  1. I just had a thought that there's a possibility this has allowed more people per server...less load on them? Not really sure though, as I'm no server guru.
  2. The sad thing is this is the whole reason I left EQ2, because Smokeblower took over and made all these changes, introduced a ton of bugs and ignored the playerbase. Then and to this day the devs expect players to help them fix the bugs and itemization issues. The 2 year attack/pathing bug that only got worse finally pushed me out. Everyone spin in circles, so we can hit the mob, lol. Anyway, point being that they lost alot of players, because of ignoring the players suggestions or telling them "Beastlords will never be in EQ2", then when it's profitable introduce them anyway. I really don't care to experience deja vu with this game...deception does not build confidence.
  3. Careful with INI. settings. They deleted one of my posts after I put mine up to help someone else. Sent me an e-mail stating that I'm not allowed to change my own ini. file on my computer, lol.
  4. RE: I guess its a younger generation thing to have to have "cutting edge" graphics for a game to be considered playable. 40 years old, but I'll take the younger generation compliment, thankyou:) Wasn't just beta with high end textures, but advertising as well, videos, pics, etc....
  5. I guess I'm curious as to why they deceived the playerbase on this. They didn't even acknowledge this issue until they got called on it. Even then it took 3-100+ page posts to get a response and a pretty poor one at that. This is not the way to build players trust. I played beta with forced AA, shadows, high textures, etc....everything maxed with no fps issues and there seemed to be alot more visiable players then. I'm thinking most hardcore gamers are in the same boat in that we build our own machines and know the capabilities of them. We know how to adjust game settings to get the best visuals and yet maintain the 30+fps we shoot for. Even if we want to crank visuals and run a slideshow, that should be our choice to make.....shouldn't it? We bought the game and/or upgraded our machines to play it based off our beta experience and the visuals advertised and yet now they are not available, because we as players if given that option will only complain the game won't run well, not realizing it's because of our graphics settings? Give us a little credit, for most of us this is not our first PC or MMO game. I played EQ2 for 7 years and they have always had some of the most intense graphics options available from beta. I only just recently was able to play that with max settings, but it took a 4.5ghz 2600k, 8 gigs of 1600, and a 560Ti. I always had all the graphics options to choose from though and because of this and tweaking I knew exactly how far I could push them depending on my hardware.
  6. So has anyone re-installed the game after Jan 4, 2012 to see if they actually have High Rez textures now? I only read half the posts, but I'm guessing that was just to passify us and doesn't work or are we still waiting for an official response to this?
  7. Just a recommendation was all, wow very testy peeps here. I did read the first page and numerous others as I'm fond of the very best visuals as well. I didn't know they hard-locked medium textures....sorry I play the game more than I read up on Bioware conspiracy theories:) I enjoy these settings and think the game looks great with them enabled, although i would like to use decent shadow settings, as I still think those are borked too. Could be why peeps don't even post, say the wrong thing and get lambasted....back to the game, since this was just a waste of time. I'm sure the angrier you get, the more likely a dev will respond....lol, not!
  8. I'm thoroughly enjoying SWToR as well. First time I've actually enjoyed crafting. The class storylines are incredible as are the companion system. Just bumming for a few days, since I'm visiting family and my laptop is only good for companion missions, checking mail, or AH. It's like running a slide show. Soon I'll be back on my desktop:) Looking forward to some graphic bug fixes and what the devs have planned for the future. It's been a long time since I've had to make myself quit playinga game, so I can take care of RL responsibilities. Thanks for making a game worth leaving EQ2 for Bioware!
  9. Thanks for the clear info.. Been so long since I played a new MMO, must have forgot that most do this initial sub payment.
  10. Well if that's true, then that's quite a crock of crap for the people with tight funds. I mean why not advertise the game as $59.99 standard edition with 30 days of Free game time useable AFTER first purchasing 30 days of game time. So instead of $59.99, you will need $74.98 + tax to play the game.
  11. Off to work, so good luck to the rest of you December slackers. Hope you get in today:)
  12. 12-9 here, had to wait and try beta as well.
  13. Not in yet, but thoroughly amuzed at peeps acting like the world is gonna end.
