  1. I'll be at PAX East, too. I know BioWare will be there with booths, games, and panels, but what about social events? Anything in the works EA/BioWare? /Looking for group
  2. Reporting in from the suburban wasteland known as Columbia. (playing on Anchorhead because my friends are all going there for some power converters).
  3. But, you've made my point. We players are not generic NPCs but those rare exceptions with advanced programming. Tell HK-47 that he's just a tool. IG-88 might have something to say to you, too. I do hear your argument about droids being tools, not people. But, you can say the same about the treatment of non-humanoid aliens in just about any time period in the Star Wars universe. There are forces at work in the galaxy that would deny that they are people, too.
  4. Because the Healer Padawans drop out of Padawan school and follow Smugglers around.
  5. You can't force players to attack you, but you can force companions in Contested Area PvP. Changing the fight from player and pet beating on you to just player can save your life, particularly if it's a DPS pet vs. your tank pet. Then again, that's a lot of forethought into impromptu landscape matchups.
  6. From a gameplay point of view, this. Although, I do miss Jorgan in AoE stance for pure DPS smackdown. From a roleplay standpoint, 4X is just plain fun. "For the Republic!"
  7. I would very much have liked for Jorgan to be Sniper Rifle (lack of Aim Sniper Rifles being the problem mechanic there) and 4X to have a cannon. It makes sense to me that the ranged tank has the bigger gun. Then again, a Vanguard does not have Cannon, so why would 4X? Maybe dual-wielded rifles on the big boy? Answer, no. Just Blaster Rifles for 4X. Luckily, they're easy to find.
  8. I had the same question as I started the Trooper. The easy answer is that it's not the quantity of ammo, but the regeneration rate. The more you drain your power cell, the slower it regens. One of the skills of playing a trooper is learning to cycle your skills in a way that maintains your regen rate and ammo supply. You will get additional abilities and tree skills later on that affect ammo. For now, add in a Hammer Shot every 2nd or 3rd skill to maintain your ammo. You might think that your DPS will go down, which it will in the short term. But, in longer fights, your sustained ammo means sustained DPS.
  9. I think you're the only person who has mentioned this. And I'm very glad you did. I'm not the only person who would like to play a droid. I've love to be a Droid BH or Smuggler! Trooper doesn't work because of the prohibition against Droid officers. And likewise for Imp Agent? But, a Bounty Hunter or Smuggler working for himself? Awesome! With 3 (4 counting protocol) droid companions, we already have a system for gearing them. Basic or beep-boop voiceovers are easy to do. And there's plenty of droid models in the game for player customization.
  10. I somewhat agree. Yes, the AoE damage is lackluster. But it can be useful against groups. Any more damage and there's too much overlap with other skills. And it's a mobile AoE. PG, MV, HoB all have inductions or channels. It may not be the best Ammo : Damage ratio, but it has uses. Aside from great sound and animation, I use ER for the knockback combos (as you mention). Throw a Sticky on a forward target, ER to knock him back into his buddies, boom! Likewise, for knocking enemies off cliffs, watch the hilarity ensue.
  11. Just double checked based on the detailed description you both gave. And you're right! There is no explosion animation (and the blinky remains on the body), but there is a sound and a knockback. Thank you both for your input and helping me figure this out. Problem solved, case closed, and request fulfilled. No more hurt feelings when my allies kill my Sticky Grenaded target!
  12. Ack. Looks like this ended up in classes instead of Trooper. Way to go on first post! Thanks for your reply, hadoken. The red blinky does continue after mob death, but I'm 99% sure the grenade does not go off. I would like it to.
  13. This request might be (minorly) over powered, but why can't Sticky Grenade go off on a dead target? I used the ammo, I'm waiting on the cooldown, and I don't care if it's a live of dead target. Blow it up for the aoe! I try not to use it on low health targets, but it happens (or someone else burns down my target with a blinking bomb on his chest). And I would like to get the benefit of a skill that I used.
