  1. I actually previewed it on my Mirilian and a Zabrak at level one...the Zabrak was medium-complexioned...both looked grey in the preview, so I thought maybe it would look different when actually worn. Oh well, still not a bad look.
  2. I created a green-skinned Mirialan, leveled to 15, and donned the vest ... it was grey, not blue as I had hoped Maybe I should have chosen the darker of the green skin tones, but the one I picked most resembled the one in the picture. Oh well...I can live with it...the Jedi Knight is still a blast to play
  3. Aspiring Knight's Vest (changes colors?) I know I've seen the black Aspiring Knight's Vest on a Zabrak knight, but can anyone confirm that it's actually a light-blue color (not grey) on a Mirialan (per the link above)? Thanks.
  4. It's been a long time since I did my class quest(s) on Quesh. But you shouldn't have any problems with the Consular class quest on Quesh, although i was a healer. The only class quest I remember was the one where Nadia meets you before you go in. If that's the quest your talking about, then you're supposed to go into the room and you'll see some glowing stations on the walls that you can click on. There's more than one, but I'm pretty sure there's one very close to the entrance. You *should* click on the station. It provides a buff that basically increases your defenses against the Sith in the room. As a healer with lift, it's possible to clear the room without the buff. That's what I did...and then when I cleared the room, I noticed the buff stations, clicked on them, and realized what they did :/ But by then it was moot. But when my guild mates did their Consular quests (one was DPS sage, the other Shadow)...they had the same problem (i.e, kept dying) until I told them to click on the buff stations. After that, it was doable. @OP...BEST spec is subjective. I think the hybrid dps is more fun to play and is faster to level; while a full Seer spec is more forgiving and allows you to solo many of the Heroics (pretty much all Heroic 2's and even some of the 4's). Killing elites/champions with a full Seer+Qyzen, however, is very very slow imo.
  5. My main is a 50 Seer, and right now I'm leveling a hybrid dps Sorcerer (just got to Quesh). I think DPS gets through regular PVE content faster. So if you want to get to 50 quickly, that's probably your best bet. If you're not in a rush, I think there's more "content" (e.g., Heroic-2/Heroic-4, champion bosses, etc.) that you can solo as a full healer spec. That's just how it feels to me anyway when comparing the two. If you stay healer, I found Iresso (modded for DPS) to be the best for regular content (you can use Qyzen until you Iresso). For harder mobs, I would use Qyzen (modded for tanking).
  6. I only have an alt scoundrel (sawbones/scrapper). For me, I love putting a shotgun to the back of my target's head. It's a cool way to finish a target...and I'm guessing I'm not the only one who tries to finish their target that way. Also, being able to stealth is very useful, as is Disappearing Act. The option to heal is nice too, as is the tranquilizer ability. I've only seen gunslingers played, but dual blasters looks really cool imo. BTW...this is just from a PvE perspective.
  7. Oddly enough, me and my same friend hopped onto our Imperial toons last night, and he had the same issue with his BH. His workaround was to do the his death from above skill...which would then reset the animation.
  8. @ the OP...I wish I could be more helpful. But apparently, I also have the magic version (beat Stark with Nadia in one go, although I was 3 levels over him). I know BW said they "corrected an issue that caused companion stat bonuses from equipped items to be miscalculated when the companion was resummoned," but I'm wondering if that may still be your problem (i.e., it isn't really fixed?). I was soloing the dailies a lot when I first turned 50, and I know some nights they were super easy, and other nights, there was a lot of spam healing--and it just didn't make sense to me. Others in the thread have given lots of good ideas. I don't really recall my battle with Stark that well, but in general, I stay as far away from bosses as possible while still being able to interrupt (that way I stay out of any AoE's and such...although I'm not sure if Stark has one). I don't know if you use any stims, but a Presence stim might be good as it will increase your companion's DPS and help when healing your companion. Also, maybe try your Heroic Moment if you haven't previously?
  9. i think the descriptor is meant for player characters, not NPC's. In terms of your companions, just think of the shotgun (or vibroknife) as an offhand focus, or as something that increases your companion's stats (hp, damage, healing, crit, defense, etc.). For Theran, the shotgun basically make him a better healer.
  10. I was on Hoth yesterday with a Shadow...and the same thing happened with his TK throw. So it's not just you. Only happened once though.
  11. These are my impressions too....especially as a Seer spec. I've soloed every Heroic 2, many of the Heroic 4's, and a slew of Champion-type mobs (although that was all pre 1.2, guessing it's harder now). If you go Seer, equipping Qyzen should probably be your priority. When available, use your quest rewards on Qyzen, and then use your planet commendations to buy mods for his orange gear. A good shield for Qyzen is handy as well. Anything left over use on yourself. I suggest prioritizing armor mods first, whether for your companion or for yourself. I stuck with Quzen until Iresso (although everyone has their own opinion on a preferred companion). As a Seer, it is pretty boring though. Like other say, lift the highest hp boss first...then have Qyzen attack the lowest hp mob and work your way up the chain. All you have to do is force armor Qyzen, rejuventate (if you have force shelter), heal, heal, heal. Toss in mind crush against strong mobs (or even standard ones)...and throw in extra dps when healing isn't a priority. You may have to Stun on cooldown as well, depending on the encounter. If you decide to solo the harder content, you can try toggling off all of Qyzen's abilities except Taunt, Flare Gun and Guardian Strike (this maximizes his threat and armor at all times). TBH...i'm guessing the really good players who understand their class can solo the same content. I've read threads about dps classes that just kite against some of the difficult Champion bosses (personally, I'm terrible at kiting...I don't see how they do it ). And i've read about tanks who just mitigate incoming damage really--well,coupled with their healer, they are able to win the war of attrition as well.
  12. I haven't tried since the new patch, but before 1.2, the droid's CC ability never worked...it kept saying something like an appropriate weapon needs to be equipped. And you can't equip weapons on the droid...***?! If somebody has been able to get the CC ability to work, please let me know. Gear for the droid is pretty easy to get imo (although it is easier to get gear for your other companions) ... several beginning quest rewards are droid parts. You can also use planet commendations to buy droid parts...you should be complete by the third or fourth planet I think. Just be sure to get the moddable droid parts, so you can upgrade after each planet (some of the quest rewards parts are moddable, but they're green, not orange, so you might not look at them). I actually have my C2-N2 fully geared minus the weapon (not all the gear is level 50, but it's between 41 and 50). His definitely heals for less than my Tharan (maybe because it lacks a weapon), and the droid doesn't seem to heal as often either imo. But it was fun trying to solo the dailes with just C2-N2.
  13. Suggestions (from a Sage pov, but i think Shadows might find them useful as well): Ability to instantly (or very quickly) regain Force (something like the Smuggler's Cool Head ability) Ability that instantly removes all negative effects and makes the target immune to negative effects for X seconds AoE Force Stun -- maybe with the Consular throwing the lightsaber and having it spinning around the AoE axis, stunning each target therein Ranged lightsaber attack that deals significant/moderate damage (single-target /AoE), that does NOT respect the GCD
  14. Open Communications, the daily heroic on Belsavis in the Tomb area, now rewards an orange modifiable techblade. It comes default with blue level 49 mods in it, and an END based crystal. Open Communications is also now a Heroic 2 (used to be 4)...and can be easily soloed as a healer sage (not sure how easy it is as a dps sage).
  15. I'm actually leveling a Scoundrel alt...so I'll respec to healer and see how it feels as well. In the meantime, I think I'll also start to PvP finally! Thanks you for all the advice you've provided in this thread.
  16. I'm still upset we didn't actually get Ember Fist as an in-game title
  17. I know dual-speccing isn't available yet, but if it were available now and you could swap on the fly, what two specs do you feel would give you the greatest flexibility in PvP? Would you actually choose two of the specs above? Or does having the ability to swap alter your specs? Thanks.
  18. I'm not well-versed in end-game mechanics, but my impression--and it's just an impression--is that BW does not expect us to regenerate Force quickly. It seems that running out of force is intentionally designed to make encounters challenging; or else, at the very least, groups will have to find creative ways to allow their healer to regen force (rather than it being a matter of simple rotation of powers). I'm assuming this is what is referred to by developers as performing on-target. Could be wrong...but that's just what it seems like. I feel like they expect the average party to have deaths during a challenging encounter...so not only did they redesign healing, but they limited medpacs as well. Not to mention, giving Commandos an in-game res reinforces my suspicions that people are supposed to die.
  19. I can 100% unequivocally confirm that the Advanced 22 is in-game. I have them slotted in my gear. They sell on my GTN (Space Slug), usually around 30-40k creds. In fact, it was after I saw them on the GTN and refused to pay that much that I requested my guild artificer to RE for the schematic (took him @ 12-15 tries iirc) ... the ones I have are crafted by him. If no one else that reads this thread can confirm it, I will take a screen shot when I get home. BTW...Don't want you to think I'm just trolling. I actually follow this thread daily (in the hopes that one day I'll PvP). Your posts have been very informative, and I appreciate them greatly. Thanks. 20. Not sure if you're referring to endgame Power/Crit enhancements, but there is the Advanced Reflective Enhancement 22, it gives +27 Power and +27 Crit (along with +End and +Shield...I forgot those amounts). The shield rating just becomes obsolete for focus/generator off-hand users. Not sure if that enhancement rating is worthy of end-game gear though...maybe those stats are too small/insignificant for you?
  21. Thanks for the clarification ... I appreciate your help!
  22. This seems to be in contradiction to what I've read. Is there a source for this confirmation? I suppose when Zoeller said "any augments already obtained before 1.2. should retain their value" ... he could've meant "value" not in terms of numerical value (+28), but in terms of relative market value to post 1.2 augments. It's a big difference though between +28 and +18/+12. If there is a source that can be cited, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  23. LOL Obviously surviving Chapter 1's story-line is on par with surviving the Jedi Knight's final boss fight. I did enjoy Chapter 3 quite a bit. But the first two were just ok. The basic plots weren't that terrible in concept, but they didn't seem very engaging to me. And now that I've been playing both a smuggler and an inquisitor, the Consular story-line does seem a little lack-luster in comparison (at least in first chapter).
  24. !.2 will be the easiest if you can wait that long and have enough legacy levels (I believe you need at least 10 legacy levels, and the items are either 75k? or 100k?) If you have Treasure Hunting, though, lockbox missions will produce them as well. Level 1, 4 & 5 missions can produce them. I've only gotten the Colossus (lvl 4) and Talon belts (lvl 5) ... I have yet to get a Phalanx belt. Chances aren't the greatest. But if I'm just running dailies or helping guildies with their quests, I just run 5 lockbox missions continually. The level 1 ones can be kind of annoying because you have to open your crew skill box every 3 minutes or so. But I usually average 1 or 2 pieces every 3 days (playing about 2-3 hrs/day). The only problem is that it's random whether you get heavy, medium or light. http://dulfy.net/2012/02/22/orange-bracersbelts-and-light-armoring-modding/ The other potential advantage to doing these lockbox missions is that the moddable items may be needed (not sure) in 1.2 so crafters can re-engineer them to learn schematics to produce augmented/exceptional items (or something like that).
  25. Thanks! That makes sense, now I know...GI Joe! [hoping some are old enough to get that reference ]
