    Op Healing Q

I appreciate your input. “I don't claim to be good though.” Well, you must have far more hours invested than I do, so it has to work fairly well for you.

    Op Healing Q

I want to avoid massive amounts of over healing. This seems really inefficient.

    So you don't know

    Op Healing Q

I'm having trouble tracking my hots with the current interface (too many buffs and so on). Anyone got tips or suggestions?
  5. *Raises hand* Merry, Pippin, and Sam. MMO players can be really sensitive. A lot of people care whether or not others think they are good players. I think people who put together events and promote an active and friendly gaming community are the real pros .
  6. #59, last page. You posted a lot on that page, so you might have missed it.
  7. I said healers are fine in terms of balance. I don't know why you are replying to me with a healerRfine comment, but I partly agree with the op statement (I still go bored out my mind on mine tho). Thankfully, The op combat has slightly improved since 1.2, but I was mainly referring to seer and BH/T. Healing combat itself is awful. It's almost dumbed downed to rotations (I want to facepalm every time I read the "healing rotation"), and there is still no or little implications with the energy system for seers in pve. Healing methods rarely change because there is little to no modification on how you heal. The healing tools are limited, and there are way too many abilities that are only used because talent synergy. There are a lot of people who heal because they find it fun (shocker to some). It doesn't matter if healing is perfectly balanced if the healing combat itself is uninteresting and boring. /end rant
  8. Healers are fine. The healing combat and interrupt design is trash. BW should be revamping healing synergy between tanks/healers and improving the pace of healing gameplay, but instead they made healing more clunky and slow in 1.2. Forums on MMORPG are exploding with swtor f2p comments >.<. I wonder if there's any correlation.
  9. I am referring to the poor healing design that makes healing into a mindnumbing play style that is too similar to dps combat. Healing broken down into "rotations" because of the lack of situation requirements on healing abilities. I am referring to the energy system that leaves little room to modify healing methods to match the situation. The abilities that are only used because forced synergy from talents (hots). The pointless cds that limit the options and healing methods of healers. The gross differentiation between single target and aoe capabilities among classes. They can make healers overpowered or underpowered for all I care. Imo, The healing combat in this game is atrocious, and I was really hoping for some improvements in this patch.' Sorry for the rant. I'm just playing the wrong game.
  10. It's still not good enough. Healing combat is still lacking in several aspects. They can lower dps as much as they want, but the core healing mechanics are still there.
  11. Healing is a diverse play style. It can be exciting and rewarding. It's easy to make friends in-game and, in other games healing itself can truly be a "piano improvisation" (no real rotations). The right combination of spells can pull your group out of the worse situations, but a single wrong note can be your downfall. Healers also have dependency on the other two roles. CC/slows from your dps can lower the damage the group takes. Tank positioning and key cds can be the difference between a wipe or a kill. Its good to try out healing. All players should know the perspective of every role in pvp and pve. I would suggest leveling a operative with a healing build (leveling as a dps build would be faster, but you should experience the play style of a healer from level 10-50). Try to get a lot of group experience as you level. Run a lot of instances and queue for pvp once you are around the mid to high 30's. To me, healing in this game is kinda .... well crappy. It lacks diversity, has small limits on different healing methods, and it resembles too much of a dps play style. You might enjoy it though being your first time.
  12. I'm not a big fan of insults, but I liked this one lol. Our best ability? Back peddling of course. "Follow me younglings, away from the objective we goooo!"
  13. I don't think the gear grind is that awful if you enjoy pvp. If you enjoy it even when you lose, then what is the harm to grinding the gear if you have fun? If you only enjoy pvp when you win, then I would suggest avoiding it. It's not healthy to nerd rage or let a game drive your emotions. You can see it quite often in these forums.
  14. Thank you for that. I think this post hits the core of it.
  15. I keep trying to find the gold, but all I get is pyrite.
  16. I believe I recalled population issues occuring before D3 was released.
  17. I've met so many Marines through mmos. It has to be something in the food.
  18. Its good and its bad. I use to run a aoe 4 man group, and we would place our aoe a lot of times where a sorc would put down salvation. Obviously, dps aoe>>>>>>healing aoe, so that tactic world really well while on offense in voidstar. In pvp, I mainly use it to bait interrupts. Occasionally there are times when it is useful in pvp, but I try to be careful because I don't want my team to all huddle up and get aoe'd down.
  19. I don't understand what you are getting at. You are complaining that other players are complaining while making poor suggestions to adjust their class? Why would that make you upset? People get insulted way too easily by other players when they come in here to give feedback or suggestions. Not everyone will agree with me, but I think a lot healers are annoyed because of some of the following. These are from mainly my perspective on player a sage, but a few of them have also to do with my ops. -Clunky abilities - Healing abilities that do little to no healing and are only used because of talents and synergy - Short cds, limited healing tools, and lack of required situational needs that pushes healing into a mindless rotational slumber fest. - The dependency on a single ability because with it healers are extremely powerful, but without it they are underpowered and vulnerable (guard). - The extremely high differences between healers and their aoe healing capabilities. -Resource pools that do little to change or impact healers on how they modify their playstyle Bioware should be developing and adjusting classes so they are more exciting and engaging. I just don't see this happening for a lot of classes.
  20. My guess would be.... BW might be scared of how solo q players will interact with each other in a "potentially stressful environment". I honestly would be nervous about it too. Have you seen this community . I still wouldn't pull it out of the patch though. A lot of people want to try it. We are people of the extremes. We either tend to always blame others, or we tend to always blame ourselves.
  21. Oh common, you know that really isn't true. Sure, there are setups that will have slight advantages than others, but there is a limitation to what that advantage brings. I've gotten pretty high ratings myself playing with a class that the player mass would consider an underpowered class at the time with a random team composed of close friends. Spriest/destro/paladin BC Moonkin/UA lock/Paladin Early Wotlk
  22. I never understood why developers make rated matches give out rewards. I thought they were created to test your skills and knowledge against other players..... not to do another gear grind.
  23. I didn't know so many ppl still enjoyed swtor healing. I remember when I was healing a wz, and... -_- ZzZzzZzzzZzz
  24. Well, its defiantly nice to hear happy customers time to time on these forums.
  25. You gotta admit that he has a point with the engine.
