  1. I don't think that "beeing killed as a healer" is the problem here. If i don't want to die, i don't do PvP. Beeing killed is part of the game and beeing a focus target as a healer is even more part of PvP. The point is: there is a major difference between beeing announced as a target via vent: "Kill the healer" "Where is he? "<description of location follows" opposed to "Kill the one with the large red mark over the head that you can see from whereever you're looking". It makes it much more easier. I do understand that it is an advantage non-healers don't want to have taken away. But i think it is necessary to disallow player marking in PvP. Edit: You don't even need to announce who to kill once you use marking. At least for me, if i enter a warzone and there's a marked enemy player, i will attack him. It pretty much gives away what is needed.
  2. Marking a target in a fray is a huge advantage. You can't compare it to calling out the name on vent or in chat. Nameplates over the chars are mostly the same size and color, so still you have to search a bit to find that healer. That is - if he is in the fray. Or maybe he's a bit outside, standing on higher ground. You'd have to look for him which give's him a chance to be a bit more useful. So with a well organized group of opponents it still would probably be hard as a healer, because they play well and are used to react fast. A walking marker makes it easy for everyone. You're singled out all the time. There's almost no chance to hide unless you leave the line of sight. Which also makes it impossible to heal. I can understand that most players see an advantage here and want to keep it. But honestly - i think it is just about that. I have an advantage, don't take it away. So long story short: disable marking in PvP-Areas.
  3. Ich hätte Ostfildern (bei Stuttgart) im Angebot. Spiele auf Vanjervalis Chain Ypao (Soldat) und Awev (Jedi-Ritter)
  4. Well, you did a very fine job in pointing that out without helping the topic overall very much. Thanks for the help. --- I do like the idea to fight for control and gain access to a raid boss or special vendors (similar to wintergrasp). It could be A motivation for players to engage in open world PvP there. But that obviously would need some restrictions to the area as in number of players, which pretty much contradicts the open world PvP idea. A possibility could be to limit the number to be even, e.g. the player numbers in both factions need to be within +/- 5% or less with more players in the area. If that limit is reached for one faction, no new players are allowed to enter the region until the other faction improves in number. That could be a problem though if a significant number of players from one faction leave Ilum in a short amount of time - what to do with the other faction. Kicking players is not the solution...
  5. The fact that Lvl 50 - Warzones will take time to start will solve itself with more players reaching Lvl 50. So that will be an temporary issue at best. In the meantime, all players that roll new chars and also want to do some PVP while levelling up still have the ability to PVP because anyone between Lvl 10 and 49 is in one bracket. So i think this is a good solution, especially for new players that need that phase to gain experience in PvP. Besides of that it still amazes me that even on the PTS-Forums people keep getting at each about who is more correct on "what people want to play" and who has to "go back to WoW". This is a test server, it's intended for testing new stuff and the forums are intended for comments on actual changes and maybe suggestions for future changes. There will always be "pure" PvP'ers, "pure" PvE'ers and some that do both. All of them belong in this game and should have their fun. So these discussions should be more about "if you change X for PvP, it may cause Y for PvE, how about changing it that way?" instead of "go back to WoW if you want to do PvP/PvE/whatnot". Like in... having a meaningful discussion and all that. Shouldn't be that much of a problem...
