  1. Go to the fleet and go to the Combat training area. Look for the PvP armor vendor wearing white and blue trooper armor. He sells armor for level 20 and 40 (which has mods you can replace with ones of your level, making you able to wear it at 30 or whatever). Not hard to find. (EDIT: You'll need a lot of commendations from warzones to buy the armor)
  2. Yeah, but just for argument's sake, count out only the abilities in your NORMAL class page and count the buttons on a console remote (PS3, Xbox 360, doesn't matter). Now add movement, camera, advanced class abilities, speeders and anything else. It wouldn't even begin to fit on a remote. Sure, I love my consoles, been playing them since 1995 (when I was 5) but I'd rather play an MMO on a PC (which I have been on since 1997). Most PC games do not translate over well to consoles. The whole patch-limit size is just a tiny fraction of a reason for the madness not to exist.
  3. You're fine. Just do a warzone or two and maybe some space battles if you want to buffer yourself for Balmora. But if you want a challenge, just keep going. It won't be too hard.
  4. Just remember this: Most people that complain are not trying to fix problems, but change the game to suit their style of play. That could mean (and usually does mean) that those complaining just want God-Mode and are mad that they can't use cheat-codes. Very few people complaining actually want to fix REAL problems, and even less of those think out the problem and try to find solutions. Those last few are the ones Devs should listen to, the problem is shifting through the thousands of whining little brats to find those actual problems that need to be fixed. This game's PvP is fine, very much so for a brand-new game. Fix the software and server issues, then try to balance whatever needs to be (remember, most players are not level 50 and balance endgame is more important that your Epeen). Don't let the trolls get to you.
  5. Well... There is a thing I heard that Force Lightning is Elemental (my trooper only has 7% resistance to Elemental attacks) while Sages' telekinesis is kinetic (being subject to resistance from armor, my trooper's being 45%). Just a rumor, I haven't checked it myself.
  6. I LOVE HARPOON!!! Sith Inq trying to run after getting beaten down? Harpoon. World PvPer trying to speeder bike past you after killing your friend? Harpoon. Stealth Class try to make it past you? Stealth Scan, Harpoon! You get CC'd and that Mercenary is trying to out-DPS you at range? You guessed it, HARPOON! Imperial Sniper sitting behind that danged cover? Not harpoon... But Cryo grenade and then... HARPOON!! *Note: Harpoons have been proven to cause QQ, please use wisely*
  7. One item: Biometric Crystal -Something-. Binds on pickup and hard to comeby early in this game's life. Makes it hard to make the modifiable weapons in armstech. I would know. I'm thinking about going Armortech or Cybertech just because of this, but I know the same thing will probably happen. (Note: I'm at Armstech 400)
  8. Over 10 days after Early Release, and many people only leveled, skipping space battles, crew skills and other things. I got my invite on the 14th and I've hit 43 with my trooper, maxed out Armstech and finished almost every bonus series AND maintained a job (NOTE: But not a social life). But don't take this as an arguement, just a show of information, some of which might not be needed, and has been given because of my tired brain...
  9. Would be cool if Guard lowered CC's timers by any where from 20-50% (not more than that). But that might give tanks too much control of the battlefield... Maybe do that for JKs and SWs tanks only? But yeah, stunlocks suck. But if you stay with your team (not go solo into a pack of 3+) you shouldn't be stunlocked or CC'd to death in this game. If you are, and your team isn't stopped it, get a new team.
  10. Remeber that ranged classes are limited in said range (mostly 30 meters) and that 4 advanced melee classes can just jump to their targets (excluding Smugs/Agents) and that they are suppose to be limited by the fact that they are MELEE and not ranged classes. Outside of jumping into a crowd and getting facerolled, neither me nor my friends are having issues with our Sith Warriors or Jedi Knights, excluding lag and input bugs (which ranged classes ARE affected by as well). So comparing this game's starting PvP with most other MMOs, I'd say they are off to a great start. No one class is completely OP (I have a mental list of what can hard counter what) and no class is totally useless (the player, on the other hand, might be). If you hate being melee, reroll and leave it to those that LIKE it. If you refuse to reroll, be prepared to LEARN HOW TO PLAY based on THIS GAME'S MECHANICS and not those of OTHER games.
  11. Fixed the top the best I could. From what I can tell, Gunslingers, Snipers, Commandos and Mercs are useful for killing Sith Sorcs. As a tank, taunt and guard and just provide support. So either go down a DPS tree or stop complaining and L2PvPTank
  12. Grab a Vanguard in the shield tree, 100% chance to immobilize for 3 seconds after revealing someone with Stealth Scan. I'm only assuming here, but Powertechs probably have the same thing. 10 second targetted AoE with a 30 second cooldown. Use in chokepoints or near objectives, bound to catch someone with it. Then harpoon/storm or sit back and spray. That's how you counter stealth, outside of waiting for them to break it for an attack. For the CCs, that's how this game is. Sucks a little for Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors, but they'll probably find some kind of balance for that sooner or later. In any case, this PvP experience is pretty nice. They just need to fix some bugs, lag, and the help fix the problems people are having with their FPS.
  13. As a player with both a Sith Warrior (Jug) and a Trooper (Vanguard) I'm fine with this semi-auto-facing. And no, I've never had issues with circlers, and have many times watched them kill themselves by accidently turning too fast and putting their back in my face. This game just makes the terrible people have one less tactic to employ and those people are mad because they can't crush newbies (people new to MMOs and not used to using thier mouse to turn) or getting that very slight lead against an equally matched opponent. To those of you complaining about Auto-Facing (and yes, it is limited) learn to play your face and find OTHER ways around it. If you can't win without it you have bigger issues than "rang'd classesss OP!!!!111QQmoar" (EDIT: Being tired kills all ability to spell properly, and yes I've been playing MMOs since 1999)
  14. Orange weapons can be modified and have their stats changed. This means you can put level 50 mods in a cannon and have it at level 50, and have gotten it around level 17. Just find a cannon that doesn't clip into you, make sure it is orange and replace the mods in it as you level up. That should fix your problem. Armstech dealers can make orange weapons later on, whether or not that can build many different types of orange assault cannons are not something I know. Do the math in your head and fix the problem quickly.
  15. I support very minor rewards for open world PvP. Small gains in Valor. Small gains in Experience (10% or so from similar mobs of the same level?) A way to show Kills versus Deaths, although this might start a grind of newbies so people can show off their 130 kill-to-death ratio as being L33T-pro. (maybe just show kills only?)

    Too much CC

As a person that has hated the 'trinity' system from Day One, and a player that LOVES CC my views are somewhat biased. I have not PvP'd in a warzone yet, but I have on the PvP server I have been playing on for nearly the last month (Beta, Game Test, Early Game Release and now). CC from what I can tell is fine. I have no experience past level 36 in PvP (Vanguard, Shield spec). I've killed and been killed, and CC was never the major force in declaring the winner. As far as I can tell, every class has some form of a counter, and some classes even have a counter to that. I have lost a few kills from stealthing players knocking me back and running off to safety, but now I hope Stealth Scan with a 3-second immobilize will change that. I think this game involves more skill than many people let on, and they are just too used to other games, REFUSING to learn the mechanics in this one. Plus, the fact that so many are arguing for and against shows the system is actually good the way it is. If a majority of people were complaining with only a few defending it would be a sign of a problem. I see no problem here. TL:DR- LearnToPlay. LearnToRead.
  17. Or further. I hope the OP was a troll, because as it is this game is very close range, even with a ranged class. And even then, one of the 4 advanced range classes is more close-range than long (Vanguard- most good moves are 10 or less meters).
