  1. Howdy!

Umm.. I got FPS 61.0 max. How do I get it higher?

I know my PC would run the game easily with higher FPS, but I cant find any kind of console where I could try to find the FPS commands(Like fps_max 101 at counter-strike ;p)

    Thx in advance!

    Regards, Grazor

I'm not sure really, turning off shadows helps a lot of people, and running in windowed mode.

  2. Where do i find my trainer to learn abilities. Jedi Knight.

Trainers can be found on most planets, but an easy one to find is in the republic fleet. Once you are there open your map and head to the combat area. You can then find your trainer and begin to learn new skills.

Make sure to look at all tabs and pick up everything!

  3. How do you unlock more underworld trading missions? I have unlocked many other missions for scavenging but none for under world trading missions.

I'm pretty sure that mission skills become available as you level your character. Once you hit a certain level more will become available.

  4. Does anyone know what the [Prototype] label is on an item? Or where it comes from? I am starting to see some of these on the GM with the same name as some of my patterns. Like [Prototype] Masters Greaves, which is an artifact with 2 slots.

Prototype is an item quality, rarer than the green but more common than the purple

  5. I saw that for surge, it shows up as "increased critical damage', but surge also increases critical heals.

Thank you for updating this thread and putting up the secondary stats because they were confusing as to what they did.

My question is does presence affect bonus heals when you are receiving it from companions and does power affect healing? I am just curious as to which secondary stat is important or beneficial for a healer.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure about power affecting healing. Depending on what class you are you may benefit more from crit, or alacrity rating. I will check it out later in game :D

Thanks for the added information, I added it to the surge stat ^^.

By bonus heals do you mean Heal over Time's? Presence affects all healing a companion can dish out.

  6. Dumb naab question.

    Thinking about taking Cybertech.

Would i be compleatly mad taking Slicing and scavenging with that ? I know they are both gathering skills, but do i miss out on anything good, not taking a Mission skill ? If i do, what Mission skill would be the one to take with Cybertech ?

And is Cybertech the choise for a Mercenary ? If not...then what class is ?

Those are the three I took, slicing provided enough cash to see me through my early level pre nerf. However I'm not sure about it at its current state. Underworld Trading would be the best choice if you were to take a mission skill instead of crafting!! It's up to you ^^

  7. Weird newb question.

My gunslinger has Slicing, Armstech and Scavaging. Should I diversify my portfolio and drop either Slicing or Scavaging for either Investigation or Underworld contacts to increase my yield? (And, yes, I am treating this as financial advice as it is similar.)

A few weeks ago before the nerf of slicing I would have said no, but it might actually end up cheaper if you take underworld trading and farm the mats yourself.

  8. Yep, got it. Thanks.

I'm really looking forward to getting another companion so that I can assign Biotech to their Crew Skills as it certainly sounds like a lot of fun. Besides, I can't really bring my self to unlearning the Skills I've already assigned to my first companion...

    Endek

    No lol ^^

If you have one crafting skill you can't have any more. You won't be able to pick up Biochem now because you already have Armstech.

You can only have 3 crafting skills per player character so oyu are already at your limit.

  9. Thanks for this brilliant guide.

Its a great bit of kit that I will be returning to with each new companion!

As a Trooper, I have recently left Ord Mantell and before setting off for Coruscant, I stopped by the Crew Skills Trainers and assigned my first companion Armstech, Scavenging and Investigation.

I then completed what crafting training was available for Armstech, which basically upgaded my Blaster, resulting in an increase for my Primary Stat, Aim and I also picked up a little extra Endurance and another couple of lesser stats as well, all with the theory that every little bit helps!

    Endek

The skills belong to you not your companion! ^^

Your companion is merely a tool to help you progress YOUR skills :D

Meaning you have hit your crew skill cap (3) on that character. You can of course unlearn one (or all of them) at any point if you want to change them around. But you lose all progress if you do.

  10. This is great... To confirm you can have 3 Gathering Skills, 1 Crafting Skill, 3 Mission Skills?

You can have any of those combinations yes.

But it doesn't mean you can have 7 skills. Every character is limited to 3 crew skills, of any combination you have mentioned.

  11. No offense, but is that based on what the in-game note states, or your personal experience?

I turned in two quests, same area, same apparent difficulty, and I got some 5k XP for one in a non-rested state. After going into rested state I got twice the XP for the second quest.

Note that this is a bit tricky to determine for sure, unless you are doing same quest with a friend and can compare XPs.

I haven't noticed it giving double exp on mission returns either! I will check it out though ^^

  12. Amazing guide.

I am thinking of giving my first character three gathering skills for profit and to help out my many alts who will craft. Which gathering skills are the best in your opinion?

    Well the 'best' is debatable.

If you look at it in a demand and supply point of view you, 3 crafting skills benefit from scavenging, 2 from archaeology, 1 for biochem.

Now there will most likely be more jedi knights and consulars due to popularity reasons, so that means there might be more synthweaving and artifice on your server.

I would recommend either going for, archaeology, underworld trading and maybe if you like scavenging too!

  13. Thanks Goshee for the guide... only been playing for 2 days and it is a great help so far:D

Question - is crafting really worth it. I am lv 10 now and it would be nice to know if i should take it now or not? or rather just focus on gathering and missions?

    Thanks again AA++

Hey Jaken, glad it helped ^^

Crafting can be worth it, I've always had my cybertech level above my character level. So I've always had the benefits of being able to use the best equipment when I can.

Just warning you that it is a money sink, but at later levels you'll get a lot of money from quest rewards anyway.

I never did any gathering mission, I just always went for nodes and that seemed to suffice by the way. So that means I wasn't pouring credits in to running gathering missions.

  14. I would been happy to roll republic if everything about the faction wasn't unappealing. A couple of my guildies even rolled republic for the last beta build, we wanted to hang ourselves.

    - The level-up quest line is like: imagine yourself as a whiny little pushover wussy, take 10 ambian, drink a bottle of NyQuil, then try to read War and Peace in one sitting.

    - All of the characters look homeless.

    - The endgame gear is lol (look at that awesome wedding dress you get as a male sorc!)

    No thanks.

Hey, I like my wedding dress ^^

  15. I just wanted to know is it possible to heal your companion if your not a healer, and if so how do you do it.

Your out of combat heal will also heal your companion.

Also, de-summoning and re-summoning your companion will make him re-appear with full HP.

As will mounting up then dismounting. Not sure whether this is a bug though.
