  1. This event reminded me of epic events back in Asheron's Call when the big bad evil guys would roam to lands and kill random players. I even got my in-game character name from one of these evil dudes. World events like this are great and actually help to give us a sense that we are actually in a "living" and evolving world instead of just a game. Here's what worked: Completely random surprises like this are awesome. I think that pretty much sums it up and I look forward to more of these in the future Making the rewards Bind on Equip was a GOOD idea for those who missed the event due to vacation; those players could purchase the rewards if they missed out, even though the amount of time the event lasted was adequate, in my opinion. People will still complain that they would have to then go and buy the items from other players, but this STILL gives them the option to obtain the items if they want them. Here's where improvement should be made: Players should not be forced to take part in the event in any way if they choose not to; imagine you just started playing SWTOR as a new player and you could not understand why you kept dieing from a plague that you had no control over, since it took place on a planet many, many levels above you There should be multiple stages to these events. While you almost made it to that point with new dailies every day, that's not quite what I mean. What did not make sense to me was that the event just....ENDED. Server goes down for maintenance, and bam, the event is over. The players should have gotten new quests on the last day or so to try to cure the plague. It really didn't make sense to me for it to just abruptly end as it did. I look forward to more surprises in the future along the lines of the magenta crystal, Taunlet, the Orobird eggs, and the Rakghoul event! These are the types of things that will keep me interested in SWTOR as I never know what could be around the corner.
  2. I have an SSD and load times pre 1.2 were fine. Now I've even had load times take up to 8 minutes. The customer service just assumes it is a problem with each persons computer and the devs REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS A PROBLEM. This needs to be fixed or BioWare will continue to lose customers.
  3. When I use SWTOR Unleashed, the button SWTOR Unleashed does not start the SWTOR launcher. What am I doing wrong? Is this intended? Do I have to launch the game manually?
  4. I, for one, want to see cybertech made into something worthwhile. I spent millions reverse engineering items. All for nothing. I thought crafted gear would be on par with end-game gear or I read that somewhere, or that it was their plan to let people take either path.
  5. While the idea of having gear for legacy was good, the implementation was terrible. Both open world PVP systems are also examples of good ideas but horrible implementation. The legacy gear makes NO sense at all to me.
  6. Yeah, that's what it looks like. I even checked the source code of the page and it is generated server side, so for example, there's not an XML file or web service I could call to grab the data. Do you know if new servers are being added still? If so, do they auto appear on that page, or does it take time? My website wouldn't be affected by that, BUT I figure people would want to see their server on there as soon as possible.
  7. I'm thinking an official source instead of a third party source. Since the site I am building will rely on this data, I cannot allow a middleman (that website) to be in the picture. I guess the server status page will have to work for now. The site I am working on is going to help crafters out quite a bit in a HUGE way, but only if people decide to use the site. I'll be launching a beta version soon.
  8. I need a list that I can grab once a week or so that contains updated server names in case new servers are added (including data on if a server is in the US, or overseas, etc) Does such a thing exist other than the page that shows current server status? I'd prefer an XML file or something that I could grab with a script for my website.
  9. I did NOT play on the 15th or the 16th and I have had no trouble already obtaining all the pieces on two characters. I don't see what the issue is, no offense.
  10. To be honest, I am hoping that it is NOT over with quite just yet! I'm hoping all hell breaks loose today after the virus continues to spread and we get a new phase of the event before we finally have to quest to cure the disease....
  11. You can get the entire armor set in 2 days. That's only because the choice between the last quest has 2 armor piece options. You can get 5/6 today and then grab, for example, the belt tomorrow and DNA samples for all the other quests.
  12. True. Regardless, I actually had fun. I would love to see events like this quite often, even. I can understand the complaints of people who don't want to participate who are getting infected, but for everyone else, its a lot of fun and this is only the LOWER LIMIT of what could be possible. This reminds me of Asheron's Call which had absolutely epic world events.
  13. Well, where is my list that tells me where such events are taking place? lol I apologize, but it just seemed strange that it said that. Plus, what going to happen when it ends? Will the plague just magically disappear? lol...that would be even more strange from a logical standpoint. a new phase to cure it would make more sense
  14. Lame. Why would it say planets if it were not true?
  15. Today is Sunday, lots of people are on. Makes perfect sense for the event to possibly enter a "final stage" tonight through the time until it is done.
