  1. A method I used was to start off with the 4 second stun, apply fusion missle which does damage over time, rail shot, activated my 'heroic' power, which started regenning me and reset my stun. So when he came out of his stun, I hit him with the stun again and kept firing. That 8 seconds of stun at the start of the fight. Jet blasted him away when he charged and generally just kited, used my shield, medpacked when Mako was clearly not keeping up and used a few heals on myself (since I was a healspecced Merc.) Keep fusion missle up and combustable gas cylinder to keep DoTing him and rail shot whenever it's up. And if it's still not working, get a friend or guild mate to assist. You don't *have* to solo him!
  2. City of Heroes - played 2 years My first MMO, sucked in by some friends who dangled 3 free months at me. Stayed about 6 months after the last of them drifted off to other games, still quite probably my favorite MMO, and if I'd found a good guild I'd have stuck with it. Nothing still feels as awesome as my scrapper launching into an pack of orange/red level enemies and surviving by the skin of my teeth, taking a fast breath and then doing it *again*. WoW - 5+ years played starting just before the release of Burning Crusade. Would have quit years ago, save for my guild. Wonderful, wonderful people that I have loved spending time with... and most of them are now here. So WoW is only going to last now until my subscription runs out. Good long run, but most of the people I made the memories with came this way. SWG - 1 month on the NGE. My boyfriend gave it to me and I played it a bit but I became so *frustrated* with it that I didn't keep it past the first month. FFXI - about one week. Didn't have fun at all. SWToR - got in before the launch with my old WoW guild and will probably stick with it for several years to come. Still havent even gotten to 50 yet, I'm just cruising along and enjoying the whole package... and filling up my server with alts.
  3. I actually let Torian make the choice, when the guy was begging for mercy. Told him he was asking the wrong person and Torian decided that a punch to the face sufficed. Apparently blasters to the face are for family only with him.
  4. Skadge ... ugh. Just ugh. Gualt at least is capable of decent conversation and had the chutzpah to sell his own cloned corpse in an auction, just to see who'd show up to make sure he was really dead. I just pretend there is no one lurking on my ship's upper deck behind the cockpit and hope that come expansion time and the rumors of new companions, will also come the ability to toss the trash out the back.
  5. Blinks... I came in here for something that might wittily relate to a beer by-product and Mercs. I even ran the post by my protocol droid and he started twitching and sparking. Which was at least an interesting evening for us all when it ran into the power couplers screaming something about the Old Ones coming to devour us all. But yeah, like the above poster said, Torian is your melee DPS.
  6. If it ever drops on the GTN then I'll pick it up and hand the medium vest over to Mako. I'll keep an eye out for it.
  7. I use an orange vest for my Baroness. It's medium armor, sleeveless, bares the midriff and has a buttcape that hides a lot of the leg armor. It's the only medium piece I use, so the drop in armor value is minimal but the look is fantastic. http://www.torhead.com/item/aQWlKBy/inspiration-vest
  8. I soloed him in one try as a Merc, heal specced with Gault as my companion. CC'd the padawan. Kept Gault alive while he blew target away, I needed to re-CC the padawan once as with only Gault doing the damage, it took 90 seconds to down him. Then after he was dead, healed up, and then took the padawan out of her perma-concussion and trounced her. Easy money.
  9. As a heal spec, I find that Blizz is best when I'm duoing with someone else. (I don't use Skadge at all) Blizz goes in first, gets aggro and I keep him alive while the other player throws damage safe and sound. When I'm soloing, I use Torian. He's easy to gear by taking my most recent cast offs and I plucked a nice puprle staff for him off the trade network. Torian doesn't grab aggro like Blizz can, but a standard pack is just a DPS mow down and elites are CC'd until they're all alone and Torian can get their full attention. But yeah, for solo work, Blizz and Skadge are pretty sub-par.
  10. Have you tried elctro darting Tyresius, hit On the Hunt to immediately refresh it (and give you regen), start DPS on the droid and dart Tyresius again once it wears off? That'll put him out of action for a bit. Other than that, there's the standard tap in a friend to assist (you don't *have* to solo him) or put on a level or two and gear up a notch and try him again.
  11. I think the only real LS option I've taken that's affected gameplay was a Jedi's apprentice I let live after killing the Jedi. She came back for a second round and this time I didn't let her live, I assume that it would have been a different Jedi sent for that encounter instead of the poor little thing I'd already kicked across a battlefield once. Needless to say, she didn't send me anymore emails tellling me how horrible a person I was and I should feel bad and turn myself in. I ended up LS2, but I'd be LS1 if it wasn't for me taking a lot of cheap diplomacy missions that were heavily LS, pushing me up into the 2 bracket. My Bounty Hunter is fair, doesn't believe in random slaughter, is willing to bend a contract a little to help out someone who might have just been caught up in the galactic gears... but like that Sith found out on Taris, being merciful doesn't mean ignores threats. Push the Baroness and the Baroness pushes back. And then finds out if your missle-blasted carcass is worth anything.
  12. Actual planet based housing in ToR? Eh, no. I hated constantly running into giant sprawling player towns and resource gathering 'farms' in SWG. But making the ships customizable? That'd be great. Combined with the big guild capital ships that are allegdely in development and we'll have 'player towns' and 'player houses' without cluttering up the planets.
  13. I'd also like to see social points rewarded for PvP activity too, since you're grouping up with others for an objective. A flat amount given at the end, the same for a win or loss with the amount slightly less than what you'd earn on a flash point, since a PvP game is faster played.
  14. That's not the only time you get light side points for a kill either. And usually the same sort of set up. You can take the person in alive, for them to be at the mercy of some very evil people or you can end it with one blast, which is generally presented as being honorable. If a third option to let the other person go is present then that's ususally the light side choice.
  15. I'd love to see a future addition to the cantinas of pazaak tables. Pehaps a little mini questline to find and defeat the pazaak masters of the various planets. As you go along, you increase your pazaak deck, earn some credits and maybe... just maybe... Player vs player tournaments. Earn titles, social gear and of course credits! Various ideas percolated around in my head, from a big weekly pvp tournament on a neutral world like Nar Shadda where Republic and Empire can compete against each other (have to be broken up by brackets to keep the play managable?) Or perhaps a daily challenge by an NPC pazaak master on a random world? You get one shot per day to beat the master, if you lose, come back the next time they're in town! Defeat all the masters, win the Grand Tourney and be lauded as the best in the galaxy!
  16. Fist class: Bounty Hunter/Mercenary (bodyguard spec) Favorite class: same. Though Jedi Shadows are worming thier way upwards in my estimation. Though I'm a bit less obessive about hunting all of them, I tend to focus on which ones give my class the best bonuses.
  17. I wasn't about to give him a chance to run away so I shot him dead in his cell. His words meant nothing to me, I wasn't a Mandalorian anyways. He was my opponent in the Great Hunt and a coward to the bone. So he died like one. I just wish I could have ground in that while he'd sacrificed his 'noble' Alderaanian heritgate to become a Mando, the filthy alien scum he saw me as now *was* an Alderaanian baroness. Then I skipped merrily off, burned down a Jedi, won the Great Hunt, got inducted into the Mandalorians and am now a notorious name across the galaxy. Tarro Blood's hell is watching me become everything he wanted to be.
  18. This is something that a macro would fix, since companions don't attack unless you've unleashed a *targeted* attack or something attacks you. A combined command for your pet to attack and the activation of the DFA circle. Just mouse target whatever you want the companion to hit first, click the macro and then one final mouse press for DFA to go off since your mouse is already hovering over the right spot. As it is, I send in Torian first since he's a melee and then DFA the pack when they collapse in around him.
  19. Very much so. And once you can shelve Mako for Gault or Torian they will tear mobs apart. I open on a mob group with DFA or a missle combo, then pick one that's still standing and by the time I'm done with them, the boys have cleaned up the rest. I've no problem keeping them healed through boss battles either. CC the big guy, whittle down the pack (both Torian and Gault are good at not breaking CC) and then turn your minion on the boss while healing away and adding in a little damage here and there. Plus I get a lot of practice on healing rotations for group runs.
  20. Silver/white or cyan for Jedi. Orange or red for Sith, though the yellow/black combo from the prelaunch crystal is kinda neat. Never been a big purple fan for sabers, so y'all can have mine.
  21. A repair bill isn't a penalty. A short wait to rez in place after a full wipe(fully stealthed to let you move to a safer spot to rebuff) isn't a penalty. Losing XP/levels for dying is a penalty. Thank the Maker ToR didn't go that route.
  22. That looks like a good first step. Fleet invasions! Be a great use for guild ships too...
  23. Torian and Gault when geared are damage dealing monsters. I tend to open up a weak pack with Death from above, and by the time I'm done bursting down the healthiest survivor, they usually have the rest dead on the ground. I like Torian slightly more because he leaps up into melee keeping me out of any AoE headed his way.
  24. How boring. Even though I'm Bodyguard spec, I spend less than a third of my PvP time actually healing and DFA on a melee pack never gets old...
