  1. I've had this happen like once out of eight or nine times I've done FE. He popped right back up so we knocked him right back done. No sweat.
  2. I'm currently pvp'ing with around 100 expertise in mostly columi gear. Do I feel squishy? A bit. That being said, as I don't have to worry about dots as sharpshooter breaking my roots, it is fairly easy to kite 2-3 melee while los'ing any ranged dps trying to attack me, assuming the rest of my team is being useful. When they stop chasing me, it's not difficult to burst bm geared squishies (marauders/sorcs/dps assassins/other snipers/mercs/ops/dps powertechs, etc.) for 1/3-1/2 their life in 1-2 gcd's, depending on what crits. Attacking tanks with cd's up sucks, yes, but that's true even on my shadow. I can't speak towards sab or dirty fighting, as I haven't tried those at 50, but if you think sharpshooter damage is bad, or lacks burst, you're doing it completely wrong. That being said, if they have a couple ops on their team who know what they're doing, I can pretty much count on being dead most of the match, but that's mainly due to the joys of pvping with <100 expertise.
  3. Don't, for example, interrupt diagnostic scan or the sorc channeled heal.
  4. In a pve spec, balance uses shadow strike too. Played correctly, balance is much more difficult than infiltration imo. For those of you looking for the spec/priority list, track down the shadow's handbook and find the balance section, it is still basically the same.
  5. Kiting as a gunslinger is fairly easy, especially against marauders/juggs as their gap closer can be avoided with clever use of roots/cover
  6. They might not be useful for the companion though. You won't be able to use 8-10 belts/bracers as companion gear.
  7. What precisely are the difficulties that you're having? Is the boss hitting enrage? Are the puzzle solvers dying from mines or getting knocked off? Are the tanks dying? We could probably offer better suggestions if we knew what your specific group was having issues with. Good luck!
  8. That seems odd. Make sure you're changing the difficulty setting from your portrait and maybe try resetting the operation. Good luck!
  9. I have no problem with using a focus as a dps in pvp. The large amount of extra force power works better for me than a small chance to shield an insignificant amount of damage from a small selection of attacks. Idk though, maybe I'm just not understanding your request.
  10. For me, at least in pve, I find maximizing my dps to be more challenging than tanking or healing. If you're tanking and stay alive and held aggro, then you can feel pretty good. If no one died and you're healing, the same. If I'm dps'ing I always wonder whether I could of eked out a bit more damage.
  11. I'd probably wear the columi over the centurion unless I had like <200 expertise.
  12. Using TKT for the second charge of force potency works pretty well if you won't cap out on force either. If you're not using it for project to proc TD ofc.
  13. As the poster before you explained, the proc will be mitigated in exactly the same way. Just like weapon damage, both kinetic and energy damage are mitigated by armor. The only thing that will change is that now the attack and be deflected/parried/shielded. With enough accuracy, you will only have to be worried about the shielding part, which should only happen against tanks.
  14. He was probably kinetic spec (or w/e the assassin equivalent is). At three stacks of harnessed shadows their telekinetic throw (force lightning) becomes unable to be interrupted.
  15. I don't see a problem with it being up to personal tastes. If I liked lightning, I'd play an inquisitor. I happen to love the project animation and I'm fairly fond of telekinetic throw as well. I certainly don't get the impression that I'm some sort of shaman. The lore argument is pretty flimsy as well. I'm glad I'm not "balanced" lore-wise so I could single handedly kill hundreds of bounty hunters/agents without breaking a sweat. Besides, there's plenty of examples of jedi using the force to pick up objects in the movies. Of course, using the force offensively at all seems like a pretty dark-sided thing to do. I guess they should make consulars only able to heal.
  16. Too add to this, it's easy to mistake a root for a stun sometimes, particularly as melee. Also, using a cc on someone who's immune (jugg/guardians after leap or smug/agents in hunker down) can give the impression that something is broken when it isn't.
  17. Yeah, gameplay issues aside, I absolutely love seeing the project animation and would be very disappointed to see it disappear or become sage only.
  18. Well, I personally run a balance spec, so am aiming for 25-30% crit in my final set of gear. If I was going to do infiltration however, I'd drop as much crit rating in favor of power as possible (so use the champ saber over the battlemaster saber, imo).
  19. Unfortunately, this is correct. I like using both the on use shield/absorb and defense relics. They don't share cooldowns, though using one will make the other one unusable for a little while.
  20. Glad to see Dyvim is quoting my posts so I don't have to re-write them. Calling this a Pandora's box is a huge exaggeration. In fact, we have no idea what change they'll make at this point, so all this speculation is pretty useless. Perhaps they'll switch up animations, perhaps they'll make the damage hit instantly, or perhaps they'll make shocks damage delayed. Perhaps they'll even do something none of us have thought about. As for the whole using the delay in pvp as an "exploit" (lol?), I find that attitude absolutely hilarious. People have been using the intrinsic delay on animations to help them burst in games forever. It is fundamentally different than using a proc of force-bending for two heals (your doing the same damage over the same amount of time, force-bending lets you do the same damage over half the time twice). Look around the forums, there are plenty of examples where people use the delay in their skills to set up burst. It's hilarious that just because you don't like the delay (or can't figure out how to utilize it properly) you feel the need to say it's exploiting.
  21. I'm almost certain that both heat and ammo are calculated using the same method (not sure if it's the 100 point scale of 12 point scale though) and then simply displayed differently.
  22. Yeah, this is an amazing fight. Would love to see some op fights of similar complexity (well, more complex, since it'd be in an op, but yeah, you get the idea).
