  1. Played on TZ and Zek: Beefusmaximus. Was in various guilds on TZ (blood runners, lex, incursion) but mainly Ascending Dawn on Zek. Now I'm just Beef on Vulkars Highway~ BTW, a new EQ (called Next) is in the works. More like EQ1 than 2/wow
  2. Because its one game. You shouldnt need sets of gear for every aspect. What is better is multiple methods to acheive good-enough gear. To the nay-Sayers, doing the same 3 WZs hundreds of time doesn't warrant skill. Raiding is tougher than faming valor, which you get just for being in a WZ, win or lose
  3. Healers are a main part of mmos. Go play a FPS if you just want to blast people from afar and win every time. The only problem is every range DPS thinks they should win every fight cause they're speced DPS...
  4. So, I've seen purple techblades, but I've RE two stacks of blue mats worth of Redoubt techblades with no luck. It could be the RNG monster, but it could be a broken recipe. Has anyone else RE the level 50 redoubt techblade?
  5. Seems a bit steep to me. As someone posted earlier, it's 120 games for a saber. At roughly 15 min a game, it would take over 30 hours for that piece of gear. 30 hours of the same 3 WZs mind you -- quite a grind... I hope they let you get BM comms before valor 60 at least. At least then, between 50-60 valor, you can hit 60 and get 2-3 items.
  6. I just wanted to add, while one might say, if mana pool is gone, it's all gear (skill aside), I could see that IF power affected heals more (or as much as it does DPS), or if different tiers jumped by more than a few (PvP sets add single-digits each). So, could a relatively fresh 50, Cent gear and/or crafted stuff, heal HMs? Didn't see post above (was typing). Thanks for the input.
  7. So, I imagine tanks are probably the most gear dependent for HM, but what kind of gear is needed to heal a HM? Would Cent pvp gear be enough? In most games, skill aside, what you can heal boils down to mana pool and gear. Since mana pool is static in this game, would it be safe to assume that healers don't rely as much on gear for HMs? (since gear sets only vary by like 5-10%) Now, I can see needing X power and Y crit to keep up with mob DPS, but with a good tank, you just need to know what to do, right?
  8. EQ Next is supposed to be more like EQ1, but there's little info on it so it's still years away Dev make MMOs that copy the ease of WoW to make a fast profit. WoW brought a ton of people to MMOs, so more hardcore MMOs may get a lot more interest since people seem to be bored of WoW. The problem will be convincing people to give up macros/add ons and to appreciate death penalties. When you are scared to die and can't Zerg from 10 feet away after dying, open PvP becomes real fun~
  9. "Every single Alderan I quit right at the start if some of my team goes MID. VS if they held us at the first doors and they get through the 1st set on their round I quit. Huttball, if we go 2 down, I quit." First, I'd like to thank you for you service defending Paris in WWII.... But really, that's just sad. Taking mid is just as viable as left or right. Maybe they should keep E/L records, an give 2 losses per quit as incentive~
  10. Deserter debuff for 15min. The caveat? Allow you to drop a WZ without penalty within 30 sec of joining. That way, if you hate the map, or join an obvious blowout, you won't be penalized. People need to learn that losing is part of the game. Quitting should be punished, and people should try to fight through when they are down. Comebacks happen, but not when people quit!
  11. So I guess I should be hoarding mats and items to RE, but not RE anything til 1.2. Wish I woulda seen that before blowing a few hundred K on a looooow RE chance~ BTW, I used to RE MANY items between 5-10 tries consistently. Over the past week or so, I've gotten one RE in close to 100 items -- various skills lvls. Could it be RNG? Sure. But, perception/odds would indicate they accidentally broke some code recently...
  12. PvE gear should be better. It requires gathering more players, and is typically the end-all in content. PvP gear should give an alternate method for earning gear to make you viable in PvP. Im not sure why people think doing warzones nonstop means they should crush all others. Technically, you could lose most warzones and still get the PvP gear. Nothing is stopping PvPers from raiding Ideally, a person would need to raid, PvP, group, and hell even starship to get a complete best gear list...
  13. I'm only 44, but am trying one-- may go full heal later, but am planning for 21/7/14 I think. Basically, go seer to get the channel heal, TK for force bubble, then balance for FIB, no cooldown throw, and the double rock. U can choose between crit chance n throw vs healing when a dot crits. Gives you a little more dps than straight healer, but TBD if it makes up for no AE heal.
  14. Update: Beefus on Vulkar's Highway now has blues for every level thru 50. Will be working on getting the purple 50 if i get mats.
