  1. Not sure why Operatives get so much hate in the DPS department. I think most of it is just parrot syndrome....people on the forums just repeating what they read in another thread over and over and over again.

We really seem to shine in fights where burst DPS is key. We may not be the best sustained over-time DPS but on things like Soa/Puzzle Boss in Karragaa(sp) I think we shine as the best class to have around.

When we stim up/surge up/burn our energy all at once we can really put out some serious damage (if not the best damage) and in fights where you are given certain windows to DPS we are a huge asset.

Ive cleared every single encounter in game and at no point did I feel like a burden to my raid and ive had randoms specifically send me tells asking for me to come DPS hardmodes for them.

....also I'm not squishy at all. I top at out at just over 20k HP's fully buffed...I rarely die to anything in PvE unless we are wiping and being able to heal myself in a clutch is a huge boon to the healers in our group.

As with most melee DPS classes we are extremely gear-dependent so I think thats where alot of the QQ is coming from....when I relic/stim I can get my surge rating to 99.5 and crit rating to 46%ish not including the talented crit bonuses and set-bonuses. I can really go berserk-beast mode when necessary for like 15-20 seconds.

  2. Too much QQ around here.

    In this thread we:

    - Do fine in PvP. With Jarring strike no longer filling the resolve bar this nerf is no where near as bad as people make it sound. I can stun people for 5.5 seconds now instead of 3. I can still drop anyone 1v1 if I play smart. Seriously if this made you go from god of 1v1 to unable to beat anyone you just flat out suck and SHOULD roll another class.

    - Do fine getting groups. I still get people asking me to come DPS hard modes. I still do good damage in hardmodes.

    - Do fine in raids and don't get excluded. I still clear hardmode EV/Karagaa no problem. I'm still DPS that is wanted on the raid. I still bring utility to the raid.

This thread is for Operatives who like their class, play it well, and don't enjoy all the Theorepublic going on from people who just suck and cry on the forums instead of actually playing the game.

  3. It feels like double because the resolve bar no longer fills up so instead of being stunned for 3 seconds I can stun someone for 5.5 if I use debilitate.

(I know thats not what you're saying im just pointing it out)

  4. Triple buffed hidden strike can easily crit for over 7k.. if the op is in full pvp gear and the target isn't.

My personal record was 7208 with +30% Expertise on top of 500 Expertise and Crit Trinket.

    Its possible....takes ALOT....but its possible.

Either way...get geared before you QQ.

  6. What came first...the skill or the gear?

People PvP for a reward....this reward is gear...this gear makes you better at PvP through being stronger than your opponent...this allows you to get more rewards...which makes you better at PvP through gear....

    This will never change.

Competition for competitions sake with no reward would never succeed in a MMO.

  7. and what is this map exactly?

Its a zone-wide area meant for 40ish players on each side that involves massive pushes and armies struggling over resources/objectives to eventually march across the field and take the opponents base.

This is where Ilum is headed I believe but it will be implemented later.

  8. Back in my day...

    - We didnt have raid groups. We rangled 100+ people and made groups of 6 to try and kill one world boss. None of this 8-man easy mode content. You had to actually have a sizeable group to get things done.

    - Raid buffs took 30 minutes and you liked it. There was no massive raid group. Everyone just made their small groups and took orders.

    - We didnt have these instances...if you wanted to kill something you had to camp its spawn and RACE against everyone else to get it. If you didnt get it you had to wait another 7 days just to get a chance to take it down.

    - If you had a weapon that had a "The" in it, it was legitmately epic. There was MAYBE two or three on the server and it was drooled over.

    - Purple loot was actually epic. None of these quest turn ins, full epic gear by soloing content bull*****. Being decked head to toe in purple actually meant something.

    - Orange loot was MAYBE one or two per server.

    - You couldn't solo your way 1-50. You HAD to group because mobs were too mean to kill by yourself. It built a genuine connection across the server and people really got to know eachother.

    - Getting access to an endgame zone took WORK. Months and months of work to even get INSIDE.

THATS THE WAY IT WAS AND WE LOVED IT

(Feel free to add your own)

  9. I believe you have to kill someone in your own endzone in Huttball.

I've tried just standing there and gotten nothing then when I kill someone as soon as they die I get the 1k defender bonus.

  10. This is just another aspect of the (God make it) pvp of this game that was just poorly developed.

My opinion is that yes there should be brackets and not only for the 50's.

Problem now is that those who rushed to 50 (and they had every right to do so, no complains here) had all the time to farm for champ and battlemaster gear , so even when they implement the 50's bracket those that just reach lvl 50 will have a major disadvantage.

The only solution i can think of right now would be to allow all players to acquire champ bags from early levels, usable after they get to 50 of course.

After all so far this game (pvp wise) is all about farming commendations and gear , if i am not mistaken and i do not think i am.

People will be able to get full champion gear basically overnight once the 50 brackets get patched in.

The random will be taken out and with one round of dailies/weeklies you should be able to get decked out.

Hopefully they wait a couple weeks on putting out the 50v50, I dont think there are enough 50's on my server PvPing to make the que pop quickly/regularly.

  11. Im actually SHOCKED that there is no medal for carrying the ball, scoring, etc.

Defending nodes and only getting 2 medals for 5+ minutes TOPS is also ridiculous.

Planting a bomb/removing a bomb should yield medals etc.

It really is a simple fix...just remove some of the higher tier medals and add objective ones.

  12. Anyone else like this?

Yea I want to get my daily/weeklies done so I'd like to win 3 a day but as an Operative I find it more worthwhile to just focus on doing damage and farming medals.

I usually still get 1k valor and 80-100 tokens.

No real motivation to focus on WINNING at all.

  13. Sith apprentices are like the spoiled rich children of CEO's.

Non-force users are like the executives.

Yea while you are interning at the company you have to technically do what you're told but everyone knows who your dad is so you are given free reign.
