  1. Welcome to the world of PC gamers. They think they HAVE TO have 60 frames on max settings for the game to be playable. And they will make you feel bad for thinking otherwise.
  2. What makes it so bad? All I here is people complaining that the hero engine is bad, but what about it is bad?
  3. To make up for Boring/unchanging questing I do every class mission a level or two before I'm supposed to. It's made the game way harder.
  4. Actually in my Beta weekend the game ran worse, virtually unplayable on my laptop. Now it runs slightly better and medium textures are loading correctly. Unlike beta where when I upped the graphics at all it loaded, but quickly unloaded.
  5. Low res? Have you played MMO' or are you like the CoD fans that flocked to Skyrim just to later say that it sucked? MMO's are intentionally designed so that they can be run on lower end computers. Still from screen shots that I have from Higher end computers then my own, the game looks astonishing for an MMO. I mean it's no Battlefield 3, or Rage, but it's certainly prettier then WoW, even on "Low Res"
  6. I think that the person who suggest this build, was thinking ahead upgrade wise and such. On a couple other threads he mentioned a newer version of the i5 due out in a few months or something. However in a few months I won't be looking to upgrade after dropping this much on a computer already, so I figured I would just go with the current i5.
  7. Sadly that puts it just out of my price range. I was however thinking of going with an i5 though.
  8. So my laptop runs this game really bad. Like... 20 FPS is the highest I have ever seen on lowest settings bad. Mostly I run at about 8-12 FPS. I asked this already on the WoW forums, but didn't mention this game to avoid flame. (Seriously have you been to the WoW Games gaming and hardware forums? You don't mention SWTOR there..) I personally plan to play both MMO's, why? Because I find them both enjoyable. I have been playing WoW more at the moment though because my laptop barely runs this game. Someone on the WoW forums recommended this: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CPU: Intel i3-2120 @ $140 Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 Motherboard @ $122 RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL @ $47 Graphics Card: HIS H687FN1GD Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card @ $140 Hard Disk: HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000.D HDS721010DLE630 (0F13180) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive @ $120 DVD Burner: LG DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH24NS70 - OEM @ $18 Power Supply: PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III PPCMK3S500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply @ $60 Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Black SECC/ ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case @ $50 Total Price: $679 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Does this look good, and how will it run SWTOR? Better then lowest @ 10 FPS would be great!
  9. Okay, I saw a post in here that made me comment, it was one about tanks and healers not liking LFG because they liked people kissing up to them and such. In WoW, pre LFG I played a healer. Generally all I had to do was post in chat Healer LFG any 70+ instance. Sometimes I would get a group that just needed a healer, sometimes I would get an 80 trrying to run his pre 80 dps buddy through an instance, and wanted a healer for tht extra security. Sometimes, however it would be an hour, looking for 1 tank. Do you want to know what I did? I started adding tanks to my friends list, you know, the ones I thought were good. from 70-80 in wrath I must have met 5 consistent, reliable, really good tanks. They made up most of my friends list, but you know what? Generally here was our conversations: "Hey Pad, wanna run an instance?" "Sure Are, let me ask my guild if any DPS want to come" "Thanks man" Eventually I became friends with some of them, others just people I called on for instances if no one else was on. Sometimes they asked me, in fact I ended up running regular Halls of Lighting like 10+ times in one day, trying to get this certain tanking trinket to drop for one of these tanks. Did they suck up to me? No. Was it enjoyable? Yes. Currently in WoW I hit the RDF tool, and we either go through with no talking if everything is smooth, and people whining if things are bad. People get vote kicked for no reason, DPS complain about every mistake the tank/healer makes, and if you have never been there you get kicked. I hate it.
  10. I would say that we are at the time that a lot of people are searching for that "Perfect Class" So there leveling to somewhere between 11-14 and restarting, making Typhon, Korriban, Hutta, Ord Mantell, Courascant and Dromund Kaas the "Major leveling areas" right now. However when I log in there is mostly always over 100 people on Balmorra. Nar Shadaa is next, so I will see how that planet holds up. But I just think that the OP is whining that he leveled faster then everyone because unlike the people that rushed to 50 or even those that only semi rushed, my highest level toon is only 19 at the moment, I can't really start playing until after christmas, and I'm sure for a lot of people, it's the same.
  11. At first I thought he was being serious, and then I took an arrow to the knee. But yeah..... Those are all terrible ideas.
  12. I love huttball, I also love Rifts Black Garden or whatever. The PvP in WoW just never appealed to me, I mean, I tried, I did... I just couldnt get into it... I love haveing to actually press a button to attack, makes the game feel more alive to me. When I tried to go back to WoW after SW:ToR released I was bored to tears, and this was in Dragon Soul. Then I tried to level my DK, which before SW:ToR released was my new favorite class, and the auto attack made the game feel... slow. All in all, I dont think I play an MMO with Auto Attack again.
  13. Eh, I would say the casual player would be between 40-60, somewhere in there.
  14. Play WoW for 20 hours and see what level you get to. I can gaurentee it will be higher then 20
  15. Gratz on the Job Interview! But... I don't expect to get in until tomorrow. And even then..... luck is not my friend.
  16. Personally I played two toons on the beta, a Sith Warrior that I was playing with a friend who had made a Sith Inquisitor. We were watching each others scenes for most of korriban before we went our own ways. It took me 10-11 hours to hit 12 on him. My other toon was a Jedi Councilor, and I hit 11 on him. This guy I played by myself, and it took about 8 hours to hit that level. Now let me compare this to WoW. In 4-5 hours depending on the starting zone I hit 10 in WoW. In 11ish hours I hit 20. What I'm trying to say is that the leveling in ToR is still more difficult then in WoW. And I love that.
  17. I would imagine that you will still get in today, so still not that huge a difference.
