  1. At least they tweeted that they are looking into the "login service not available error".
  2. I checked it with my Windows Defender firewall settings. Both launcher and swtor.exe are permitted for network connections.
  3. Gırr.. Always at my prime time lol! I uninstalled my AV just to be safe. I am installing another AV right now.
  4. So it is not just me then. It is not related to the antivirus program or fixlauncher.exe. Because it was working just fine yesterday. It is a general issue? But then why they did not announce it at their Twitter account?
  5. Hey Guys! I did not do Makeb imperial quests yet so bear with me. I don't understand why Toborro is clinically insane. I have several theories and need your input. 1) Dreadmasters stole Hutt territory and made Karagga go mad (which is explained in the official Dreadmasters entry). Maybe they caused Toborro go insane too (though I did not see any theories referencing to this). 2) Imperials did something to Toborro to make him go mad (or at least imperials are responsible of stopping Makeb's destruction). 3) Simply standard Star Wars overblown melodrama. Toborro saw isotope-5 as the only thing that could save the Hutt Cartel and wanted Makeb so bad that losing the ark also loosed a few of his screws so to speak. What is your take? Thx
  6. You are delusional in the sense that my goal is to drive you away fanboy . In fact I immensely enjoy the game and I am a regular player. Second, this is criticism not whining but for fanboys like you every criticism is whining. Same delusion in the last 15 years of MMOs. You think that just because we criticize something we should shut up, don't play and don't state our opinions on forums. Who are you to think so hımm? Voluntary crowd control slave for forums, ultimate teenage mentality. And you ARE delusional in the sense that you don't care and yet you post a reply. I welcome opinions but not bias. Let opinions fill the forum. Not personal bias or attacks. Lol! And he thinks just because he replied like this he won the argument. He never saw a long post... BTW this reply is a courtesy to all fanboys and you will not get anymore answers from me for this polemic. But this will not stop me of stating my opinions now or in the future. So shoo!
  7. 1) They did this to compete with bright colors of Neverwinter MMORPG. 2) It is a workaround. Not a palette change. Palette change means using different colors. This is Instagram. 3) Therefore results are good at some areas, bad at some areas. Just compare Star Wars Episode VI Jabba's Palace with Hutt Palaces in game (Makeb is different. There they used a different color palette. Makeb looks much better than the rest of the game). 4) Lots of personal taste involved. But due to human psychology many people will get used to it. 5) This does not solve the main problem. Since the game was costly Bioware cut corners. They did not use many different texture packs and they let computer choose the complementary colors. So adding Instagram filters will not make the game look less drab. Besides on some monitors it will look awful. I am using a Toshiba Regza TV with excellent auto color adjustment so I was lucky. 6) For the same reason art is very "industrial" and toolset looking. There are no truly different areas or original face characters. Even the Neverwinter Nights from 2002 looked better than this. Is there a true difference between Dromund Kaas, Nar Shaddaa, Dark Approach and Coruscant? Placeables are different that's it. No true cinematics. 7 Solution: Redesign the game. Practicality, none. We are stuck with bland character designs. Same "American" Jack Kirby looking white man angular faces "dot noses". Just Marvel Comics GIJoe 1984 fetishism. Pheh! And I hate to see Gand and Mon Calamari using the same humanoid body and the same military posture. Seriously people. 8 Some people say that the game imitates WoW. I have no issues with that. WoW perfected online video gaming, game mechanics and user interface. No need to re-invent anything. In fact I am using classic GUI layout. But I wish they had imitated WoW more as in creating truly unique looking environments and characters. 9 Finally, with so many "corner cuts" I will never see why this game cost this much, except administrative and logistics failure.
  8. It says your connection to the server is lost in the loading screen. I can't login
  9. It says your connection to the server is lost in the loading screen.
  10. It seems I can't login to Harbinger. It says login service unavailable
  11. Strange... Lihgtsaber bug now it is fixed for me too. Maybe this issue is only related to Nar Shaddaa and Coruscant. Maybe otper planets/areas are not affected. But Taxi flickering on Nar Shaddaa and Coruscant persists. Whatever.
  12. I have an NVIDIA GTX 580 card. Nothing fixed for me. Not even taxi flickering on Nar Shaddaa or Corruscant.
  13. I am sorry but this bug is NOT fixed. When you dismiss your companion, the lightsaber glow sticks to the last position of your companion. If you kill an enemy and your companion retreats to the default player character follow position same thing happens. Confirmed for Kira. If Kira turns off her double lightsaber the downward blade glow remains. When Kira is summoned when you dismount your speeder she comes with her lightsaber drawn but not as a double blade lightsaber but as a single blade lightsaber. Same thing since the initial release. Why they could not fix this? Not enough QA guys or something?

    Server Down

    Why only harbinger?
  15. 1) Patch 1.4a solved the stuttering issue for me. But 100%. When there is a message displayed on the screen (codex entry warning for instance) or when the game renders a new nameplate for the first time, game stutters once. Additional renderings of the same nameplate do not cause repeating stutters. It seems game is checking something for nameplates (a script) and that causes the stutter. 2) Alderaan and other intense tree areas have slow FPS problem. Nar Shadda and other no foliage have no FPS issues. I have GTX 580. My FPS in Alderaan is 30 FPS give or take. Before patch 1.4 it was always above 50 FPS. I think the fake shadows you added to fonts, user interface, loot indication light shafts and character / monster / creature borders are the culprit. It also seems that you removed the optimization for grass / tree 8x supersampling for NVIDIA cards. This causes noticeable frame rate drop.
  16. I told you. We are minority, so please don't fix performance issues. DON'T FIX IT! In fact I demand that you DO NOT FIX IT!. I also want you to introduce MORE BUGS. Yes more BUGS. Anything to make fanboys happy. Since they are almighty and they know that their rigs are cool and performance issues are trivial. Even if my game was probably runinng faster than yours before the patch 1.4. Even if I am a paying customer... There is a saying in Turkish. Every day is a feast day for madmen. )))
  17. Your guild number in thousands. I see . Ok don't fix then. If your guild numbers can make profit for SWTOR I will haply unsubscribe. So there!
  18. I am sorry but it seems the latest patch won't fix the graphics issues. They are still investigating... Bleah! They think other bugs can cause the company to lose money so they give them priority. But graphics issues it seems are not critical. Do they really think we are a minority here? Listen, my PC is very generic. If a game does not run on my system smoothly there is a very high probability that it won't run on the majority of systems ok?
  19. Why people ask the questions OP asked? Flashpoints and Operations are not an appropriate ending to a game. We need expanded class story content. I like story games not hack and slash games. Besides who told you that MMOs can have only PVP or mostly PVP content? That is the company line sucker punch of cost optimized game design to create fanboys who are willing to buy hack and slash games with no actual story content. Wait! You did not get it... Repeat mmoRPG!
  20. What about an ACTUAL ending to the game? Expanded class and companion stories? Oh wait. They are too expensive. Writing a script, all those voice over wasted on stupid low quality cliche story missions... Eat Operations fool!
  21. It seems the upcoming patch (Oct. 9 2012) won't solve any shadow, UI and nameplate issues. Because they said that they are still investigating. The game is nearly unplayable at Alderaan. I have GTX 580. I don't accept any performance issues. Especially if before patch 1.4 the game was running at 60 fps! I PAY this game. I want quality experience. Or I WILL cancel my subscription. Still investigating what Bioware? UI causes heavy stuttering. Nameplates causing heavy stuttering. Because these shadows are not new. They are an old beta build feature. All you have to do is to take shadows from beta build and put them into the latest graphics card optimized build. If your game can't run or GTX 580 (a directx 9, old engine game) what good are you? Besides why do you add Shadow Borders on creatures, NPCs, people? Those fake shadows look worse than Mass Effect 1. Crysis 2 comes with global illumination y'know? Besides I am not against new shadow formula. Just remove the stupid fake shadow borders from UI, nameplates, loot light shafts and creatures. The game will return to normal than even with the new shadows. You also removed the grass transparency supersampling optimization from the game. Fix it!
  22. The stuttering problem persists for single cards too. I wish people read older replies before posting with frustration. If you disable nameplates the stuttering goes away. But you should not constantly select an NPC or your companion. Because creature selection enables the nameplate for the selected target. So when you complete your task remove the selection by hitting ESC. Hope this helps. I have GTX 580 and disabling nameplates solved my issues by 95%. I never experienced low FPS, only stuttering ( a small drop in performance persists). But some people have lower spec systems or Crossfire / SLI configurations. This solution may not work for them. I think they used an old beta code to add shadows to nameplates, loot visual clue light columns ect. The unoptimized code is causing stuttering.
  23. It could be the new NAMEPLATES system. With 1.4 nameplates have shadows. Some people say that turning them off removes the stuttering issue completely. Please read below and try it. Hope this helps (how this was not posted here lol!) http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=537228 GnatB wrote on Yesterday , 10:28 PM | #10 Also HansBrolo wrote Today , 04:38 AM | #11
  24. I have NVIDIA GTX 580 Core i7 950 and 8 GB RAM With Patch 1.4 I have severe lag. Even if I disable shadows and select the lowest graphic options from game menu the problem persists. I had no issues before applying patch 1.4. Note: Disabling ambient occlusion or enabling it at quality setting does NOT increase OR decrease my frame rate. Enabling or disabling AA does not change FPS. I run the game at highest settings at Full HD + NVIDIA ambient occlusion quality, negative LOD allowed, FXAA, NVIDIA 16 AF override and 8xCSAA, triple buffer.
  25. So no missions for my Jedi on Ord Mantell. Then I should leave I guess...
