I like this idea. I don't see how it could be game breaking as long as it is just "social points" and not XP or anything.

I've found (in other MMOs and so far in this one) that RP servers have a nicer community and less elitists running around. No server is completely free of them, unfortunately, but RP may be your best bet. Too bad you aren't on the West Coast or I'd recommend mind, but (from what I have heard and seen here) the best East Coast RP server is probably Ebon Hawk.

Hi there, I don't often play past 11pm PST so can't tell you how RP is late night, but we have pretty good RP during day hours. As with most RP servers it comes in bursts as people are leveling. Once more people get to 50 I am sure it will pick up even more. If you are just looking around for a server to call your home, I recommend the following: Log in to potential RP servers during the hours you will be playing and join their RP and OOC chat channels. Not all channels constantly have activity, so send a friendly message asking others how they think RP is during those hours. Be sure to use OOC brackets if in their RP channels Check out the unofficial server forums thread here and check out the various RP servers, then visit the forum sites listed. You may have to consider playing on a server that is not physically located near you, or in your time zone. European servers may have more activity during the U.S. non peak hours. Check it out first to make sure you don't experience any connectivity issues or lag. Another suggestion is to check out our unofficial community site for Vrook Lamar (west coast RP server) you can create a post there asking others if they know how active RP is during those hours. Ah I see, thanks for the clarification. I have three monitors so with WoW I would use the same computer and window mode each session in a diff monitor. I don't think you can have more than one session per computer running with SWTOR though.

In Beta it wouldn't allow me to have two instances of the game running at the same time. It was something I was curious about so I tried my Fiance's while I had mine open. I dunno if it is still this way, but even with the auto-follow feature fixed (which I really hope gets fixed soon) this may cause you issues.

Here is a list of Unofficial Servers http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=33477 I recommend starting there. Many community websites dedicated to one specific server are often the most active and the most friendly. If your server has one that is a great place to start.

I saw a thread awhile back that someone created which had a lot of LoTro/Landoval users posting in it and mentioning their server... Just searched for it (yay the search function is back!), here it is http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=22589&highlight=lotro I know some of the people who registered on our unofficial community site for Vrook Lamar have mentioned that they have also RP'd in LoTro - but I do not believe they mentioned their server name. We also have a thread up called "MMO Resume" where people are discussing past MMOs they've played and quite a few have listed LoTro on there (though some mention playing it off and on or for a short time) Maybe check it out and you will see some familiar names? From last night I discovered that as soon as I hit Dark level 1 I had red eyes, I then chose a lightside option which brought me back down to neutral with more darkside and had orange looking eyes.

I hope they add this soon - I am really surprised it isn't in the game. It's probably the easiest part of the entire game to code and would take all of 5 minutes to write a quick code and plug it in. There really isn't any "time investment" to implement the feature. I was looking for it the other day and have seen others asking about it in chat.

There are a few guilds (both Republic and Empire side) that hold bi-weekly or monthly cantina events. Some are open to both sides using the Nar Shaddaa cantina. If you are not on our server it would be more difficult to start a character to check these out, since you don't have a ship yet, but if you are - come join! I'm not on your server, but I've seen threads floating around about a coalition of gamers with the intent on improving their community and respecting other players. It was called RIG, Im sure you could find more info with some Google searches. Perhaps you will find other members of your server familiar with that and start a guild based on that with an RP flair? It's nice to see others working toward improving the RP on their server

Very true I also want to add that you should do this during your normal play times. I've noticed these channels tend to have RP in bursts certain times of the day, so make sure the time you play is active.

I think it may take a little while to find what has the "best" RP to you, it can be subjective. Also at this stage of the game there are still a lot of very good RPers concentrating more on leveling than in RPing - I tried a couple different servers before I found Vrook Lamar, and the community was so nice I ended up creating a community website to help RPers on both sides network with one another. If you are still looking, feel free to come join us and get to know our community, you don't have to be a member of the server to join, but can socialize with other members of the server to get a good idea of the community and perhaps later bring a character over, where you've already made some friends

I know of atleast two military guilds on Republic side of Vrook Lamar, one is Hurricane Regiment and the other is Bleaknauts. You can read more about them on our unofficial server community site under Guild Recruitment, as well as see if any other guilds interest you. Feel free to start a thread in Looking for Guild as well and see what comes up

They save to a folder, but I and some other people on my server were discussing how this may be a little bugged as sometimes they don't show up there. What I do to make sure it takes it is use print-screen and then open a new doc in Paint and just paste using control-v and then save it under a memorable name somewhere else. Turns out I like this method better even though it takes a few extra seconds because I can locate the screenshots I want much easier later on. I take a lot of screenshots so I just run the game in windowed mode and keep paint open on another monitor.

What one did you end up choosing? If you are still looking, I suggest our RP server Vrook Lamar. Feel free to meet the community at our community site and forums to get an opinion of the server.

You should pick a server location closest to your physical location if you have a poor internet connection and are worried about latency. If you are more worried about finding a good server to play on, regardless of a little lag then I would try to research each server before you join it. You don't have to be max level to RP - most people are still playing around on various classes and are not 50 yet anyways. I would suggest being high enough level to get your ship, this way you will be able to travel to any RP locales people may be meeting up at. A common one is a casino in Nar Shaddaa and you will need your ship before getting to that planet. While researching realms to play on, feel free to check out the Vrook Lamar RP server, we have a community website with a lot of helpful RPers
