I don't really see the point of arguing over a in game description. But if we were to agree guards should do less dps then a sent then the lesser dps so called wall should have better overall defense cds. Which most would say we dont and i think thats what annoys dps guards. Now only if our taunts worked for ourselves too.

Fresh 50s have it easier now. Recruit pvp set is very cheap and has more expertise then champion pieces well the few I managed to get anyways. Best thing is to pvp and learn. You'll have advantages pre 1.2 Fresh 50 players didn't have. My companion has more expertise then I do atm lol. More or less what the previous poster said but I'd recommend pvping even now.

only got a chance to do about 7 wz yesterday topped dmg in 4 of them. I'm still adapting to using slash. Much like a previous poster I found myself hitting sweep before it's ready. I just gotta work in my slashes which if I'm lucky will only cost a single point. Can't say I find focused defense all that useful. Maybe higher hp guards do? I'm sitting on a little over 14k hp. Mostly cent gear. Gotta admit our instant 4 stacks of singularity is awesome nothing like setting off a bomb as soon as I land. No wait time for force crush or statis.

Lol, Nice video and good choices for music. I enjoyed the mixture of Vig/focus scenes. Nothing more satisfying then bombing people into oblivion imo.

I don't really understand it myself. I guess because we have 1 move that stands out above the rest so people say that I guess. But I come to realize the vast majority of people who say that don't main our spec and most are vengeance spec juggs. I also noticed some who do play vengeance over rage makes them feel more pro or some nonsense so it makes them feel special. SOME anyways, but everyone has their own opinions on these things.

Funny thing is on my server rage/focus from what I can tell is the least played spec. I can count myself among the few.

I played both and enjoy both. But I'm gonna have to say rage is the better spec of the 2 for me. I'm still in mostly centurion gear. But with vengeance I found the lack of burst disheartening I plan to try the spec again eventually but I can achieve better results with rage. Just be sure to have good awareness and exploit rage spec advantages as much as possible. Sweep bombing as many as humanly possible in a single sweep really helps your team rout the others team.

I played most of my time as focus spec but recently switched to vig I do however find the spec more fun to play I'm currently not finding it to be the more effective of the 2 in pvp. But I think it may be a gear issue since I'm a fairly new 50 so gonna stick with it awhile longer before making a final decision. Anyways op decent video.

I know of the move in the defense tree. I don't spec the tree for my own reasons but that's besides the point. I'm not saying this move is gonna be better overall I'm not into having a war of words over something I never even tested out. No need to cap words either my eyes work just fine. I didn't know all defense spec guards hated force clap so much.

Their is some humor in others telling people they disagree with they don't know how to play or what their talking about then giving a "situational" scenario as to why it's bad. It will help in some situations and perhaps hurt in others. That's a given, But it's overall value is unknown to most of us still.

I don't really care but I must admit I found it odd the tank tree had no real self heal. We all get enure but it doesn't recover any percent of your hp on a permanent bases. As someone who spent most of his mmo career on ff11 playing paladin tank who did have heals. Then played Templar in aion which was the tank as well. Even had some self heals worked like enure but kept some of the hp after wearing off not to mention increasing defense at the same time. I think enure should be buffed to keep some hp.

As I was just reminded of the other day Insight is not a waste of 3 points. He may auto crit on his sweep but maxing insight will help him crit on Blade storm, force exhaustion, force stasis, and force push. I'd recommend leaving the full 3 points in insight. But I'd defiantly drop the 2 points in swift slash and add into Zephyr.

To be honest I was one of those people thanks for clearing that up. I will defiantly be putting all 3 points into insight.

Good point, guess the post was mainly directed at our main damage move which is a auto crit.

I like this build however I read a post on here that insight isn't worth the full 3 points since we will auto crit anyways. Wouldnt the other 2 points be better spent boosting zealous leap damage? I was wondering what your opinion on this would be.? Btw sorry if this was already covered on here and I overlooked it.

Exact opposite of Aion forums which was full of cry baby pve players complaining about getting killed while questing to the point it ruined the open world pvp and killed the only thing it had going for it. But somewhat true on here excluding hate generation threads on guard forums.

I read somewhere on here before that crit wasn't needed for focus spec since the build is around auto crits?

Well what's fun is certainly a matter of opinion. Cause I assume by relaxing you mean plain easy. And I certainly don't find a 1 button class like trooper all that thrilling but that's just me.

Great useful post I didn't know most of these things. Makes me even more skeptical about bothering with shield in pvp.

I understand the differences but my only point is despite what any guard specs. We are all still using saber throw, force leap, sundering strike, blade storm, freezing force, and master strike exc. Still the same class.

Yeah seriously I don't really get those kinda comments but to each their own. They make it sound like all we do is stand there twiddling our thumbs waiting for the next setup sweep. I don't feel its very different from our other specs each offers its own unique skills but our base skills are all still the same.

Off topic and I apologize for that but a question for any 50s who may possibly be running a focus spec in soresu which I am ( Lev 36 ) but is it worth running a shield in our off hand in pvp?
