  1. Bounty Hunters primary stat is Aim... Bounty Hunters don't wear armor from Synthweaving... Therefore, to gear up someone who uses Aim, you need to have Armormech.
  2. Ironically, the example you chose is one in which there is a difference based on what choice you made... Just not a huge one.
  3. I did I did the fight as Corruption spec L46 with Xalek... Once I realized that his attacks didn't do more than tickle me, I just stood in one spot unless he did Force Storm, then I moved... Healing through it was pretty easy with Resurgence and Revivification, then I just burned him down as much as my depleted force bar would let me.
  4. The link doesn't work for me either, but I can't imagine any good reason why you'd go 6/4 lightning/madness instead of 7/3... or is it 7/2?
  5. Seriously, why do people keep spreading this misinformation around? Do people even LOOK? <Alt>-T is "Target of Target". You target tank, press Alt-T, VOILA! YOU'RE NUKING HIS TARGET. I use it all the time, and I even use it to jump back and forth between the enemy and their current target as well. For the focus stuff, I wish I could help, I keep forgetting it exists, so I haven't played around with it yet.
  6. What is your spec? I've been full Corruption from day 1, and as soon as I got Andronikos, I never used Khem Val again. I rolled Andy until Ashara, and kept her until I got Xalek. Only reason I switched to him is because I wanted to practice healing for hard modes, so I'd send him in against impossible odds and do what I could to keep him alive.
  7. This is almost exactly what I did, 'cept for Overload and Tumult. Once I got my first dps companion, I never used Khem again. I nuke hard, and if it's a real tough elite, then I switch into healbot mode and let my DPS companion burn'em down, which doesn't usually take long. I can't imagine how much faster things would have gone as a dps spec, I plowed through everything easily, even being 3-4 levels low (I liked the challenge). I initially spec'd for the +100 force until I got Force Bending and Innervate, then I respecced and went striaght up Corruption until I filled out the 3rd to last tier, then went up Lightning for the +20 to sheld, finished Corruption, then got the last 2 points in the +Willpower from the Madness tree.
  8. Just because the quest says that it's level 41, doesn't mean you HAVE to be that level to do it. I finished up my class quest at 47 and finished leveling 47-50 on Ilum. As a Corruption-spec Sorceror, I purposely did the quests 3-4 levels low for a challenge... Anyone should be able to do them 1-2 levels low.
  9. Bubbles affecting rage generation was a myth, always has been, always will be (At least in that game). As others have stated in this thread, really the only reason not to use it would be because of the debuff, you wouldn't be able to use it in an "oh ****!" moment. For myself personally, I cast it on CD on the tank unless I'm healing up the other dps'ers and he's not taking a lot of damage, so I can use it as a last minute save to heal him back up to full once the squishies are safe.
  10. Unfortunately, UT doesn't have anything above "Moderate". I don't think it really should be "Rich", but it would be nice to have Abundant, because yeah, only getting 2 metals per run is a bummer, unless you crit... It's not too bad though, especially since as a Cybertech, the stuff that sells well (and is worth making) isn't Rank 6 anyhoo
  11. Light vs. Dark does make a difference at a few key points. There are times when choosing the Light option actually opens up a bonus part of a questline (Like towards the end of the class quest in Alderaan, you get 1 more side quest and an extra chest at the end... Which had a credit box... That had like 200 credits in it...). There are also a couple points where not choosing the Dark side option changes things as well. But yeah, I agree with everything else
  12. *ROFL* that was exactly what I said at the end of Act 3... I've been straight Corruption spec since I started, and after I got Andronikos on Tattoine, I stopped doing all the side quests and going to planets 3-4 levels low, just for a little bit of a challenge. I barely ever had problems, and the best I did was solo a gold elite that was 6 levels over me on Voss... He wasn't a particularly tough one, but it was a pretty epic battle at level 41... At 45 I stumbled into him again and didn't even realize he was a gold until the final moments of the fight
  13. I agree with the OP, as the primary healer for my group, it's REALLY obnoxious to have that pop up in the middle of an intense boss fight. To Nat: While the UI is a tad ugly and could use a little tweaking, those of us who are visually impaired (like myself) really appreciate having the large fonts... It's actually rather annoying for me to open up the map or read subtitles because it's so small in relation to everything else.
  14. Yeah, I have the Razer Naga myself, it's AMAZING. I have the top bar keyed 1-=, bottom bar is <CTRL> modifer for the same keys, left bar is <Shift> modifier, and I don't use the right bar yet. I have 1-34 my normal attacks for soloing, 5-0 are heals (Since I'm primarily the healer) because they're easiest to reach on my mouse, - is medpack and = is consumption. For the bottom bar, it's a bit of a mess right now, I need to redo it, but it's mostly my DoTs and CCs, things I may cast once or twice in a fight, but not very often. The left bar is all my buffs/mission items/things I only use once in a great while, including Seethe and my speeder... It's also got Recklensness and Channel the Force.
  15. <Alt>-T is the hotkey for "Target of Target". I use it all the time for soloing and instances. Healing in this game is just the same as it is in any other game that doesn't allow add-ons that hold your hand... Except with less spells, which is good.
  16. I went after her at L29 full heal spec and couldn't get her down past 15% after a dozen tries geared out in all orange gear with green mods and Khem only half equpiped. So I went back the next day with a friend who was L25, he could barely touch her, but he could interrupt. We just focused on interrupting her heals and big damage, after my buddy and Khem dropped I LoS'd her to heal and finished off the fight with almost no force and no health... It was pretty epic and I was so enthused because I had to actually work for it (Plus, I was 3 levels below her). I also didn't know at the time I could get Khem to move out of AoE by setting to passive... Probably coulda gotten her by myself if I did. Ever since then, I purposely go to each planet and do the quests 3-4 levels below what I should be... Otherwise it's a cakewalk... I prefer the challenge of being underlevel and undergeared
  17. It's a perfect example of a mod that broke the game. It made sub-par healers outperform great healers who actually knew how to do their job. It actually caused Blizzard to re-write portions of the API that made other mods that wouldn't be game-breaking to not be able to function at all. Also, the post was in response to someone saying that mods can't break the game, to which I gave an example of one that did. The fact that it was broken by the devs matters not to the argument. Also, the latest iteration of Healbot, while not exactly as it was in Vanilla, is still set up to allow sub-par players who shouldn't be healing at all compete with slightly above-average healers. I tried it in Cata and it still pissed me off. I personally would never use a mod that completely removes skill from the equation. On to the topic at hand, there have been a couple mentions of it already, but mods like DBM, Recount, and Omen are mandatory for most raiding guilds in WoW. The people that want to raid with a non-extreme casual guild are required to have them. My guild did, even the ones I ran... Because they were necessary. The game mechanics were changed to incorporate those mods, so they eventually became required by the game itself... Even though you weren't forced to use them. I'm on the fence about add-ons, personally I'd prefer to just see dps and threat meters baked into the game... While I am not a fan of dps meters because some people just use it as an excuse to do as much AoE as they can, as has been mentioned before, it's one of the few ways that you can definitively tell that someone is not pulling their weight. It helps both hardcore and casual raiding guilds alike, without being a requirement for everyone to use (Some people can manage aggro well by feel, and some people don't care about the meters), but the people who need/want them, will have them.
  18. In WoW there was a mod called "Healbot". It literally brought healing down to 1 button. You clicked the button, it picked the person with the lowest health, and cast the lowest minimum heal on them. So the entire fight, all you do is click the one button and occasionally step out of the fire. I installed it, was horrified by what it did, and boycotted it ever since.
  19. I love people rushing to end game and then complaining that no one else is there with them 2 weeks after launch. I remember MMOs taking months to hit level cap, I'm 42 after 3 weeks of playing, and I certainly know I've been playing it waayyyy more then I should be. The Dungeon Finder is a great idea, but that's not something that easy to implement. The logistics of it alone are a nightmare, let alone the actual coding to get people across servers together in the same place. I'm on the fence about it myself... While it's a great idea and makes finding a group easier, it also kills my easiest method of recruiting people: Finding a PUG and recruiting the good players.
  20. That's definitely a good spec. I opted to go straight up Corruption (I don't have any points in the other trees) so I'd be at peak efficiency when I did Flashpoints (Which I really need to do... Heh). It also helps when I'm soloing a really hard group, I can switch from dps to maximum healing instantly (Which I have to do often now that I'm tackling content that is significantly above my level).
  21. I agree with almost everything... but so you know with #11, <Alt>-T is "Target of target" by default.
  22. I've been leveling straight Corruption since 10 and only have problems if I'm not paying attention or get too complacent. Once I got Andronikos I haven't used Khem except for the 2 quests I've been forced to so far, all he does is hold me back. Once I got Ashara, I haven't had a problem at all. I went to Hoth at 34 and just finished it at 36 (Well, class quest)... I have no problem at all killing gold elites 4 levels over me with her around, and we blow through everything real quick. I purposely started going to planets 2-3 levels lower then the min for it just so I'd have a challenge, once I get within 1-2 levels of the mobs I'm fighting, I just breeze my way through everything. I'm almost tempted to take on my 41 class quest at 36 just to see if I can.
  23. Heh, that's exactly what happened to me to.. I keep my cargo hold pretty well organized, and this makes it really obnoxious to do so!
  24. I've been leveling as a healer since I unlocked my talents at 10. I had a few struggles early on (Fighting the disappearing spider and it's minions) and the fight to get the Lord title... But the only reason the first fight was hard was because my framerate sucked and I hadn't learned the nuances of the class yet. The other fight was because I was 5 levels below the boss (And still got her down to about 15%). Since I got Andronikos, I haven't brought out Khem except for the 2 quests I had to. With him as a companion and me being high up in the healing tree, I solo everything and win. It's actually at the point where I purposely go to a planet 2-3 levels low just so it's a challenge. I don't find it to be slow at all... It might be faster as lightning spec, but I like the utility of being able to jump into the healing role on any heroic, and in a pinch I can come out on top.
  25. Did you go to college? That would constitute a "horrible" point with a much lower quality of life, but it's done so with the hope of a brighter future. By your own logic, nobody should do that because there are no guarantees and it's not worthwhile, yet we have millions of college students. To be honest, I don't want the quality of my life to stay consistent, I want next year to be better then this one. Otherwise, I'd just be sitting at home, playing video games all the time instead of doing other important things, like raising a family or helping the community.
