  1. Similar maybe but commando does not have the ammount of cc and escape tools that a sage has. And please elaborate on your burst rotation.
  2. It is not who is going to last longer. It is who is going to be a liability for the team. Guardian does not need the babysitting that commando needs.
  3. If i remember correctly some time ago you requested some metrics to justify the changes of the recent class for commando class. Did they reply to your request? Thanks in advance
  4. Assault is a good tree when the procs are up. If they are not you are just pew pew to get a tech effect on your target ( which can be cleansed and it will be cleansed in competitive PvP). As for the suggestions that you can stay mobile on assault all the time is at least ******** because you have to use both the abilities to get more procs on HiB. People that are not doing that are hindering their DPS output. Whether you like it or not Mando is a baby to carry in competitve PvP because it needs a lot of babysitting. And @ all those saying to roll Assault to other commandos please tell them all the disadvantages of the Assault specc. Being in assault since December and i know this tree too well. But saying that is bursty without being immobile it is ignorant and DPS less effective, Commandos may one day the balance of the classes come forth.
  5. Assault can not overcome the burst Gunnery provides. It is higly ammo consuming tree. It is overrated as highly mobile for mandos because FA is channeled and CB is casting ability ( you have to cast those two is you want to activate HiB when it is in cooldown). The dots can be cleansed. The plasma proc is 16% ( while vangs is 100%). There is greater synergy with vanguards other trees ( increase of elemental damage etc). And it got a decrease in dps due to the 10% dps reduction of CB. Assault at least for commando needs to be reworked. And since there is no option ( at least for the near future) to be able to change from to mando to vaguard and vice versa there is no need for this two classes to share assault tree.

    A game that was supposed to be PvE biased game tries to bring ranked PvP with classes that were build mainly around PvE.....! May the Balance be with you......
  7. The whole class needs to be redesigned. If you want to have balance on this class they have to increase the number of anti-cc abilities and of course to redesign the resolve bar because it seems to be broken. ( I was knocked back pulled and mesmerized when the resovle bar was already full plenty of times after the new patch).
  8. Whether we like it or not commando it has been hampered by developers. They decided to reduce the ammount of damage our class can do ( according to their metrics) but they have given us no extra skills to allow us to survive. Not only that but assault remains one of the most ammo consuming tree for all classes and its dots can be cleansed. Even if some of us claim that assault is more mobile than gunnery they have to consider the following: To activate HiB you need to cast either FA ( 3 sec channeling) or ChargBolt ( 1.5 sec cast) and if you are lucky the cooldown on HiB will be rested. In a competitive PvP you will be taking a lot of aggro if you stay still for 5 secs . Now for the ammo: Plasma nade : 4 ammo HiB: 1 ammo or no ammo cost depending on the cooldown. Charged bolts: 2 ammo if you have specced on from gunnery tree. FA: 2 ammo. Explosive round: 3 ammo ( but noone is using it unless to prevent a cap so no help from this skill to increase your burst ). Assault Plastique: 2 ammo ( shares the same cooldown with sticky grenade and it is kinetic damage which can be mitigated ). Sticky nade: 2 ammo ( but if you are specced in Assault plastique propably you will not be using it ) I do know that some of our tools will help us regenerate some ammo and make our abilities ammo free and instant but they are on a long cooldown. So if you need to burst someone you will need a rotation of atleast three or four skills which will drop your ammo below the optimal regeneration ammo number so you will need to spam the pew pew with a 16% chance to proc plasma on the target ( which of course can be cleansed). So what were the developers thinking when they created this tree for this class? I suppose nothing . Anyway i hope that devs will open a thread and listen our suggestion to improve the performance of mando even if that means we will not share a tree with vanguards. And honestly since we can not be vanguards and commandos at will there is no point to have a shared tree.

So they tried to compensate the loss of dps by adding some extra damage on the 15 sec cooldown ability which it may not reach its full potential if you forced to apply it on a target that it will not be debuffed( commonly happens in a warzone). My point is that bioware has not offered any other rotation apart from grav round. Combinig the fact that they increased the cooldown on our knockback and decreased the amount of damage we can mitigate it makes our class a spamming class that can be easily interrupted and locked down. From PvP perspective that means one dps less with no escaping tools which will increase the pressure on the commando's team. They really need to give us some extra passives to our assault tree so that ( as dpsers) we can have two viable dps trees.
  10. The thing is that Bioware made these changes without considering the impacts on Assault tree as well, which makes me think that they actually do not play the class at all.
  11. Well last night i cancelled my sub after the fail 1.2c patch. Their intentions was to change the rotation of gunnery spec. They did this by reducing the damage of grav round (aceptable) and charged bolts ( i fail to understand this ). Furthermore they reduced the amount of damage mitigation of our charged barrier and increased the cooldown of our knock back ( in order of course to change the rotation of gunnery specc ). And from expertise i have noticed that it favors damage more than defence and healing. Guess what .... Still people are grav rounding . The old rotation still works (but with less dps of course). The thing is that Bioware needed to make two equal dps trees if they wanted to avoid this grav round spamming. Instead of doing this they reduced the damage of Assault ( nerfing charged bolts). Although there are a lot of commandos that dont want to use Gunnery specc Bioware is not offering them a viable alternative dps tree. Not to mention of course the wide sellection of escaping tools that commandos do have ( ) (/ sarcasm) that can avoid being stun locked for 8-10 seconds. I havent mentioned healing because RuQu is doing an excellent job in his posts regarding healing. Unfortunately this class needs to be reworked from scratch. And they have to listen to the community and not taking some kind measurements ( which i would like to be published ) that are failing from day 1 after the patch. But having the same team from Warhammer gives me no hope. The broken classes will remain broken for a year or so until thay loose most of their subs. Developers fail to understand that MMO community nowdays is evolved since the days of WoW. They expect more both on PvP and on PvE. I will be playing for a bit hoping that Bioware will some day make commando a COMMANDO .
  12. Well it would be nice to have the following thingies to buff the Commando Assault tree. Charged Bolts to became insta cast if you could specc for it on a high tier in Assault tree. Buff with a passive ability elemental damage by 8% or 10% ( put whatever you think it seems to be logical and not game balance breaking). Assault trooper passive ability should also affects Plasma grenade as well. Please make some more suggestions.
  13. Hmmmm I wasnt aiming to reply to your post but to point out the reduction of charged bolts dps hinders more the dps of Assault tree for commando. Wasnt it clear ? If by any means anything i wrote offended you i do apologise
  14. 10% reduction on dps for a skill that is required to finish the cd on HiB (i.e used often) it is an issue. Further more in comparison with vanguard our skills to finish the cd on HiB are weapon damage which can be easily defended vs the elemental and tech abilities vangs have to proc HiB. Anyway the devs have to redesign the trees of commando or allow us to switch advanced classes.
  15. Still no dev respond in our thread!!! But i would like to know the population distribution of classes after the patch. Because in my server it is usuall to have 8 out of 10 wzs dominated by sorcs and maras + a random bounty hunter. Anyway it is a lost cause because they will implement the changes. But they will not keep them for more than 3 months. Then they will say about their metrics lead them to change again their stuff and propably destroy another class maybe. I have seen the same mistakes from the same people in Warhammer. Unfortunately they havent learned anything. This patch will hit them hard and they will undo the changes that implement now even as they claim they are testing them on PTS. But from what it seems it will be very late.
