  1. Sorry but this is just plain silly. No one in the SW universe ever truly succeeded when they went off all on their own. Heck, when they tried running it alone, Anakin lost his legs and got burned crispy and Luke lost his hand and almost fell off Cloud City. Bottom line, friends are cool in Star Wars. Bioware understood that and gave you a slew of buddies to pick from. So pick the right one and have fun! Went with Gault last night to kill the beastie thing on Dromund Kaas, prove myself to Mandalore, all that good stuff. And got stomped a couple of times. Finally switched Gault out for Mako and stomped the monster right back. All the Mandalorians cheered for me when I came out of the cave. Not one of them whined about how Mako helped me out, shrug.
  2. I am able to comfortably roleplay around differences in race and the like, so it's all good. Adoption seems to be a big deal in the SW world, anyway. So my twileks were adopted at one point or another, no big deal. Everyone shares the same name and goes off in different directions, one big family of cousins and the the like, yay. It works.
  3. Smuggler: 9/10 -- story is FUN, hands down. We're talking laugh until your belly hurts fun. I loved the character, the companions, the NPC interaction, and, yep, the story. It was a riot! Bounty Hunter: 10/10 -- Lots of fun, here, too. Plenty of moments I was left laughing. But a more solid tale. I loved how the hunter is an independent, willfull, strong, determined, how she goes from being all about money to honor and family. Sith Warrior: 9/10 -- Combat is awesome. Story is predictable but solid. Loved, loved the Malavai Quinn twist. Enjoyable. Sith Inquisitor: 7/10 -- I enjoyed the twists the story took. And loved the lighting from the fingers bit. Just plain looked bada**. Was fun taking a slave to the higher echelons of power. Jedi Knight: 7/10 -- Very comparable to the SW, actually. An epic story straight from the movies. Predictable but enjoyable. Trooper: 6/10 -- Solid character, preditable story but emotional even as what you expected to happen is happening. But I'm surrounded by soldiers every day, in RL, so I'm a tad biased, here, hehe. Jedi Consular: 7/10 -- Story moves slowly, yes. But it's very well written. The Consular is a diplomat, negotiator. If you approach it from that perspective, that its not the story of a "I'm going to beat you down" perspective, then it's enjoyable. Worthwhile. Imperial Agent: 9/10 -- Played a DS agent all the way through to the end, and fell utterly in love with the story. Chapter 1 was awful, imo, due to the "James Bond" feel of the story, there. But Chapter 2 definitely makes up for it, very very emotional investment in the character during those events. Awesome! Edited to add revisions after additional playthroughs.
  4. Ah, then you really are just confused. You simply can't wrap your mind around why someone doesn't want or like being referred to using terms that simply don't fit them. Again, I am not a guy and don't like being treated like I am a guy (can't play male toons, either, no matter how many times I've tried). I do appreciate the friendliness of someone's assumption in-game, as I said. I don't disrespect or blast them for their misperception. I only correct it.
  5. Some crossover between the SW and the Smuggler:
  6. But...she's...Sith. Honestly, I just can't think of my SW as if she were me. Maybe it's cause I play her darkside. But, to me, she's an example of an utterly alien and foreign cultural and ethical and moral group, so that putting to it my own standards of behavior and choice-making simply doesn't make sense. I continue to think, as I'm playing that character, not so much what I would do in that type of situation, but what would she do. My SW regards Quinn as useful, still. Far more easily known and controlled than some outside entity she might replace him with, to boot. And, yep, really dang attractive. To her, that's what love really IS. Why destroy something she can still utilize?
  7. I'm a veteran, US Army ('96-'99). Met and married another active-duty Soldier, who remains in service. So currently I'm an Army wife of 13 years. He's due to retire soon.
  8. Well, I know this might confuse the crap outta you. But I seriously just don't like being called "dude" or "bro", even knowing it's meant in a purely friendly fashion when the guys I group with use such well-meaning terms to describe me. It's just I'm NOT a "dude" or "bro", so I'll say something with a brief lol attached, like, "Dudette, actually, lol." Maybe you'd be okay with a whole slew of people referring to you in feminine terms, so that this distinction is beyond you. But I'm not a guy and don't really like it when people treat me like I'm a guy.
  9. I've made the balloon ride three times, on two different characters. I've never gone afk during any of the rides. The first ride I ever made, in fact, I was literally in the middle of chatting with the other fellows in the balloon as it was just nearing the datacron-location, when it suddenly disappeared from beneath us and dropped us all down to the desert below. We all sat there for a moment, going, "WTH?!" Then we started laughing and ran back to do it again. Hey, it's a game, right? The last time I rode the balloon, I was just level 26, first hour arrived on Tattoine on my BH, when someone spammed general complaining the balloon had just disappeared from beneath them. I decided that was the best time to run for the balloon, as its disappearing act would be less likely immediately following the one. Worked out real well, and I got both 'crons. I don't mind the wait, honestly. I watch some tv as the thing is moving along and just otherwise have fun talking to whoever's riding the thing with me.
  10. Precisely! I hate James Bond movies, mind you. Always have. I respect the simple fact I'm never ever going to enjoy any story that is stylized off of a James Bond thematic. That's ME, though. I have nothing against fans of James Bond type stories, it's great if they enjoy them, have at it. But if they insist I'm supposed to find just as much satisfaction in those stories as they do, I'm going to at least laugh my butt off, shrug.
  11. Completely agree. I liked pretty much all the stories, aside from one, and I don't begrudge anyone's enjoyment of whichever one they liked "most". It's all good, imo.
  12. Stop apologizing to me. I don't CARE that you adored the IA story in the least. I simply don't find it "unbelievable" that you did, not enough to confront you by saying so, as you told him. What I'm pointing out, rather, is that what YOU like isn't neccessarily going to be what ANYONE else likes, and there's nothing at all wrong with that.
  13. Rather, it seems it's about justifying one's own enjoyment of the thing. Apparently, some people believe you're not allowed to like any stories aside from the ones they did, go figure.
  14. There are threads designed to described what stories you really dislike and why. Is there a reason you need to do that, here? Because I wasn't aware that was the purpose of this thread, that when someone says, "Hey, I like this story," your job was to come along and convince them they're just oh-so-wrong. Heck, I wasn't even aware there was any way to make such a hugely flawed level of judgement, as to declare someone's enjoyment somehow and amazingly incorrect, lol. BTW, I absolutely despised the Agent's story. I found it incredibly boring, mechanical, and cliched. I could've just copied and pasted any 'ole James Bond script into the game and called it "imperial agent". Every single npc I encountered was little more than another play on that theme. Gag-worthy. See how that works?
  15. All the "jobs" you do for the Republic involve delivering or otherwise retrieving something or someone. IMO, it fits the meme of a smuggler pretty well.
  16. Smuggler story is amazingly fun to play. I enjoyed it from start to finish. It was engaging and hilarious. I can't count how many times I was left rolling in sheer laughter from something my smuggler did or said, often both. I loved it all. Bounty Hunter is my second favorite. I like my BH's romance better than my smuggler's. Torian Cadera is classically Mandalorian and perhaps the best mesh for a female Bounty Hunter ever. I found myself literally roleplaying my BH character, the story seemed to come alive that well. Helps that the combat motions were pretty awesome, as well.
  17. Torian Cadera is the romance partner for the female Bounty Hunter. His romance is hands-down my favorite romance in the game. First flirt involves the bounty hunter tossing him over her shoulder, leaving him lying there on the ground with her gun pointed in his face. He only sighs, "I deserved that." From there, he generally approaches the BH as a Mandalorian should, with honor and respect for a fellow fighter and hunter. I haven't been disappointed by any of the dialogues my BH had with Torian.
  18. I'm pretty sure there will be additional adventures with our companions. Bioware simply doesn't leave such tales hanging. May not like the direction the stories take in the end (goshdarnit, Anders!) but there's almost always some indication where our companions go, do, follow, or not.
  19. Dear Mangese, What, you couldn't wait until the expansion that's sure to come? You give up on my love that quick? You're that flighty and insecure? Never mind, I need a real man. Goodbye, Mako
  20. Lots of "thumbs up" from me, here. Heard alot of chuckles during interviews where the "divorce" word was thrown around, but I just shake my head. I just don't find it funny or fun, at all.
  21. Confidence in what, though? I always wonder how "real" Quinn's betrayal was, as he's perfectly aware of the SW's capabilities by that point. Is it possible he's so confident in the SW's ability to overcome this attempt, that it's actually little more than a show for Baras. A way for him to tell his own conscience, "See, I did as Baras bid and now owe him nothing," even knowing all along it would never work. He actually picked droids, to boot. Not real people, so no one to be mowed down and slaughtered. Just a bunch of droids that the SW would just wipe up. Just me, thinking, here.
  22. Haha, I thought you were saying Elara is a Mandalorian, too. Is she? I haven't played the Trooper past 17, anyway, so I'm completely clueless about Elara's story. I'm looking forward to "more" of the romances moving ahead. Although if anyone works it so that my smuggler ends up divorced from Corso, I'm going to scream aloud. She loves the farm boy, leave them be!
