  1. I had a question about receiving the alliance supply crates from heroic missions. I understand that you can start heroics from the NPC for a particular star fortress to get supply crates. You can also go to the heroic terminal and pick up any heroic and it will give a supply crate for a reward IF you are on a character that has completed the KotFE quest chain sufficiently. My question involves characters that have not started the KotFE chain. To preface this, both my sorc and sage have completed Ch 9 in KotFE and have destroyed 1 or more star fortresses. On my assassin, who has not started KotFE, I can go the heroic terminal and pick up missions that reward a supply crate (and since they're bound to legacy I can transfer them to my sorc that has completed Ch 9 and turn them in for rep). On my shadow, the heroic terminal quests do not reward a supply crate (and have the typical gear box reward they had previously). My sorc/sage have both completed KotFE to the same extent, and my shadow/sin both started at lvl 60 with no involvement in the KotFE quest line yet. Why can one character pick up heroics that reward supply crates and the other cannot? Is it a glitch that a non-KotFE character can be awarded supply crates prior to any quest completion? Has anyone else experienced this? Edit: Checked on 4 more lvl 60 characters (2 imp 2 rep) and none of them can get supply crates from the heroic terminal, but my sin still can. Seems like a bug, but I have no idea how to initiate it.
  2. It's not a bug in that you can discover the exarch version (220). However, when I REed this to the exarch version, it required the additional mats to craft but had identical stats and item rating to the 216 version. I believe this is a bug. I've REed the lightsabers with artifice and the 220 version does indeed have better stats. Has anyone else encountered this bug or able to craft the exarch implants with 220 rating? Edit: Meant to add the RE chance is indeed 100%
  3. Confirmed post xpac that I still have 3rd anniv. memorials in my inventory and they can still be traded. Contact me in game or in this thread if you're interested in purchasing.
  4. I still have 2 of these on Harbinger. I was selling them prior to 4.0 release. They could not be listed on the GTN but could be traded to players. I will verify (when servers are up) that they can still be traded. How much were you looking to pay? You can contact me in-game as well on Tubby'Juan (Harbinger empire side)
  5. I've been offering sets on Harb for 3.5m (minus the fireworks launcher) and having a hard time selling them. No offense, but 15M is outrageous. I understand that it's no longer obtainable, but I think most/many current players were around to buy it when it was available. Give it a couple more years and (if SWTOR is still around) it might be worth 15M..
  6. Sounds like fun! I will be there on Stocky'juan (imp) or Buzz'stockington (pub).
  7. I like what you're attempting with the formula. I could state why but it's been said several times. In essence, this. No formula is going to be perfect on the first try. I think the weighted average approach is a good one, but your coefficients might require adjustment. I'm not suggesting a specific change, just that you'd have to validate this formula with many data sets and adjust accordingly. If you want to try a practice run to collect more data I'd be up for it.
  8. I was pretty surprised to see 12.5 mil damage (11.5 mil of which was on a flashfire). I'm glad we can track these stats now in any case.
  9. Maybe add an additional on-use effect too. Something similar to ion rail's effect on ships, so any ships in the same 5000m range would be slowed or have regen disabled for x amount of time (but proportional to the amount of shield discharged). This could make it more enticing as it's also useful in dogfights.
  10. This sounds like a cool idea on paper or as a mental exercise, but I think there would be a disconnect with implementation and proper balancing. Sure that's an issue with any new ability, but I personally would prefer to see balancing of existing abilities (so that, if played correctly, most/any combos of component choices would at least be viable). A lot of current components are conceptually interesting but no one would use them because they're at a disadvantage (e.g., ion missile). This one might end up the same. It's interesting, but only provides situational advantages (which could also be said of many other component choices). I guess my point is that if it were in game, I don't see who would take the ionized shield over other options (i.e., I could use distortion and have regular shielding plus 6 secs virtually unhittable on use OR have a gimped shield that can pop mines on use IF you encounter them).
  11. Stumbled across this reading forums. We could really use more helpful people for those new to GSF. I always try to do the same if people ask, but most people are afraid to ask. Don't worry, everyone was terrible at GSF once. On a side note, we should all discuss builds again sometime. I've changed mine a decent bit and am having a lot of success with it. I'd like to hear what you all are doing as well.
  12. I've got the legacy perk and usually use an xp consumable. I find it a pretty decent way to level (if you have ridiculously long queue times on your server then that might change). At the end of the day, if you enjoy GSF more than ground game, it's a good way to level.
  13. I see multiple entries for GSF Firsts. Are these top 3, or going by server? In any case, here are my 3 for: Buzz'Killington - Pot5 - no guild http://i.imgur.com/MemuDdx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/27dBvAJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sRXCQgn.jpg
  14. I had considered this. But the mail he sent me now says it's from "Character has been deleted"
  15. Couldn't agree more. I enjoy the challenge of seeing you guys on the other team. Pot5 seems to have the healthiest balance, whereas on every other server one faction seems to steamroll most of the time (at least from what I've heard/read, I haven't played on them). Skilled players fighting skilled players is how we all get better and keep this new content going strong. Just my two cents, but it wouldn't surprise me if we start seeing an influx of GSF players to this server because of the healthy competition.
  16. I favor armor ignore (from a scout using burst lasers perspective). It let's you two shot turrets (1 shot with a crit). Plus, the other option is 9% shield piercing (compared to 100% armor ignore). Take the 18% bonus to shield damage in the bottom tier and use bypass. I find the 9% negligible and have no issues burning any kind of ship without it.
  17. My pub flyer is Buzz'Killington. My imp is Disgustipated. I've seen you on both from time to time. Actually I don't know if I killed you in our matches yesterday, but I had a few kills on Toe for sure.
  18. Don't buy into the cheating rumors - I've been accused/reported as well by imp players. Get over it guys, I seriously don't think anyone has figured out how to cheat. And would you really want to? I've been against Toe and Shadowfist in several games. And don't get me wrong, they're both great pilots, but I got some kills on each of them (and they to me to be fair). What I mean to say is that no one is invincible, no one is using hax, and calling people cheaters doesn't do anything but make you look bad.
  19. Thanks for the responses. I couldn't agree with you guys more. When I see a good pilot (or pilots) on the other team, I really enjoy the competition. There are a few pilots (on both factions) that I respect as great players, and playing against these folks is what allows you to improve. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the the scenario where there are so many bads in my sights I can't recharge blasters fast enough, but those games don't allow you to improve. Props to the good pilots! Don't call us cheaters, just practice. Not trying to sound elitest (I help new people when I can), just don't call me a cheater when I own you.
  20. Buzz'killington here. I'm actually leveling with GSF, but anyone who's been on my team knows I'm no amateur (220/250 top damage matches so far). I'm solo on pub side, but if you guys are looking for a good flashfire pilot, hit me up.
  21. This may be a bit of a rant so, the TL-DR is - don't call people cheaters in GSF and fraps/report them just because you don't understand the mechanics/situation. I was playing GSF on a pub alt today (POT5) and after a game, an imp player logged over and said "I've just frapsed your instakills, you will be reported and banned. Goodbye!" I tried to respond but the coward logged before I could. So I sent him a mail explaining. He responded that what I said was impossible and then DELETED THE TOON so I couldn't respond again. The situation is this: I "one-shotted" his upgraded scout with my flashfire. While this does seem a bit OP, it's not cheating in any way. To explain, I had fully upgraded burst lasers with blaster overcharge and bypass rolling. Then, I got a crit on him that "one shot" him (however it may have been two quick burst laser pulses, I really don't remember). It happens. Not often, but it does sometimes (in fact I've been on the receiving end a time or two). The overall point I'm trying to make here is that GSF is new. There are mechanics that most people still don't understand. Calling people cheaters because you're getting owned is really just a self-insult (i.e., this guy is beating me so bad he MUST be cheating. but he's not cheating, so you're just bad). Maybe I'm beating a dead horse here but I don't think this point can be stressed enough. I fully welcome balance changes when come because, let's be honest, it's no fun to be on the receiving end of a beatdown due to an OP ship/class. But GSF is so new that no one really knows what proper balancing should be yet (with the exception of no ion gun love taps from gunships). Just my two cents. Anyone else been accused of cheating for handing out wicked beatdowns?

    Sigh PVP bags

This is getting to be a bad joke. And before I get flamed, yes I will continue to play and yes I will continue to pvp. But seriously, what an awful system. I've now opened 42 bags only to receieve 2 belts, 2 earpieces, and an implant. Meanwhile, my wife has opened around 20 bags and has 5 piece champ gear, belt, implants, earpiece and MH weapon. i mean just LOL Bioware...I have no problem earning my gear but the RNG on these bags is just stupid.
  23. 26 bags so far and only seen bracers and 2 earpieces. Looks like some have had even worse luck. It seems to me the best solution would be to do 2 things. 1. Increase the number of centurion tokens per bag (so the extremely unluckly can at least have something to show for their efforts). 2.(possibly) Lower the drop rate on champion pieces from bags (so tons of baddies aren't running around in great gear). My issue is not that I haven't been given free gear. I have no problem working for it. But when the Valor Rank 18 idiot next to me has 5 piece champ but still can't pass a huttball, I start to feel like there's something wrong with the system.
  24. Here's my 2 cents from a Biochem who's done nothing but focus on level 49 artifact level implants (max skill level obviously). - Going green to blue (average) takes me 5-8 RE's (most I've seen was 20) - Going blue to purple (average) takes me 8-12 RE's (most I've seen was 35) - Have REed over 50 lvl 49 artifacts with no luck at getting a legendary. Also, to follow up on a previous comment (in regards to getting stat comps that are useless), I've obtained several "Redoubt" versions of impmants for classes/specs that can't even tank (shield too). Also, I had a great tank implant going (STR, END, ACC, DEF), only to have the epic proc Presence lol. This sort of stuff is very frustrating. Hope this provides some useful info for others. If you have any questions, or anything's unclear, let me know.
