  1. 1) WoW doesn't have the option to make your crew craft/gather resources, and I can gather resources myself if I want. I LOVE being able to send my crew on missions to do stuff for me.

    2) Compared to WoW, in SWTOR you can learn new patterns by reverse engineering, up to purple level items. LOVE THIS. Especially love all the different possible types of patterns you can learn this way.

    3) You also have a chance to "crit" on an item you craft and get an extra mod slot. LOVE THIS.

Don't try to tell me that SWTOR's crafting is exactly like WoW's, because it simply is not.

SWTOR's crafting system is exactly like WoW's.

  2. No. I take it you never played strands.

I did. And it's the exact same concept. One team attempts to break through a series of gates to get to an endpoint, then the other team does the same with a time-limit set by the first team.

Seriously, anybody who tries to say they aren't similar is just trying to rationalize enjoying this game without the threat of admitting something about WoW didn't suck.

And Alderaan is EXACTLY Arathi Basin.

  3. I only listed a few thing because WoW launched years ago and to be honest I can't remember everything about it, what I do remember is thinking "this is Everquest re-skinned". Just like any new game nowadays is considered "WoW reskinned".

Ok, hold up. I played EQ from just before Kunark was released until WoW's open beta in 2004, then played WoW until right around 4.0. WoW felt NOTHING like EQ at launch. Hell, just the quest system alone made WoW feel entirely different than EQ. Because, you know, you actually got XP for quests in WoW.

Leveling in WoW: Pick up quest, go kill 30 mobs, turn in quest, get xp.

Leveling in EQ: Sit in a corner with a group and chain-pull the area, wait for it to respawn, and repeat... forever.

  4. ok so its because most lack the ability to play it.

I have a decked out full 10/10 HM EV/Kraggas Marauder so don't tell melee is bad in this game i kill my mob on the council a good 7-10 seconds before our next best DPSer which is a merc.

Melee is in no way bad in this game, whats bad is people blame their lack of ability to play on having to be in melee, so Proto is prolly better damage over the long run you just need to out think a pet rock to play it right, which is beyond the ability if most. Thanks for the info.

An over-abundance of melee-unfriendly mobs and , well, PvP says you're in the minority in your opinion.

By the way, while you're trying to sound smart, you're actually coming off as a little kid trying too hard.

  5. It's a shame 1 on 1 doesn't matter at all in any PvP system I've ever played, especially including WoW.

+10, this thread is pretty convincing, got a lot of ragers already. Also, why is it all the good trolls have jawas as profile avatars?

1v1 will never, and should never matter. Why? Because for 1v1 to be balanced, every class has to be the same. That would make for an incredibly stale game.

  6. Because i dont want to ? i dont wanna grp with a bunch of dimwhitted players who aint got two ***** to drop without doing it wrong, why not do the obvious thing and create a solo que and a premade que ? , why not simply DELETE the freaking warzones and create open rvr/pvp areas instead ? THOUSANDS have posted on this very board, trying to get them to understand That NO ONE wants a freaking WoW 2.0 , but rather a DAoC 2.0 and lets not call the pitiful excuse for a game Warhammer a DAoC 2.0 cuz it wasnt , THATS what you get when you try to combine WoW and DAoC , and PASS on that F the useless warzones, repeatative queing is NOT fun it's NOT Exciting , it'S NOT new it's been done before, RvR on the other hand has only been experienced by a million or 2 players world wide, and i dare say you cant find a SINGLE gosh darn player who didnt like it, the failure was when EA Took over and started introducing fail updates that was never needed.

So don't give me your useless comments

If you don't want to play with other players, go play something else.

Oh, and if the premade that's whooping you is full of "dimwhitted players who aint got two ***** to drop without doing it wrong", like you say you would be grouped with, why are you getting your *** handed to you?

  7. Because 1-49 its not really need. The games give you plenty of stuff lvling. Either from comendatin vendors or quest rewards.

This is hogwash. A tired meme that just isn't true. You have what, 14 gear slots? You get upgrades for 2-4 of them through commendations each quest zone. And quest rewards, for the most part, are garbage compared to what you could buy/make at any given level.

Many people, after experiencing the game through a couple times, like to gear their alts heavily to make the leveling process quicker. The absolute best way to do this is by buying gear as they level, period.

  8. The number #1 reason why every new MMO sucks is because it is all gear based rather than ability based, as long as that factor remains constant people will lose interest and move on to the next new thing.

Making the pvp ranks unlock new abilities constantly betters your character and makes people want to play more. For instance, all the Battlemasters have absolutly no reason to pvp since they are not bettering their character at all.

I don't care what genre MMO it is....once a decent MMO comes out with an ability based system, they will earn my subscription money for years and years. I played DAOC for 8 years before getting bored, and since I'm approaching Battlemaster in this game I'm seriously contemplating un-subbing until something new PVP wise comes out. In order to get almost all of the Realm Abilities in DAOC I needed to play for almost a decade.

This won't work. 2 months in, new players will start to complain that they can't compete in pvp because the people who have been around longer have more/bigger/better abilities and they can't catch up. New players will get frustrated and quit, and the pvp playerbase will never grow.

An MMO designed around a concept that stunts its own ability to grow will fail every time.

And the first time you were to announce that it would take a decade (or hell, a year) to gain certain abilities, people would throw a fit and quit.

  9. They have offices in Europe and America. So your post, as well as being not funny, is also factually inaccurate.

If they were smart, they'd schedule their downtime to affect the least number of players possible. If there are more American players than European players, they should schedule it to favor the Americans.

It has nothing to do with who they like more. It's all about money.

  10. Based on the ignorance in this thread you would think Bioware was sitting in a little room somewhere thinking of ways to annoy their EU playerbase as much as they can.

If it didn't need to be done, they wouldn't do it. Period. If you're so attached to the game you get this angry, maybe it's best you don't play it.

  11. Wanna bet?

    1293 x 1.7343 x 2 = 4485 damage.

They have armor, but I ignore 20% of it permanatly, and a further 20% through debuff, while solo. Let's not even think about expertise buffs. I don't even have surge everywhere that I could have it. On my heavy armor juggernaught, a loss of 40% armor means ~15% mitigation remaining, bringing it to just below 4000. On a class with less armor, the damage is over 4000.

    You were saying?

I'm a rank 55 Rage Juggernaut. I remember very well what kind of damage I was doing with smash before 50. It wasn't 4k.

  12. I make a killing selling barrels and hilts of all levels on the GTN. You can complain that they don't give unique statistical benefits all you want, but if you think there's no point to taking them at all, my 40 million credits would like to have a word with you.
  13. The missions DO make very good money. It's just not the way you're expecting. They bring back minimal credits, sure, but they bring crafting missions which sell very well. Underworld Trading and Treasure Hunting missions in particular bring in a great profit.

Not to mention the boxes you Slice at level 50 have anywhere from 1.5-2k credits each in them. And as plentiful as the boxes are, you can make 100k an hour while you do dailies.

  14. Depends on who's playing it. I've been in numerous warzones where I've done more damage than my marauder guildie.

This is always a stupid answer. "Depends on who is playing it." Put a pro behind a Juggernaut and a 7-year-old behind a Marauder, yes, the Juggernaut wins. But it's quite obvious the question he asked implies everything else being equal, including gear and ability of the player.

Again, OP, no. Juggernauts cannot reach the dps that Marauders can.

  15. Your dps is the problem, they should be clearing the trash first and then shifting to the hard hitting mobs. It's not you, it's them.

Of course it is. It's never the tank's fault. /sarcasm

I have zero problems tanking hardmodes as a Juggernaut. I have zero problems tanking operations as a Juggernaut. If you're having trouble, it's you 100% of the time.
