  1. Shadow, Mr. Robot loves you too As for the link on dulfy's site (she is amazing, btw), it doesn't say if the mod's schematics drop, or just the mods. I'm pretty sure I asked her this before and she gave me a screenshot with proof. I'll have to catch her and ask (again), since I didn't save it. Plus, it's possible it's changed since 1.2... maybe only the mods dropped pre-1.2 but now the schematics can too?
  2. I need a little help - I'm doing some more updates to our database (Ask Mr. Robot). One of our users PM'd me with a few things that we need confirmation on. As many of you know, we are very, very dedicated to having an accurate database. UPDATE FOR PATCH 1.2.2 on May 1: Hey guys... with yesterday's 1.2.2 patch, we might need to take a look at some of the screenshots everyone was so kind to post Can everyone who has access to the level 23-26 mods, enhancements, armorings, and hilts take another look, see if the tooltip says you can research it now? These screenshots may be out of date now, with the 1.2.2 update... If anyone can answer the following, I'd appreciate it. Screenshots are ideal, since Mr. Robot is all about 100% proof. 1. Can any of the level 23, 24, or 25 mods be crafted? Level 24 Confirmed, from dropped pattern. Some Level 23Bs Cannot Be RE'd. Level 25 Cannot be RE'd. Level 25 Armorings (no set bonus) cannot be RE'd. 2. Can any 'type B' mod level 23 or higher be crafted? see example. Level 24B confirmed. 3. Can the level 26 / 27 mods can be RE'd when ripped from end-game gear? If so, what happens to the set bonus? If the mod drops from a boss (with no set bonus attached), can that be RE'd? Level 26 from BH Gear Confirmed to be RE'd. Level 26 from War Hero Gear Cannot. 4. Can *ANY* orange item ever learn variants. It would seem not considering how orange gear works, but you DO have a chance to RE this item. I assume that' chance is just to learn the orange shell. If anyone can confirm one way or the other, I can update our data. Confirmed, the crafted item cannot even be RE'd.
  3. Ginnai, if you want to see the talents you can grab profiles from the API we have over at Ask Mr. Robot. Of course it would only work for someone who has a profile, but we already have 100,000 people using the site, so it's a start. We built the API for uses just like this! You can check out the implementation over at simulationcraft if you want an example. If something is missing from the API that you would need to do something cool with your raid meter, let us know (we're totally fans of your application!) We'll probably spend some time testing out this theory, that I think Rague's healer sorc partner in crime posted on our forums. And just like you said, to do it right we'd have to know everyone's talents, so we'll be working integrating with character's talents as well.
  4. Hey Hells, we're always open to sharing the info that Mr. Robot has figured out. No secrets here, that's just now how we roll. The boss death seems to only be logged for one player, my best guess is the person who got the killing blow, but that's just a guess. I added boss deaths to be logged to feature requests, so cross your fingers! I also wanted to share an idea that Rumrunner had on our forums for overhealing (view thread). Basically, the idea is that overhealing does no threat, so you could estimate overhealing by looking at the threat. Here's a portion of his explanation: Hells, I'm adding your parser to the main list today, stay tuned.
  5. Seldaris, I'm one of the people behind Ask Mr. Robot. I'm interested in checking out the difference between the 2 parsers, because we're fans of the MOX live tool The difference could be in how DPS is calculated, but if you have a link to the log after it's uploaded to MOX, and a link to the AMR log, I'll take a look. For example, some live damage meters (in the WoW days), would only count your DPS while alive, the minute you died, the DPS meter stopped. Other meters would keep logging while the fight went out, so your DPS would be lower (since you can't DPS while dead). I am not sure how MOX handles it, but it's likely we are doing different calculations. Posting the two links will let both Ginnai and I look into it (I also don't want to hijack Ginnai's thread, so feel free to post Mr. Robot specific questions in this thread)
  6. Along these lines, I have a little RE calculator to share. People often times think that if you have a 20% chance to learn a pattern, you probably only need 5 tries to get it. But life doesn't work that way, as the OP alluded to. The calculator tells you the chance to learn the pattern, if you enter in the number of attempts you're able to do. For example, with a 20% chance RE rate, and 5 tries, you only have a 67% chance to get the pattern in those 5 tries. Ah, stats, how they often aren't intuitive. Anyway, here's the calculator: http://blog.askmrrobot.com/2012/04/swtor-re-luck-caculator/
  7. Yeah, they are slot specific. The general rule is if the set bonus is attached to the armoring, it will be slot-specific. Here's a list of the armorings for Black Hole gear, and what items they are ripped from.
  8. @Feokist, you can't import your character from the server If there was a way, we'd totally let you do it! The SECOND that's opened up as an option by BW, we'll open it up to everyone else. However, they have their hands full cleaning up this plague that's spreading around I'm not sure if / when they'll have an option like this for sites like us to use. @Heltids That's a very good question. When that happens, we look for the safe immunity buff that you get when zoning back in. Don't tell anyone, it's our little secret @ Everyone, I'm posting a few updates tomorrow (Wednesday) once I collect a couple of updated screenshots. Wildking has a nice update with some expanded features for those who log in. If anyone else has updates, or links to guides, I'll add all of that stuff in. As for Mr. Robot, we're currently working on some improved smart-merging logic. We almost caved in to some challenges that would require all users to enter a raid key to merge logs... but after 2 days of brainstorming, we think we have it figured out. The improved solution will continue to allow non-logged-in users to merge logs, without ever entering a raid id. It will be just as automatic as it is today, but the merges will be less... 'finicky.' Stay tuned for the updated release.
  9. Hey, I have all that info for you! Map for the vendor (it's the same for Republic and Empire) The crystals you can purchase are listed here (you'll see a DNA source in the right column). The +16 crystals are 75 DNA samples, and the +41 crystals are 83 DNA samples. Advanced Black-Green Centurion's Crystal Advanced Black-Green Resistance Crystal Advanced Black-Green Savage Crystal Advanced Black-Green Vehemence Crystal Advanced Black-Green War Hero's Crystal (+41) Advanced Black-Green Eviscerating Crystal (+41) Advanced Black-Green Hawkeye Crystal (+41) Advanced Black-Green Indestructible Crystal (+41) You can also get a pale rakling for 60 DNA samples You can also get various containment officer social set items as daily quest rewards. New quests & rewards are being added daily, today the legs showed up for a new quest. Lastly, I have a quick to-the-point guide on how to get DNA samples and what to buy with them here. Dulfy has a great guide that she updates daily with more in-depth information.
  10. Awesome info! To the OP, I sent you a PM with a possible tip
  11. Thorizdin, Thanks for the examples, those are helpful. We'll take a look at threat-over-time, I can see how that would be useful, especially at the beginning of a fight to see how close the DPSers are to pulling aggro. As for damage absorbed, that gets a little trickier, but we'll take a look
  12. Doh! No wonder no one had the answer, I was like 'how has no one pointed out the rakghoul vendor yet.' Bummer, sorry about that. I haven't found the straight up green one either... Anyway, I'm subbed and will add it once someone finds it
  13. Edit: Reading comprehension fail, you're looking for the GREEN crystal, not green black. Side note: green-black is on Rakghoul vendor in Tatooine for 83 Rakghoul DNA samples. We just updated the Mr. Robot database with the Rakghoul event sources, see the pattern here. Here's a map for the vendor.
  14. Feokist - I'm glad you brought that up, I was hoping a thread like this would bubble this kind of information up so that every combat-parser author could learn from them. I have a few other skills that I know about, I can add a list of tips to the OP. Telekenitic Throw is coming up as Crushed. Crushed (force) is both the Mind Crush and Force Technique's Force Breach (edited to reflect correction stated by Feokist) Whirlwind shows up as Force Lift Force Lightning shows up at Shocked. Note that Shock is it's own ability and can be left alone. A few abilities like Burning (Tech) are dots that happen from various abilities. As of right now, we haven't identified a good way to associate them to the right spell. Looking forward for more of these, so everyone can get a full list
  15. Hmm, that's odd, the privacy policy and terms of use load ok from my machine, chrome FF and IE. I'll look into it. In the meantime, if you want a copy of them I can email you (just PM me your email).
  16. Hey, great info here guys. For the question regarding a player doing less damage than they should with their gear... One of the features we want to add in to Mr. Robot's parser, is linking a players gear, skill tree, and stats to the logs. Since players can build a profile in the character builder, why not link them, AMIRITE? (see Zoopercat as an example) In fact, a little known secret: we have an API for character information, so anyone can do it really Regarding my OP: I want to add a link for any FAQs and guides people have for each parser. So if you spot any, post then and I'll add it in.
  17. Caladex, you say Mr. Robot found 3 other guildie's logs in your first sentence. Are you saying it did it right, or wrong? (Sorry, I haven't had enough coffee today and my reading comprehension might be suffering) Regarding uploading while the game is open, yeah that doesn't work because the file is 'in use.' Kind of annoying, but I don't think there is a way around that. As a side note, the reason that silverlight is nice is we can process the log on your computer then upload the parsed log to our servers. That saves on a LOT of processing, which keeps our costs low. That's nice because we can keep an entire history of logs, and not wipe them every month or so. When you 'looked' for a log, where you using the character search box on our site? That box is only looking up characters for the character builder, not for logs (yet!). Do a search for 'zoopercat' - you'll see what shows up. If you are logged in when you upload a log, you'll see a list of all the logs. If you aren't logged in, you have to bookmark it. There's one more workaround if you're desparate (i've been there), you can type swtor.askmrrobot.com/combatlog/ into the browser bar, and hope the history is there (see picture). Regarding logging in: I just tried registering and it works. Does this happen repeatedly for you? If so, what browser and version are you using? I'll check it out. Wugan - he's totally right, things get complicated with trying to match up logs often due to time differences on people's computers. We all need 007 synchronized watches... OR raid-wide logging from BW Thorizdin: Can you give a specific scenario you want to see? That will help us spec the feature out right!
  18. We're spending the entire day brainstorming more options for merging. If anyone has feature requests, or any problems they've seen, let us know. We'll add it to the list. For example, we might try to offer more control over the files that get merged if someone is logged in, because then we can set permissions on the files. Otherwise, if someone is not logged in, how do you know if they should be able to delete a file? But we want to balance this with enough quality features for users who don't make accounts... it just gets tricky with merging 'permissions.'
  19. Hey all, I grouped up all of the combat parsers here. But I wanted to start one for the parser we made, specifically for feedback and testing purposes. Ask Mr. Robot's Raid-Wide Combat Log Parsing Features: No login required (but if you want to login, Mr. Robot keeps a list of all reports you've made so you can find them again) Merge raid-logs automatically. Each person can upload their own and the merge still works. Or a raid leader can upload them all at once. Search for logs by server & guild, look up anyone who has the logs uploaded Damage and healing reports & share any report view with friends! Reports with 'other effects' used, like potions, buffs and debuffs Rankings are coming soon, so get your logs up now to be added to the top DPS / HPS lists Sample reports (from a Red Reaper run) Damage overview Damage by ability Damage by ability for a particular fight View data by boss fight Healing received by player Healing by ability, even for companions Damage Taken by target by ability Buff / Debuff / Other effects report The technical details behind 'smart-merging': We're beta-testing 'smart merging' of logs. You don't need a raid ID or anything else, you just have to upload your log. Each person can upload their own, or if someone has all of them they can just upload them all at once. Either way works. Here's mini-guide on the log uploading process. If the logs are uploaded individually, Mr. Robot will search for related logs based on a few parameters, like your server, time zone, and the FP/OP you raided. We applied a few robo-smarts to this, but this likely will need improvement. We might have the 'idiot proofing' parameters tuned too tight or too loose. I have a post all about merging technicalities here, for those who like to geek out. If you run into ANY merging problems, let me know. We are investigating each one, and using that information to fine-tune our merging logic. Update on 4/30: Added new features, including a guild-search, log management (edit and delete), improved merging logic, and updated fight logic for some specific fights like zorn & toth. Some of these features will only apply to new logs, not retroactively to old logs.
  20. I have a list at the bottom of this blog post: http://blog.askmrrobot.com/2012/04/rakghoul-dna-samples-how-to-get-them-what-to-buy/ You can get an infected companion box with a random infected companion customization in it. This costs 20 Rakghoul DNA Samples. You can also get advanced green-black crystals. +16 cost 75 Rakghould DNA Samples, and the +41 ones cost 83 samples. Also, there is a pale Rakling for 60 samples. The vendor is on tatooine, here's a map.
  21. Subscribing, I'd also like to know the answer to this. It does seem like it would be future quests. As we find out, I'll add the source data for the containment officer set to our database
  22. Dulfy is usually on top of those types of guides, fantastic resource! Here's a link to the new dailies: http://dulfy.net/2012/04/13/dailies-and-pve-gearing-in-1-2/ You can also check out AskMrRobot for data information. We're dedicated to having accurate item data (we remove items that don't exist, show what items mods can be ripped from, etc). We're also continuously adding to the sources as we find them. If no source is listed, it's because we don't have confirmation yet.
  23. LKaras, glad you like the tool. I'm one of the people behind Ask Mr. Robot. We're working on a couple bug fixes right now and will do an update tonight. If you can give me a link to the logs on AMR, I'll take a look. Also, if you can provide me with any of the raw logs, that will help in troubleshooting. Mr. Robot wants me to tell you, "Thanks for saying it looks pretty!"
  24. Hey, I just replied in another thread on this but suddenly can't find it... (must get more coffee!) Anyway, I made a mini-guide with screenshots about the construction kit. Below is a summary: This kit is a reward for completing chapter 1 of your class quest. You can redeem it on the legacy vendor in your capital city, but be sure to mail the KIT to the character you want to get it first. First, open your in-game mail, if you've completed chapter 1 you will have mail waiting for you. (screenshot) Next, if you want an alt to redeem the item, be sure to mail the KIT to your (not the final item). Read Bioware’s clarification on this. To see what items you can buy, visit the legacy vendors in your capital city. Here’s the map for Dromund Kaas. And here's a screenshot of a weapon on the vendor. Next, if you want more legacy gear, you have some options: The starship upgrade vendor sells the gloves, bracers, and belt construction kits. The Daily Commendation vendors on several planets sell the construction kits for the birthright head, , birthright legs , inheritance chest, and inheritance feet. Note: the database incorrectly labels the inheritance head and leg construction kits as being purchasable from the daily vendor. We will do an update and correct that tonight. If anyone finds source information for the rest of the kits, let us know!
  25. I put up a little guide here if you're interested: http://blog.askmrrobot.com/2012/04/so-you-got-a-legacy-mainhand-construction-kit-in-the-mail/ Summary: This kit is a reward for completing chapter 1 of your class quest.
