  1. This is probably the best analogy I've seen in quite some time, plus its funny! Do people realize that this is "pre-season"? Basically number crunching for BW and test period. Most things in MMOs take ALOT of time to fully flesh out and become fully realized, if youre expecting a perfect game right away, then I'm sure some lonely single-player game could use some of your luvin's.
  2. Not if I had already gotten past the capital world of whichever faction...But I would like to be able to chance my Miraluken's(sp?) The one he's been wearing has got to be all sweaty and nasty at this point...
  3. I see your point but that is kinda also the problem...they're going to increase the level cap by what about 5? 45-50 isn't some epic journey that you feel really accomplished about since you get massive exp rewards for quests/fps/pvp matches as you get to a higher level to compensate for the increased exp reward for the next level. I don't know just seems like there should be some sort of feeling of accomplishment for reaching the level cap, not something that is handed to you. Making it so FPs can be grinded quicker only makes it less of an accomplishment to reach whatever new level cap is introduced.
  4. Before update 1.3 that is. One of the things that really stood out to me in the patch notes was the arbitrary "dumbing down" of the flashpoints, specifically hard mode ones. This really made me wonder if the instances were truly that challenging for most players...to me it just seems like a nonsense decrease in whatever difficulty was there before. That this happened at the same time as the group finder goes live, is obviously no mere coincidence. So I ask myself, and my fellow forum goers: Is this the new generation of MMORPGs? End game content that requires no communication, or strategy, that a group of four random players can do together in a breeze the first time without ever saying a word to one another? Personally, it makes me feel as the rewards(read: gear) are simply given anymore rather than earned. Am I just behind the times, or does anyone else see this as a problem?
  5. 3/10 since I can't pronounce it My main is Darth Roz'zi
  6. He's got a PhD and a Master's degree...Pretty sure that means we should take his suggestions as gold. Note: I did not read past the point he stated his "qualifications" so i don't really know what he suggested or if they were worth reading. Probably not.
  7. First choice would be as a Kel Dor Second choice would be as a Nautolan
  8. This game is failing because there are no female droids...BioWare should have planned for this contingency!
  9. Must be an epic kind of item if youre spending 60+ hours to farm a item that may or may not drop....
  10. I think I've played or tried all the star wars games since the N64 with the exception of SWG and Dark Forces or whatever game came before Jedi Knight Outcast. I think hands down my favorite was X-Wing Alliance...that game had so much depth and never got old for me...might have to scrounge a copy up and break out the joystick...
  11. All I know is that Caladan Brood, the High King Kallor, or Anomander Rake would wipe the floor with any of them. I would prefer to see Rake kill them all. That way they would all be trapped inside Dragnipur for all time, to fight each other non stop, never able to kill one another.
  12. The only time I have trouble holding aggro are when the assassin I run HMs mode decides he's bored and wants to use his taunt to mix it up a little and get the mob on him. At first I would get flustered and quickly taunt the mob back onto me. When I found out what was really going on, I let the mob wail on him until he uses vanish after watching his health steadily decline. The only other time I have trouble holding agro is when the merc I play with decides to use death from above on a mob plus a CC'd elite. When this happens I just think oh **** and hope they can dps the mobs before they die. As you can see, in either case its the dps players fault. However the lack of AoE threat generation for Juggs/Guardians is just ridiculous compared to other tank classes and thus is very frustrating. If the only thing they did for AoE threat was allow Smash to generate a high amount of threat as well as the damage, I'd be a happy juggy.

    Tank stats in PVP

Still no dev input? This is pretty disheartening for a thread of this magnitude especially since its been going for a week now... I'm currently rolling my 50 immortal(ha ha) jugg with a heavy dose of PvP...only have 2 or 3 pieces of tank gear so i'm debating whether to start gearing up for more DPS. If a dev gave some insight on the subject it'd be an easy decision whether to stick with tanking gear or start getting dps gear, but as it is now I'm kinda stuck in limbo. WTB Dev input on this subject.
  14. I fail to see how adding rewards for getting objectievs/preventing caps, would cause any further imbalance in PvP. Enlighten me?
  15. This. I read these forums while I work so I read all about the lack of game content on Ilum. I hit 50 and travel to Ilum, and boy am i shocked when there is stuff to actually do. I dont think I knew what to do with myself for the first 5 minutes. My advice: take what you see here on the forums with a grain of salt.
  16. This OP has to be the single best thought brought to these forums. Add in the subsequent posts further explaining the concept in multiple ways, to peope that simply cannot or choose not to understand what is being said. EverQuest was to me, what WoW is to many people that transition from there to the ToR universe. Will any game ever replicate the uniqueness, the tight-knit community feel, and the nuances that made that game so special to me? I highly doubt it. But even if it did I'm not sure I would want that. I stopped playing EQ for a reason, same as a lot of people on here stopped playing WoW for a reason. If you stopped playing that game, why then try a different game and then complain that it is too unlike the game you just left? This will never make sense to me. I for one, am excited to be here and a part of the early stages of an MMORPG that has the potential to be a long-standing success. Is it perfect? Hell no, but I never expected it to be. Is it too easy at parts? Sure, but level 50 is a relatively low cap so I am curious to see what happens once the cap has been raised. These things take time though and no amount of development from one studio over 7+ years is ever going to have a huge impact on another studio developing their own game. BioWare is their own company, they are not an offshoot of Blizzard, nor will they likely(i hope) implement the same features that can be found in WoW. Once again I agree with the OP...if you want the polish of WoW so much...go back and play WoW. You're never going to find that in any game that just launched, and if you do expect that, well then I have some shiny gems to sell you...
  17. This. Anyone that has played EQ for any respectable amount of time will find the "grind" in Swtor, refreshing and fluid...as opposed to sitting down on your horse in a corner with 5 other toons, blasting mob after mob after mob after mob after mob to shreds. Though both styles are enjoyable for, considering its an MMO...not sure what people whining about "grind" were expecting.
  18. i've gotten cybertech to 400 and i can say that the purple mods I can make are better than anything i can get with commendations or that is already in armor...relatively the same for blues...the blues I can make arent usually available until the next planet i get to.
  19. Go travel the balloon on Tattooine that takes you to the special sandcrawler in the Dune Sea. Do that and than see if the game still feels small. That is all.
  20. Thats what I thought too...which is why i was surprised to have two heavy armor chest pieces, with the same exact mods in them, and one having a higher armor rating than the other. Was a head scratcher for me for sure but i just ran with it.
  21. No that's exactly how it is designed to work. Though I do know some orange armor has higher armor stats. Being a tank this is important since I got a new piece of armor, switched all my mods from my current chest piece to the new one, and came out with like 80+ armor or something like that. So if youre a tank or just want higher armor rating, it might be necessary to upgrade once in awhile.
  22. I want my Kel Dor Sentinel already...
  23. Wait, wait...this game isn't a carbon copy of WoW???? the ****...i've been decieved by the masses again!
  24. Ironic thing is...with your first point about the game becoming full of micro transaction like WoW is: most people I see on the forums are strongly advocating adding features commonly found in WoW, in an effort to make the game as familiar as WoW has become. So if some people were really afraid of this transition to a WoW-like state, the contradictions would become rampant. Then again, I suppose I should expect something like that by now.
  25. Can someone opposed to legacy name changing please post a coherent reasoning as to why they would be against such a personal feature? I've read this entire thread and I've only read inaccurate things about guilds/players identifying bad players(or bad behavior) through their legacy name, but considering the option to simply hide the surname as well as the legacy <insert name here> bar, this point is effectively moot. Again I am really interested in competent reasons for being against a name change? Too many personal attacks to the OP that have no constructive use or need here.
