw. Good idea! The willpower thing should also be in the game ofc. I have some other ideas also when it comes to the talent trees. I dont like the idea how its built now with a whole tree only consentraded on healing. My idea is to merge the two offensive trees together and take some of the leftover talents and put them into the healing tree and into a new tree that would combine melee and offensive spells. Then it would be something like HEAL/OFFENSIVE SPELLS - OFFENSIVE SPELLS - MELEE/OFFENSIVE SPELLS instead of what we got now: HEAL - OFFENSIVE SPELLS - OFFENSIVE SPELLS. Im no dev or number cruncher and my ideas are pretty rough but i know that the devs could do right with it.
  4. I can agree with that. Sages should not be masters of melee since its clearly based on deep knowledge of the force etc, but replacing a few force attacks (not by removing them, but by choosing not use them) with melee attacks without getting left behind dps wise should be a possibility imo. That would make the class more interesting in general and maby it would apeal to more players.
  5. I actually think the best thing would be to remove the sages ability to wield a light sabre at all since its clearly no jedi from the star wars universe the most of us is familiar with. Its just a arcane mage slash holy priest imposter (for those who only got Wow as a reference. Obviously there is alot of them in here). Maby the best solution would be to give a few force goodies to guardians and shadows instead.
  6. I can agree with OP. I myself thinks that Jedi Knight is a good class. Both sentinel and Guardian. But when it comes to Counslar (Sage and Shadow), I feel that they split an iconic character in two in a bad way. When i play Sage I find the lack of melee disturbing but im amazed about the nice force abilities like Forcequake, telekinetic wave and disturbance. When i play Shadow i like the melee capabilities but hate the way it handels force abilities. Specing tank is not for me, infiltration and stealth is to much melee and Balance is based on dots (***?). I dont really care about dps numbers so its just how the classes is built up that bothers me. Anyways. I just go and play somthing else right? Cuz opinions is not alowed
