  1. I'll put my vote in for Dirty Fighting, as the better chunk of your DPS can be kept up when at range and through fight mechanics like LOSing eye lasers or hiding from lightning behind NPCs. AOE is great for PVP too.
  2. I love DF, and playing around with the skill calculator I think this is my best path for 50. Any suggestions are most welcome. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701bc0MZhZhrbkrMGdhR. I really like Feeling Woozy to close gaps enough to get Tendon Blast off but it's a useless PvE ability(or so far for me) and I figure the points could be better spent in decreasing defensive cool downs. I'm kinda on the fence for the 4% reduction. Maybe Element of Surprise would be a better place to spend those points. More DPS or better survival?
  3. Your DOTs would have to crit a LOT to keep up with the energy you'd be burning. Though you could always preload a couple HOTs before engaging. I spend most of my time out of stealth as a DF anyway. Though those 2 GCD I'm using would cost some damage while I closed to melee.
  4. DF rocks, dunno why people think it sucks. I'm always topping damage. 9/10 matches, and always in top 3 otherwise unless I get stuck defending. Top 5 in kills and still capping things. 4.5 second cleanse<instant cast vital shot Let em cleanse and waste a GCD, means they aren't DPSing or healing, gives time for your interrupt to come off cool down as well.
  5. I know an operative was just destroying me over and over with all those stuns. I never had a problem with burst. I don't know of it was a fluke and finally ran into someone who is good. But the stunlock rocked me repeatedly. I'm gonna have to check out scrapper when my respec resets.
  6. Tellin me. Had a pair of BHs working together last night. Guess they finally saw what I was about an focusede the rest of Void. Needless to say i came in a distant 3rd on dmg. And a good portion of there's was my blood lol.
  7. That I can agree with, but it also depends on having your cool downs and if your focusing one person your not supporting the ball runner or guarding or assaulting a node. Or if yourbdoong those its unlikely your gonna get around the AOE. Sadly the way Bioware made the WZs favors lighting AOE spam and grenades an such.
  8. Well that's fine, if he's cleansing he's not healing or doing any dps. Let him waste a GCD. Hell with the lowered energy cost I can pretty much dot at will, and I've found the majority of healers worry about dps or healing themselves rather than cleansing. Especially with the crappy buff/debuff you can't see, and no telling where the damage number are coming from if your in the heat of battle with multiple targets. I suck at math(feel free to correct where I'm wrong lol) but talented@50. 2538 over 15sec comes out to 170dps Browbeater brings it to 200 Another 25 dps on targets under 30% So at peak performance it ticks 675 every 3 sec. Unmitigatable as well Yeah not much. BUT... 25% of those will tick twice and the other talent which gives another 12% to crit. Which at my level gives me crits half the time return energy as well talented. Sure you can do a lot more burst in 2GCD, but you have to be in range, in stealth to be the most effective as Scrapper. But the extent of my calculations runs out there. Not sure how to calculate both of those in dps wise. Maybe a match wiz can chalkboard it a lil better for us. But my question is when taking the extra 3sec talent. Does that give you an extra tick or the same dmg over longer? Cuz that changes the whole thing
  9. I know I eat up energy once I get into melee, I can usually range spam at will. Hit level 40 and finally broke the 300k dmg mark in a game of Huttball. Topped every WZ except 2 all night. 1 I was bored at a turret in Void and then beaten by a Consular. O-o
  10. Look awesome in theory with the ability to have UH up so much. But I bet it'd suck your energy bar dry with the quickness. When I hit 50 I'll have to try it out. With a bleed build you can still be putting out dps if you mismanage enrgy. And people talking about the "shorter fights" how fast does trash drop in Ops? Talented VS is done in 18 seconds.
  11. I actually haven't been topped by a GS or other scoundrel in dmg terms yet pre 50. Consular/operative/inquisitors/bounty hunters have. Even scoring 2-3 times in huttball I normally beat the next class by 20-40k. Top 5 in kills on average, though I've had Consulars beat my kils by 20+ that is pretty impressive. Makes me wanna try one out. But that's all subjective, people that deathmatch more will have higher numbers. I actually heal people when the chance arrives as well. Open wound gives another tick to VS right? Also another chance to tick twice and chance for double crit=more energy.
  12. I dunno DF is pretty sick for PvE as well with preliminary results. I ran the build for a while questing in Balmorra, I also geared Risha up to run with, her AOE sucks so i just put her on single target. Between shrap bomb/thermal grenade and the lower cost vital shot I can pretty much tag the whole group with dots and if the normals aren't dead by the time I get in melee range they will be by the time I get of wounding shots/dirty kick/backblast on the silver mob. I usually skip Pugnacity as the fights are over so fast. Which does create an energy deficit of the pulls are close. Lots of groups I'll just put pug into rotation. Now granted I'm way ovelevelled cuz elites go down in 10-20 seconds. I'm burning through the class quest to get mobs more my level and better quest rewards. Also ran Maelstrom and Taral and I know I'm putting out way more single target DPS than before as I consistantly ended up face tanking when I kept stealing(way more than as scrapper) from a tank friend 3 levels higher. As well as being able to dot up everything in sight. Now I can't burst down a normal from stealth in an FP but that's the trade off. Being more mobile on fights is way better IMO. Especially bosses like the bonus in Taral and the eye laser guy, you can just jump and pop the dots on him while still staying out of LOS. It's the most fun I've had as Scoundrel yet.
  13. I'd love a WoW style dual spec, change on will. I loved going from feral to moonkin on tree at will.
  14. It's not a need but itd be nice to have, just don't make it spammable in chat and only for personal use. I'm competitive, if me and a friend want to cross dps/healing numbers it makes things more intense. And if I'm equally geared/specced and I'm not pulling weight I want to know why. I think logs will reveal how horribly imbalances some skills/classes/specs are. Which will cause a lot of QQ but that's good because the knowledge will give the community the right to complain that Bioware fixes what is broken.
  15. Closest thing to logs is our PVP numbers sadly. Scrapper is fun as well don't get me wrong. It's just a different play style, single target burst vs AOE DOTs. I wish energy was better though, I find myself empty after blowing cool downs and chasing people down with my blaster lol. Does armor mitigate bleeds? Or just shields and whatnot?
  16. What kinda crit rating are raid geared people getting? And I assume the dot crit increase is on top of your static crit rating? I can hit around 50% with relic and adrenal. Modded out with crit stuff i imagine 60+% is easily reachable if not higher. Granted till logs come out its all theory craft. I'll be running it on Balmorra all of 39-40 as I need to grind some cash and well see how it feels.
  17. So I went dirty fighting(vital shot build) at 38 and pvped till 39, i dont see where all the hate comes from. Personally, it suits my play style more as I'm mobile and rarely sitting around waiting to pick people off(i still use stealth when applicable should the opportunity arise). Actually averaging bout 50k more dmg and a good 10kills higher. Either topping or in the top 3 in kills/dmg. Consulars/bounty hunter/inquisitors an well played troopers always seem to be up there in the top 5. And that's still scoring in huttball and such and not death matching. Still only maxing out at 225-250k dmg so far (40-50kills max)WZ but I'm sure it will increase as I L2P and level up. They do need to put wounding shot on a cool down instead of needing upper hand. It's really nice in huttball, vital/scrap bomb/thermal grenade/and spam normal shots when closing distance can put the hurt on when your on a different platform. And the talented movement debuff with leg shot keeps everyone in a nice pack for blaster volley/thermal grenade when changing rooms In Voidstar. And nothing beats watching 2 people die from DOTs after theyve jumped and killed you, or they run away to heal up and die a few steps from the heal icon or half a sec before they get a heal off. Can't wait to get even a nerfed shoot first to put in the mix. Tonight I'm gonna start working in sabotage charge to AOE and keep the healers busy. Anyone wanna critique this build for me? I have 2 extra points somehow that I can't remember what it is but in 2 levels I'm pretty sure it'll look the same. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701bcZhZhrbkrrhk.1 Not sure how it adds up for questing and FPs I imagine Ops would be a lil better as its easier to put on bleeds than jockey for positioning.
  18. My secret Santa at work got me a best buy gc so I'm paid for at least 2 months. We shall see how things are then.
  19. Yeah I wouldn't wanna try it without Corso taking aggro, even being a few levels higher and getting the tactics down I still burned through 2 medpacs. One regular and one companion. I think it has a lot to do with how well your comp stays put, if you can keep him out the AOE and only have to worry bout dps and rolling a hot on yourself it's easy. But if he wants to chill in the AOE. It's aggravating.
  20. Didn't know the tactics at 30 as sawbones and failed, finally came back at 31 and got it down the 2nd time after turning Corso on passive to keep him out the AOE while I beat on him. Them body pulled him into the river and me and Corso dropped him there. Finished up the Jedi then, she took a decent amount of healing in there. I probably had Diego down to 20% by the time we engaged. And wouldve been even faster if I hadnt missed a nut kick timing and interrupted an attack by mistake.
  21. With a 41 tank I specced healer and still kept getting owned. Sad they cant fix this problem. Now I know why noone will run Cad anymore.
