Hi everyone.
First off, this is just my personal opinion about SWTOR and the reason that led me to quit and unsub (Go ahead and troll all you want).
Appologies in advance for the wall of text
I felt the need to post this because it's hard for me to believe that at this day and age, with so many successful MMO's out there with great ideas and utilities, this was the best BW could deliver us after around 4 years of development and 300 Mill invested.
The things i LIKED about SWTOR:
- The graphics looked really good
- The class storyline was good and kept me hooked untill i made Darth
- And..., and..., ....., and...., that's it, i'm sure there are more great things about it but right now these are the ones that popped into mind.
The things I DIDN'T LIKE (Once again i'dd like to stress out that at this day and age, some research could've given us a much better game than this):
->SPACE COMBAT:
- I was expecting some sort of dogfight space combat missions where you actually HAD CONTROL over your ship.
It was frustrating to see that i was riding a sort of a roller coaster and just pointing my mouse cursor and pressing the spacebar to shoot stuff up.
- Missions got boring fast because they were the same except a bit more difficult and more bonus stuff to do.
- WOOT??? NO PVP SPACE COMBAT, now that one folks made me cry a bit :s
How awesome would it be to roam space and encountering an opposite faction's player in his ship and gank him while both enganged in an epic dogfight???
Well, i guess i'll keep dreaming about that
-> CREW SKILL MISSIONS:
- Very easy to lvl.
- Can´t make money out of them because every item that drops on an instance is better.
- The matts are so easy to "grind" that they are worthless in the GTN.
- The lack of need to grind for mats gives removes one activity you could do once you reach lvl 50 when you're not PvPing or PvEing (actually, don't think there is anything else to do
-> PVE:
- After all those Beta test months and 4 years of development, the game reaches the shelves completely bugged
Now don't give me that talk that every new MMO has this sort of problems...
What was the beta test for i ask you then???
- They've released a content patch with new FPs and stuff but the ones that came with the original version remained bugged. Good job.
-> GENERAL IN-GAME FUNCTIONS:
- Woot??? no dual spec??? OMG, now why wasn't this introduced at first, along with some damage/healing meters, and some other cool mods that could do wonders in this game???
- When you're not PvPing nor PvEing, what are you doing??? in my case absolutely nothing because there's simply NOTHING ELSE to do since space combat and gathering skills are out of my equation. (Well, there is the Holodancer, now i know why that was a part of the Deluxe version )
and now to my most frustrating experience in this game... wait for it...
-> PVP
- I don't care what some say, or as they say "Playing as intended", some classes in this game ARE OVERPOWERED.
- Woot?? I got stunned and dropped dead because i got stunned and stunned again and again even though my resolve bar was full giving me absolutely no chance of a fight back???
Now where is the fun starting and ending a fight in a perma-stun condition?? None in my case.
I played a healing specced Sorc, couldn't even cast a heal with all those stuns :s
But as some say, that's PvP, deal with it...
- Woot?? that Operative/smuggler just crit me for half my HP, got me stuned and finished the job in the next 2 shots??? wow, that was some cool pvping. Oh wait, i got out of stun with half HP left, "now i'm going to get you, but... but.., what the... where did he go??"
Then he show's behind me again and does the 2 shot thing and i'm dead again. NICE
- Expertise??? Oh come on. You hit for what you wear, we don't need more dmg/heal buffs. What about the new ones in PvP that have 0 ZERO expertise?? this is ridiculous
- Targeting with the TAB key is terrible
- Targeting using the mouse, even worse (sometimes like 10 clicks ON STATIONARY TARGETS and still nothing.)
And what about those Troopers/BH???
So let me get this straight...
They gave a toon that wears HEAVY ARMOR, some of the highest DPS output, can cast shields and can HEAL???
OMG, can anyone kill one of these dudes 1v1?? if so, my congrats to you
(Well i am a lowsy player so... )
We've already started seeing a huge amount of troopers in the wzs and Ops/smuggs as well, soon these will be the 90% core classes in the PvP because they are imo overpowered.
And what about Illum???
Who came up with that anyway??
HUGE FAIL imo.
Anyway, i could be wrong about this, so regarding the OP classes, this is how i feel.
Anyway, PvP is no longer fun, it is frustrating to spend an entire wz under stun cc, i'm tired of all the push, pull, throw, stun, it's just too much.
The least they could have done is make the resolve bar actually work, and NO, it DOES NOT WORK. I get stunned all the time when my resolve bar is full.
-> LvL 50:
- Do PvP (which is how i explained above imo)
- Do PvE (same...)
- Do... err.... nothing else
- No need to go walk the wonderful world of SWTOR in search of crafting mats because your pets can do that for you.
- No need to spend time crafting stuff, taking playing time so that less stuff would enter the GTN making them actually worth something because your pets can do it for you.
- So, bottom line, once you've reached LvL 50, there's not much you can do.
-Again imo, PvE is ok but still needs all those buggs fixed before they even think about adding new content.
-PvP is a terrible experience
-Space combat a joke
-Class balance.... is there any??
Anyway, as i mentioned before, this is just my opinion.
I would appreciate it if people added info on this because i might be just rage quiting out of sheer frustration and not seeing the big picture.
Troll if you want to troll, but i would prefer if people added positive comments as to why i'm making a huge mistake to quit this game
