My character has 1334 expertise for a total of 36.62% damage boost and 26.8% damage reduce. In top pvp gear I gain a 20% damage increase, and a 10% extra damage reduction. While 20% would be nice, it's a joke considering the fact that HP bars in my current gear don't move. So maybe if I grind out top level PvP gear (NOT "starter gear") I can move the HP bar down a little? What an amazing reward I have to look forward to. 10% damage reduction? When I go from full to dead in roughly 5 seconds when fighting some classes, 10% reduction in that isn't really a very alluring bonus. It's really funny to me that this thread turned into a big self affirming circle jerk about how nothing is wrong with the game. Every other post on this forum is complaints about the lack of any semblance of balance in the game, yet the response to a player quitting is "you shoulda learned to play, noob, you're the problem with the game". You're all so focused on lying to yourselves that everything is OK; players complain about dead queues and it's "oh well, of course that's because the cross realm blah blah blah" when the truth is no one wants to PvP outside of a small group because it sucks. No new players come in because it sucks, AND they have to continually die, act as a burden to their team, spend most of their WZ time in the respawn area, just to get gear to make it suck ~10-20% less.

Just returned from the original release, figured I'd give it a second shot. I've always been a PvP player in MMOs. Leveled up to 65, checked my stats vs other players, not too bad with the bolster. About 20% damage and 10% damage reduction difference between me and "top gear" players. I queued for 6 warzones over the past two days and have just cancelled my sub and will be uninstalling this game. I don't expect to be all powerful without PvP gear. I really don't. That said, do you devs honestly expect me to keep playing to get the gear when I'm getting 4 shot by other classes while sitting in CC. I watch 3-4 DPS beat on Sages/Sorcs who don't even need to heal themselves. I come to your forums and just see 90% of posts complaining, and many people stating "why post? BW doesn't change anything". Why would I even bother putting up with all these faceroll FOTM bandwagoners playing the current overpowered spec when getting the gear won't even change anything? Why would I stick with a game that, apparently, requires you to wait for your classes turn to be the FOTM? Is balancing obvious flaws really that hard? Maybe in a year or two you'll get another $15 from me. I'm only one person, but from what I read on here the PvP system has dead queues. Well now there's one less queueing.
  3. Why bring dampen when they could just nerf an overpowered ability? Dampening is really stupid, and the reason WoW implemented it was because they decided that resources should be infinite. They shouldn't. You should run out of resource if having to spam heal. Same for damage. Healers should have to know what they're doing so they can heal as efficiently as possible. Damage shouldn't be able to just stand and get spam healed, their healer should run out of resource.

    Yikes, Warzones...

I just PvP'd for the first time since launch of this game. I'm happy with the work that BW has done on the engine. Other than that, I can't see why I'd ever queue for PvP again unless I swap to a gunslinger/sniper, scoundrel/op, or sage/sorc from my guardian. What's the deal with snipers/gunslingers? I apparently can't close on them with force leap, and for some reason, even when they aren't white bar I can't force push/stasis/awe them. I'd be fine with the whole "cant leap" thing if they didn't also get the ability to stun me, slow me, root me, all while also melting me before I can even get half way to them. Oh and then you get there and they just roll away. It seems that everyone on empire is playing Sorc with a few snipers and one or two assassins. PvP is really fun when no ones health bar moves except for the team who randomly got less healers. Last item I'd like to gripe about: DPS off heals. Why? Why can any DPS class heal at all? I just do not understand the logic there. If they sacrifice damage for the healing, then maybe, but I just do not understand.

    PvP gear?

Hi all, returning from a long break. Is there PvP gear you purchase with warzone comms of some sort these days? What's the best way to PvP gear? Thanks!
  6. Hey guys, My slots are all 156 rating, I'm sitting at 2483 aim, +750 healing, 4% alacrity, 30.66% crit chance with a 69.4% multiplier while buffed. Is this good enough to heal hardmodes with? I've been through some pretty awful groups and I seem to take the blame though I'm seeing mechanics being screwed up (whole group taking lots of damage) but I'd like to see if I am undergeared for HMs. I tried commando forums and no one replied Thanks

  8. well I'd agree with you but these guys are sitting around 25k hp too, so I can't imagine they're that far ahead. After their opener I'm at like ~75-80% hp and then it just bursts down to like 20% in ~3 seconds though they're at range. Trying to figure out what is doing that
  9. I'm trying to figure out how I am dying so fast to assassins. Granted I just hit 55 and only have 25k hp, I know what I am doing and easily cc/kite them after the opener. Problem is that even at long range I get rocked in like 5 seconds. They aren't even near me and I take absurb amounts of damage, so much so that I end up looking around to see if there is a second player nuking me. Pretty much every one of them has the HK companion, is that thing capable of retarded levels of burst damage? My "combat log" doesn't seem to record any information ever.

    cool premades bro!

Premades should face other premades majority of the time. Pugs should face pugs majority of the time. Personal skill with their class isn't a factor, the premades simply have a strategy, a leader, and they follow directions. Inferior skill levels can be easily covered up by team work. I play with a competitive soccer club, and we have players that frankly suck in 1v1 situations. When in their role in the team, they are great. Teamwork. Pugs do not listen, mostly have zero discipline, and generally every player does whatever they want. Simply taking the time to gather a group together for PvP shouldn't entitle the group to facerolling pugs.
  11. They have been sleeping through the entire development of the game. Some of the changes are hilarious. There is such a good base blueprint from WoW (no one would really care if this game was WoW dressed up as star wars, lets be honest). EA has been sleeping with MMO development since Warhammer; some of the mistakes they made there were made here. These guys should hire some players as consultants before they do stuff.
  12. Yeah? Like load screens and hilariously buggy pve content? Rift is free for the first 20 levels right now, only reason I log in day to day is the time left on my game card
  13. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#800bfRzRzfdkqZrcoM.1 That's what I use and I do pretty well, but you gotta understand that combat medics have ZERO mobility. Hug walls, always be one or two steps from an object you can hide behind. If melee get on you, concussion charge on cooldown and remember you can't be interrupted with reactive shield up in the spec I linked. Always make sure trauma probe is on you, kolto bomb as well, and dispell DoT's you can as quick as possible. Oh, and swap your alacrity enhancements for surge/crit or surge/power enhancements
  14. I made a post about this awhile back, totally agree. Should make kolto bomb dispell and just remove field aid. Sage's cleanse heals for a decent amount too. Whenever I get a DoT spec class on me it is impossible to keep up with the damage because my cleanse doesnt replace any health, but on my 42 sage I can live forever because of the mobility combined with the shield. My brother plays a scoundrel and does very well in PvP by spamming his cleanse as well as his other instants.

    grav round

http://i41.tinypic.com/2lw50yh.jpg Instant's critting for 6.5k+ make me more angry, granted I only have 526 expertise, I don't think I should be seeing these kinds of instant drops in my health pool from a single attack
