  1. I agree completely. Just like everyone needs a purpose in life, my characters need a purpose in-game. My guild also needs a purpose, guilds are more like chat rooms without a purpose. The reason why I unsubbed was not out of bitterness. I had a great time. I just unsubbed because I went weeks without playing, and realized that I had lost interest. No point paying for a service you don't use.
  2. If said expansion includes this, I may come back AND stay.
  3. Just because a game is old doesn't detract from the good in it. No one plays Everquest anymore, but that doesn't mean that it sucks, simply that it's outdated. All you are doing is disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. Answer this... What can a guild achieve in SWTOR that a "group" cannot achieve? Never have I played an MMO with so many guildless high lvl characters walking around. What aspects of the game does socializing effect?
  4. I feel you on the load screens. They drive me crazy, and absolutely kill immersion... Those useless orbital space-stations... I don't get why all space-ports need to be instanced separately from the game-world.
  5. For instance, back in the day in Asheron's Call 2, there were warring factions who fought to control differen't in-game zones. It was epic. There was a sense of good versus evil in the universe. Going inside of an instance and then completing a mission, then stepping out to a world that is unaffected by player actions gives a sense that what you did, did not matter. When people have a reason to "unite" for a challenging cause, when guilds have a "larger calling" than a social group, then the world comes alive. It becomes a social world, not just a world in which you can talk to people while playing. That is once way of adding a sense of purpose to socializing. Basically everything you do as a "team" in swtor revolves around going inside of an instance that doesn't effect anything except for your group's XP.
  6. True. Another not is the fact that it seemed extremely easy to get to lvl 50. I feel like it was harder to get to lvl30 is some other MMOs than it is to get to lvl50 in SWTOR. Once you get to the "top", you kind of realize that you've reached the edge of the universe. Maybe the fact that we are about four months in and the Legacy system is still just an afterthought.
  7. I was an officer in a 150+ player guild. I am not referring to "talking to people", I am speaking about gameplay that effects the world it's self. Real people don't go from battle to battle to battle to battle, there is a "rest period". Or the fact that nothing you do actually effects the balance of light/dark in the universe.
  8. I understand that aspect. But the fact that there are no player ruled territories in the game world, that makes socializing more like being in a chat room as opposed to being in a game-world. The world is static... there isn't even a night and day, nor are there locations to encourage socializing. Pazzak or speeder racing could have been an interesting side game. The fact remains that you are either "fighting" the opposing faction or you are doing nothing.
  9. SWTOR was the most fun I've probably has in most any MMO. But the fact of the matter is that it is repetitive, and the game's weakness is the "social" aspect. Flash points are great, warzones are "alright"... But the problem is that the world is not "alive". There are not player controlled factions. You cannot buy a "house", you cannot play any social games, crafting and the galactic market are "ok", not great... but there is no way to have a "storefront". While the story line is amazing, as an MMO this game doesn't revolve in any way around socializing other than trying to get groups for flashpoints. Also, the rail space-fighting system got old... in y 400+ hours of play I did maybe ten space missions.
  10. When I unsubscribed they gave me a survey asking why. I told them, due to lack of ability to transfer my high level character to a server that has a high population. My server was dead and I didn't feel like repeating the Jedi Knight story, and put another 300+ hours of work in leveling. My first play through, I loved it... but on the second play through, there was no real variation.
  11. If you just delete it from the control panel it will delete all 20GB of data. It only says 13mb on the control panel but the reality is that it will prompt you asking if you want to delete all associated files and folders and if you select "Yes" then everything will be deleted. No need to try to do it manually...as you will probably miss a few files.
  12. 200 million budget... This game is great, but maybe they could've spent that money more wisely. SWTOR didn't have to be an MMO to catch my interest.
  13. No one is crying doom on the game as a whole. What this thread is about is that some servers have population issues and it's ruining the game for some of us. This is a fact.
  14. Something that drives me crazy.... Who decides what amount of people is "Standard", "Heavy" or "Light"? Is it a general measurement of population or is it a relative measurement since "Standard" indicates that it is only a relative measurement. Even when the server I was on would say "Standard" it was relatively empty. If there are 1million+ subscribers then where are they? Because I doubt my original server has ever exceeded 1000 players on at any given moment.
  15. I had server pop issues.. I was often alone on planets. I rerolled on a high pop server but got bored re-doing everything I spent 300 hours doing on my original character. I lost interest 3 weeks ago but didnt turn off auto-sub until today... I have about 3 weeks left on my subscription. A character/Legacy transfer feature would have prevented me from losing interest in the game.
