  1. I'm looking for a GSF-active server and/or guild. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. This was last asked on this forum two months ago, and the OP was directed to Harbinger, but he also got PM replies...
  2. Wiped 3 times. One death was from Krannus chasing me all the way back to the entrance while the valorous Republic special forces evaded. It's bugs like these that made me quit, twice, for over a year both times. Make the bug work for you! If you're sick of re-clearing the place out, put companion on passive, run through, and watch Krannus and his men kill all the trash mobs for you! http://i.imgur.com/O0I78xo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QYpMwD2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/u6JHX8f.jpg
  3. The INWF is an Empire-aligned group of mellow adults on Begeren Colony focused on end-game content. Our progression raid goes two night/week, two hours/night. And with our allied guilds, we do regular weekly events such as HM S&V tonight to clear the way for Hateful Entity this Saturday. http://inwf.enjin.com/
  4. Re PvP, red targeting reticles are much more obvious than exhaust or blaster color for identifying friend or foe. Re canon, just a sincere and humble question: Do any of these "canon" suggestions actually get implemented, considering we still have so many gameplay and quality of life issues that have existed since launch?
  5. I see two possible paths for your fleet req. 1) GSF now requires us to play and learn a variety of ships in order to win. Buy ships first. 2) Crew also helps. If you know you love your current ships and don't want to try others, take note of the crew members you want to recruit. Some will join you for free as you acquire them on your class story. You'll have to buy the rest with fleet req. (I had to buy a Jaesa for my assassin, for example.) Eventually you'll do both.
  6. I wouldn't mind having it available. My two predictions are: 1) It will manage to break my Relaxed Vestments Chestwraps again. 2) Nobody will use it anyway (just like ME3 multiplayer's (yes, people still play that)).
  7. NO U! Maybe I should play Pub side more often. The skill, ship count, friendliness, and population seem to (sometimes lightly, sometimes not so lightly) favor Pubs across servers, based on replies here.
  8. I like it less only because there are not enough skilled people to play with on my server. I do miss pwning and carrying matches on my scout, but all 2.6 did is made GSF a team effort, and I am not against that.
  9. While I personally don't care about kills vs assists (all I care about is winning), this is a legitimate concern for people who like Achievements, for example.
  10. I've added a line for GSF-centric guilds. If you're in one or know of any, please let the community know (as some of you have already done), as well as level of activity.
  11. Which server is best for GSF, and why? Which faction, and why? Is your server the best because pilots are friendly, or skilled, or only run in premades, or all of the above? Let's rank servers based on different criteria, for those who LOVE GSF and might consider switching servers just for it. I'll start: My server: Begeren Colony My faction: Mainly Imperial, occasionally Republic Any GSF-focused guilds? Level of activity? With website?: Doesn't seem like it. Queue times, AM/PM: AM queues are rare. PM queues are slowing down these days. Pub side gets more queues, more pub vs pub matches. Queue quality: I almost never get a match without 2-3 people on each team with only the starter ships (ie. newbie GSF pilots). Friendliness: Generally friendly if you get some ops chat going, which is difficult in GSF. Skill: There are maybe 15-20 aces total, but only a few are on together at any given time. (Think Drake's equation.) Premades: Almost non-existent. Comments and conclusion: Begeren Colony would be great for new pilots who want to experience GSF among other new pilots.
  12. How dare you actually play the game and enjoy it. Forums are for crying! But seriously, good job on just playing the game. Many people are not capable of enjoying themselves.
  13. Any gunship sniping from their cap ship can be ignored. The game doesn't need fixing. Their behavior doesn't need fixing. But your team's strategy needs some help if you're trying to fight within range of their cap ship. If you know they're going to do it, devise a strategy to deal with it. All they did was patch their weakness. All you need to do is find another one. This issue does not need fixing.
  14. Ammo versus shields, there is no correct answer. Only Zuul. As a scout, I spam cluster missiles and get significantly more kills doing so, as opposed to conserving ammo for a kill shot, or as opposed to when I'm out of ammo completely. It's only logical: ammo = more DPS. I agree with someone above who said that, if he runs out of ammo, then the other team is losing badly anyway. In these cases, depending on my mood and my team's lead, it's usually faster to just suicide (or fly more recklessly) than to ask in ops chat for an ammo drone and/or fly across the map to find an ammo drone.
  15. Armonddd, you are a better Sun Tzu scholar than me. I like the quote because, regardless of context, the point is not to charge at a bomber, but to let it come to you... or at the very least, ignore the bomber completely. Post #1 asked about mines and defeating bombers, and nothing about Domination or Deathmatch. The answer is to remove the bomber from its position of strength, be it through ignoring it, luring it out, or as you said, bringing an AoE ion railgun and friends.
  16. When the position is such that neither side will gain by making the first move, even though the enemy should offer us an attractive bait, it will be advisable not to stir forth, but rather to retreat, thus enticing the enemy in his turn; then, when part of his army has come out, we may deliver our attack with advantage. Sun Tzu
  17. Sun Tzu has some things to say about matches with several bombers/gunships, and GSF in general: Deathmatch: When the position is such that neither side will gain by making the first move, even though the enemy should offer us an attractive bait, it will be advisable not to stir forth, but rather to retreat, thus enticing the enemy in his turn; then, when part of his army has come out, we may deliver our attack with advantage. Domination: The art of war teaches us to rely not on the likelihood of the enemy's not coming, but on our own readiness to receive him; not on the chance of his not attacking, but rather on the fact that we have made our position unassailable. Both: Move not unless you see an advantage; use not your troops unless there is something to be gained. If it is to your advantage, make a forward move; if not, stay where you are.
  18. I'm a scout and play both sides. Before bombers were introduced, there was no challenge, and I hoped that bombers would be the counter to my scout. Lo and behold, I can't carry my entire team anymore. And that's a good thing. Don't misunderstand me, I LOVE my scout and I love dogfighting. I love the thrill of pwning lesser skilled players and I don't mind losing to anyone better than me. But the problem is not bombers. The problem is players who can't play the way they want to play. Scouts not wanting to fly fighters with EMP. Gunships who go for kills instead of ion AoE. People are unwilling to counter bombers. The problem is scouts still wanting to cap a sat 3v1. We can't do that anymore. And we really shouldn't be able to. It's a team game. The problem is the ace pilots who do not build a network and/or share their knowledge with newer players. If a sat is locked down by 2 bombers, 1 gunship, and 1 scout, coordinate with your team and push that line or hit another sat. Treat it like Civil War or Novare Coast. When I play GSF, I just want to shoot and kill stuff. I get it. But when I lose, I don't blame anything except my unwillingness to change and adapt.
  19. Thanks. I did read it. Maybe my question should have been: Is the benefit to having a bolstered 69/63/61 non-weapon offhand exactly the same as having bolstered 69/63/61 on the rest of my gear? Or does it being an offhand (despite not being a weapon) give it further bonuses over a chestpiece for example?
  20. Is it also optimal to bolster non-weapon offhands like shield:rak_02:, focus, or generator? Sorry, I'm late to the bolster game and PvP in general.

    Broken Relics

Okay thanks. Sorry for the noobiness. It just suspiciously looked like a bad tooltip to me.
  22. Dormancy

    Broken Relics

Thanks, those are the two relics that seemed to make sense. Can you/anyone please confirm that these numbers are correct on Focused Retribution? Half duration, double proc rate, +500 primary stat upgrade from Conqueror to Obroan?! http://imgur.com/9oe7wzm.jpg
  23. Dormancy

    Broken Relics

Are any relics broken? Specifically Obroan Serendipitous Assault and Obroan Focused Retribution? Is the tooltip on Focused Retribution wrong (Conqueror vs Obroan has a difference of 500 main stat proc buff!)? I just started ground PvPing again after over a year, and google showed me some relatively recent posts that said some relics were broken. And after being gone, I don't know what's what in the PvP world. Thanks.
  24. How exactly does this work? Is it maul spam, or tank "rotation"? I'm not new to PvP but I haven't played ground PvP in over a year. And I always had PvP tank gear when I did. Even back then, I read a lot about using DPS gear in tank spec. I still read about it and have seen it done well today. But I haven't seen any specifics or guides on playstyle. I'd like to know, before spending comms.
  25. What's the radius/range of Ion AoE then? And, more importantly to me: Ion AoE is a good working theory, but what else could it have been? I'd also point out that I have no videos/screenshots to prove it happened, and likewise can not prove that there were turrets at all, or that Ion AoE is the culprit. Nobody believed the original poster and everyone assumed he was just playing badly. We shouldn't be so quick to shrug it off as "eh, it was Ion AoE" after being presented with no further evidence and only one more anecdote from me.
