  1. Comming from CoH I do miss class roles. It was fun having Tanks, Scrappers, Blasters, Defenders and Controllers, each having several primary AND secondary power sets to choose from. SS/Invul tanks played WAY different than Fire/Fire, likewise a Illusion/Kinetic controller was totally different than say an Earth/Storm. Then Villains dropped, and we got Brutes, Stalkers, Corrupters, Dominators and Masterminds. I never felt forced into a specific group makeup. Even if you always HAD a tank, healer and controller, just the different power sets/combos these classes could have made things interesting. Sure running a full team of masterminds with 6-9 pets each could get a little crowded, but it was fun. Also the character creation in CoH and even Champions Online was great, I do care about how my character looks, and hate having such limited options in character creation (I know there are worse out there) PvP was fun, albeit a little paper/rock/scissors for 1v1 (I can destroy most brutes, but most dominators wipe the floor with me) I left CoH when AE came out (you could build your own missions, farm the shxt out of them and get to max level in a single day) and it was impossible to find a team for anything other than (52 boss farm AE LFG) Then I jumped to CO, seemed the logical step, even lifetime sub'd and pre-ordered. Their classless power system was not to my liking. You could just about pick any power from any skill set for any character. Everyone became a jack of all trades and if you think SWTOR is easy, you should have played CO, if you couldnt solo a 4 man mission, your keyboard probably just came unplugged. Didnt play too long after it went live so I dont know how thats evolved. So far, to me, SWTOR seems to be right in the middle, almost every class can perform almost any role, but the benefet of teaming up is still present (unless you're a sorc/sage apperently heh) As with most things, there are pros and cons and then theres what is ideal, for each person individually. Ive been sick of Trolls and Elves for years, and the spandex was chaffing, so lightsabers/blasters it is! I can see myself playing this game in its CURRENT state for a year or two, but I take my time and love alts. With enough new and good (most have seen new content do more harm than good at one point or another) content I could hang around for a decade or so
  2. ^^^that guy. Ive seens a lot of posts about people quitting, some with blown up enough heads to actually start a thread about them quitting, Im just browsing the forums at work and saw that post and decided to reply, like the first line said, totally trolling I suppose but meh, bored at work, would rather be smugglin on NarShad, I know Im close to getting a wookie, Ive seen him now at least in a cutscene. . . . . . heeeeere wookie wookie wookie
  3. WARNING TROLLING TO FOLLOW! OK, the last thing I would do after unsubscribing to a subscription game, is go onto the forums and let everyone know I un-sub'd. I can see 2, ok 3 reasons for doing that though. 1) Lying, I didnt really unsub, just want to get a rise out of people. 2) Regretting my choice to unsub and need validation from random interwebz people to make me feel better about my choice. 3) I think Im so important and loved in the forum that I can make everyone else hate it too. Then I can say "I killed SWTOR!, I told people I quit and it sucked and they all quit with me!" I barely post here as it is, just read while Im at work and cant play. I sure would not take the time to come let everyone know I unsubscribed, but then still nay-say and/or "participate" in the online community. BUT to at least address the topic. . . . havn't made it to end game yet so Id have to just take a stab and say there are people who enjoy complaining, and will do so, no matter what. The way they get enjoyment from a game is different than the way I enjoy a game. {spacebar}{spacebar}{spacebar}{spacebar}collect X kill Y{spacebar}{spacebar}{spacebar} seems like a waste to me, but Im not paying everyones sub so enjoy/lothe the game as you like.
  4. Just throwing in my $0.02. The idea of "Craftables should be BoP so people need to dive into a crafting skill to get the item" is ugly and wrong to me. Thats pretty much saying if you're a tank, you have to take crafting skill X to get the best gear. Your crafting skills would be completely decided by your class. If you cannot sell what you make, you need to be able to use it right? or else whats the point. I dont ever want to be forced into a crafting profession based on my class since only I can use what I make. The idea that "If crafting gear isn't BoP, everyone will just buy it and no one will craft" OK, who will they buy it from? If no one crafts, where would all this crafted gear on the GTN come from? If it's sellable, you have a seller and a buyer. Crafter and customer. Economy. Now will the prices be fair right out the gate? No. It takes time for an economy to balance out and hit its sweet spot, but saying that "everyone will farm credits and buy gear from the GTN if it isn't BoP" IS the goal, not the problem, simply because the gear on the GTN doesnt appear out of thin air, and if craftables are better than drops at equal level requirements, craftables become desirable, and the economy thrives on the crafters selling and the farmers buying. High end crafted gear should be sellable, hard to make, expensive to buy, and better than stuff you can easilly get from vendors.
  5. Like the Pratchett quote. The name Rincewind was already taken on my server by Dec 17th
  6. as far as Ive been able to tell, you just have to wait them out.
  7. Got it, I was trying to add and toggle them from the skills tab. I just hit the + next to the companions icon and it loaded their full trey into my skill bar. From there I could toggle them all on and off.
  8. Thanx. The problem is that the unchecked newer abilities do not let me click/toggle them on. Ill check out some of those sites tho. P.S. Cant wait till we get a search tool again. The forums are becoming a giant mess, hard to even find anything but "I hate X" and "Can I PVP with X"
  9. Level 21 now with my Trooper, and I notice when I go look at my companions abilities, there are powers there with "check boxes" that are de-selected. The first 2 powers my companion had are selected, and select/de-selectable, but the other powers just sit there and stare at me with their unselectable boxes. Does my companion still use his gained powers with them being un-selected? Also, I cannot drop any of his powers into any of my skill bars. Being a gunnery commando trooper, I like to have my furry trooper buddy start the attack, draw aggro and let me lay waste to everyone from the grassy knoll. Id like to use something other than the 2 powers that are showing to open the attack with.
