  1. ...and the tank was right:) It's more likely that you didn't follow the mechanics (interrupts/going out of the red circles etc)....but I am more interested in why there wasn't another attempt with better tactic? ...and when you attempt FP with tank companion keep few things in mind - he/she does aoe taunt (so all the damage is going to him/her) and the companion doesn't have defense cooldowns like a player tank (basically no 'oh '****'' button) The aoe taunt ability can be turned off (by right clicking on the ability - there is a green dot on the upper right corner of the icon which should be off) and you can manually control your tank (but that is harder on you and it is dangerous) and it is best if one of you tank one elite mob so the damage isn't too much for your tank companion. Now that is a little harder with 2 MRDs, but you are 65 - with little practice and reading your abilities you should be able to do it. The other very important thing is having a kill order - as soon as the battle starts one or both of you should go and clean the weak/normal mobs, as they die easy but can still do nice damage (especially if they have special attacks). ...oh and you should learn to interrupt - that ability can save you alot of damage:) ...other than that...haven't played MRD in a long time so no ability names, but you should have ability that gives you +10% defence every 30 secs - use it in the start of the battle for the initial damge (clearing the weak/normal mobs should take you more or less 10 secs so it is not needed after that). Another ability that allows MRDs to tank (somewhat) gives you 20% damage resistance for 30 secs (if you are being hitted constantly) - so very good against 1 elite mob:) Finally....I don't know.....try different tactics and see what works for you? Like send your tank companion first to take the initial damage (boosting his defence ofcourse) then you two jump to clear the trash (the small mobs). Or maybe jump yourself (with defence buff) and then have the tank quickly go and taunt all enemies so you are hopefully left with only 1 mob to tank (but I am not sure you can survive the damage). Or try something else.... ....or the easiest option tell us your server and time when you play and let some experienced player show you what to do/not do:)
  2. It was such a long time ago I had my first JK there, but if I remember currectly the fight you might not have glitched or anything. He made clones of himself that were easy to aoe down, but ofcourse the thing is for you to gather enough focus fast for such attacks.... ...and on top of that I didn't have the droid equipped (as I didn't use him) and this battle was nightmare....lucky for me this wasn't my first char, so I played a little better and it was lots of DCDs/ companion DCD (at that time companions had more skills than now)/ sending companion to aggro and fight only the boss while I take care of the adds etc:) ....safe to say I died few times until I did everything correctly:D
  3. FPs actually give good xp (it is normal for low levels to gain few levels in FP so it is good if you remember to offer holo skill trainer) and actually give good loot as long as you are not 65 (the sets you get with crystals when you get to 65 are better). Part of the SoR expansion is actually in the form of FPs so some of them are part of the main story (tho for me it is still a ''*** were the devs thinking'' moment including them in the FP's you need for a reward as they can spoil SoR). I think you meant Hard mode at one point not heroics, but you were talking about WoW and I haven't played that so maybe there the names are different.
  4. ...please use ''imo'' or ''in my opinion'' and don't say it as if it is a fact, because otherwise you just make people nitpick your post for incorrect things...and there are alot:) Well said:)
  5. Well said...I guess the way to enjoy KotFE is to go at it with this mindset:) Sadly I will continue to sub SWTOR just because I love the original stories/part of the game so much:)
  6. Sounds more like you got pugged with the wrong people than problems for being the only one that is 65 tbh:) ....without going into too much details (as this is not thread for that...and you don't sound like you need too much advice) I would advice you to not forget your aggro lowering ability and/or just letting the rest off the party show you how good they are and decide what damage to output (I am assuming you are not a healer). What you might have forgotten is that....third?.....of the dps classes still have taunt even if they are not tanks. So you can ask them to taunt some mobs just so you spread the damage around.... As for Ortuno and kolto's....why do you want to use koltos yourself? I mean I know about the bonus big heal, but unless the party is using them one after another - and thus wasting them -....I honestly don't see the problem....? Explain please:) ...and it is good idea to use kolto right before the boss uses his ''flood'' ability (the big aoe) as the hot from it might save somebody....I am not sure if that will be enough if you are too close to the boss however....
  7. May I ask why would you say such a thing? Imo depths of manaan FP is comparatively easy one (vs Maelstrom prison for example)...if you follow the mechanics it is simple that is. Maybe the other poster could have asked the question another way, but I agree with him/her....why did the lvl 65 automatically decided that passing Ortuno was impossible? OP people quitting after 1 wipe sux, but (apart from you having horrible luck as normally they give 2-3 wipes before rage quitting) maybe it is the expectations. I mean in HM FPs 1 or 2 wipes are normal and you use them to learn the mechanics/whatever, but they expect tacticals (the easy FPs) to be walk in the park and just turn off their brain for a while, get some loot and proceed with whatever they were doing....and when they die repeatedly and have to consider ''why'' they are dying and change their playstyle they rage quit instead?
  8. If you are outside the blue circle when fighting them they use some move (forget name...something like staff slam) that do alot of damage and few hits kill you. So be in the circle at all times - and don't forget to switch the mob when one of them stops moving (and there is blue shield around it) since you can't damage it:) It will become damageable soon don't worry:)
  9. Honestly it's not ''game logic''. This is still a RPG game, so your char's perception/awareness is more important than your own. A good way to let us know what they are seeing is the cast bar that tell us ''interrupt here''
  10. Ehh...maybe he does or maybe he is just ''Haha you fell for it...but I won't possess you as I grow bored. So bye!"" and goes away:) But to be serious he is a force entity. Maybe he is just bored and why the events of KotFE...or maybe not and he have some ulterior motive who knows:) Imo ofcourse - he no longer thinks like us... ....or maybe I should finish kotfe and stop guessing things that might be answered already:D
  11. Haha well said...before they made the companions demigods you had to learn how and when to use your interrupt...this was especially true if you were some dps (mara or something) and were more squishy, but had less cd on interrupts:) PS: Ups forgot to finish - so already having the habit to press interrupt (or stun if interrupt is on cd) it was not something I noticed....I learned from forums that it is 1 hit kill move:sul_embarrassed:
  12. Why do you believe this? I am curious because as far as I/we? know their combat abilities are on the same level - so the battle will be decided by who can throw out more power. And that is Nox...he/she probably have few times more power (with the ghosts) even than the JC:)
  13. Very important advice since one of the jedi have force push:) ...after so much time you probably have done this particular quest so some general advice for such situations: read your abilities and don't be afraid to use them. 45sec or a minute may seem bad, but better alive with wasted long cooldown ability than you dead with non used DCD:) And these are important....for example the quest you had to truly solo is a great example why....you don't have to cheat and use heroic moment - just know your DCDs and when used this fight become manageable.... and final tip:...don't worry about rotations and such yet....you are missing too much abilities/talants, but if you want go and google some guides for your class - the good ones explain why an ability is good and should be used etc:) Oh and for equipment you might want to do some Flashpoints (not solo as the drop rate/chance is much lower) and the Group finder is somewhat fast now that it doesn't wait for perfect party....just mind that you might find yourself in a party with new people in a 4 dps situation or something....in which case don't be angry if you wipe a few times:) Anyway equipment - it gives you (every boss have loot specifically for you) nice items that are usually better than what you will have while leveling...if you don't use the GTN that is... ...hope this helps:)
  14. Fair enough. And yes - the agent was probably being sent to die and hopefully do some damage/buy some time for the DC....but he/she didn't die and thus the chapter 2 was born:)
  15. Unless it have changed recently you had 2 prompts asking you if you are sure you want to start KotFE...but maybe you can send a support ticket or something explaining what happened and if they could move your flags so you can finish SoR... ....the other thing is for you to just watch SoR on youtube and then start KotFE.
  16. /sigh Aren't there other threads where you could worship the gods that are the force users? I am not sure I should reply, but let's - force choke doesn't have a counter? A move that require few seconds at best to kill the target and keep in mind that we are talking about a specially trained agent to fight against force users (turned out he/she had too good training - see chapter 2 of the agent story). Madness fair enough - I don't think there is a way to resist that. Wall flinging....well...let's assume the top people (of which the agent is one...even in chapter 1) wear power armor or something:) Throwing lightsaber - fair enough again, but are we forgetting who we are talking about? The agent is not some random thug fresh from the streets... Don't get me wrong - I don't believe the agent could win vs someone like Jadus (or Thanaton/Marr etc for that matter)....tho vs an average force user the agent is probably going to win, as he/she know all their tricks and how to counter them.... What saves that encounter imo is that the agent never defeats him...he/she just survives until the dark council come to restrain Jadus...even the cage is not going to hold him... Actually if you bring Kaliyo when confronting Jadus she tries to shoot him and he teleport to evade the bullet/blaster bolt/whatever:) I am taking that move to judge his power....
  17. Are you thinking of ? It is ~2:30+ As for the rest of your post - I am at the opposide side of you - I find the SI much more impressive because he/she found a way to make him/herself powerful...even if that was with some help from the right people. While the JC (while impressive) is just a guy/girl with lucky birth:)
  18. Where and are you sure they have stated that the JC is equal to the SI and not in the ''side of the same coin'' or about ''pure'' SI (without ghosts)....? ...I can't believe that, because the SI faund a way to get additional power and to survive/lift the restriction that the particular way for extra power have (the force walking ritual). ...I agree with that:) Maybe we should compare their companions?
  19. Maybe....but in Thanaton's defense the guy could fly:P ...but yes it would have been nice if we faced someone like darth Jadus (from agent's story) - as he seem/everyone say he is the most powerful sith in the council, so probably could give us a fight even with the ghosts...but oh well... Thanaton (imo ofcourse) was good enough:) ....ooo don't be sad:)
  20. As I said in another thread: That Thanaton was not THAT strong doesn't matter really, as the SI just stood there and let him throw (and take his time for more powerful attacks) his best attacks at the SI....who just tanked them and walked from them without a scratch:) Mind you that this was with the ghosts... KotFE is....more or less horrible for the SI so I don't really count it:) ...actually it is horrible for JC too so.... and sorry Rhyltran, but they are not equal:) JC is maybe SI + 1 ghost...but SI with 4-5....being remade on Belsavis really opened the possibility for the SI to be the next emperor..... But without SI having ghosts the JC is the most powerful of them all...as you pointed out he/she does use the force to break a very big (rakata's!) door then proceed to battle a child of emperor + whatever Rakata's defenses he could find and then heal an ancient being:)
  21. Sorry OP, but I don't believe the SI is the most powerful being in SWtor yet. Please note the ''yet'' part - eventually if no one kills him/her, but he/she is not there yet:) as Rhyltran said: top 10-20 for sure.... ....for whom (Rhyltran) I have a question: why do you say that Marr doesn't fear Nox? My impression was that whenever Nox was feeling confrontational Marr was fast to agree with her.....something he (as far as I know) never does with any of the other characters. ...and no matter the strength of Thanaton (who imo is more powerful than the emperor's voice - I don't know why you consider otherwise but nvm as I said) it doesn't change the fact that Nox stood there and let him (Thanaton) throw whatever he can (and take his time when needed) and took it all without a scratch (with the help of the ghosts ofcourse). So to not go and quote alot of people - I think pure (without extra power from the force ghosts) SI is maybe 2nd place (behind the JC)...or you might even consider JK/SW being stronger, but with ghosts - yea, there is reason they are never mentioned in KotFE - probably so they don't have to make another story just for the SI:) But to be fair no one else have had similar encounters before being prepared for them. Do you think Sith warrior or Jedi knight can fight force ghosts? Especially easrly in their careers? Maybe the SI reacted silly when confronted with the ghost - tried lightning instead of running from it while using all the defenses she/he had, but in the SI's defense the other way was Thanaton who likely would have killed her/him too:)
  22. Just curious, but did you play Nox only in KotFE expansion?
  23. Eh cutting yourself from the force seems like a very bad tactical decision in a duel...just saying:D ....as for the death field and is it channel or not - imo you shouldn't take gameplay for a show of how it works...if it is cutscene or from a novel that is fine, but gameplay - that is not fine. If we take gameplay for abilities known then Nox is a good/very good duelist (force speed + assassin fighting ability) that have some minor regeneration + powerful heals....oh let's not forgot the ability to teleport at will:) ....which is why I can't take such discussions seriously - Nox is imo just too...vague:) ....btw he/she does beat that sith lord even being completely drained from the force (the artifact) so he/she is good duelist...
  24. I believe we can only use bounded force ghosts as batteries and to upper the limit of our power...what we did vs Thanaton in the final battle basically - - If the SI doesn't die first, eventually he/she will become the next Vitiate/Valkorion:) ...as for Belsavis...you can probably find a video on youtube with our encounter with the mother machine...if i remember correctly she didn't remade us with some limits, but as I said if you want to be 100% sure you should check:)
